Our beloved pet was extremely ill and Acacia was the only hospital open near our house the evening he needed medical attention. He was treated by a vet who was not personable and did not explain much. She put him on an NSAID, which is known to cause kidney damage, in the setting of dehydration, knowing he wasnt drinking and hardly peeing. She gave him 1 subcutaneous IV treatment then sent us home with multiple prescriptions and a monumental bill. He only worsened, and we took him back the next night and saw a different vet. She insisted we order $150 labs but could not explain why or how they would affect his treatment, until I asked her several times. She finally said he could die if we didnt. Well, the labs showed nothing we didnt already know and we left that night with another massive bill & several different diagnoses possibilities than what the 1st vet had given, for which she suggested various expensive tests. She also emphasized to NOT give the NSAID because it could hurt his kidneys and put him on a week of home IV fluid therapy. She did not feel all the supplements and prescriptions given by the 1st vet were necessary. I am in healthcare and feel that if the 1st vet had used common sense, she would have sent us home with IV fluids the 1st time and no NSAID and we might have avoided the 2nd visit, stress of watching our baby almost die, and expensive costs we incurred. We since have found a wonderful vet who takes the time to talk with us about reasonable diagnosis possibilities, not a slew of rare long-shots. His prices are more affordable as well. I can only share our experience and hope that no one elses beloved pet is as mis-treated as ours was. I will never take our pet back to Acacia and have no confidence in their practices ability whatsoever. Additionally, when I requested a refund (worth < $50) for the supplies the 1st vet made us buy, I was ignored/disregarded by the company on 6 different occasions. Talk about a lack of customer service! They had taken > $550 from us in 24hrs and wouldnt even consider a small refund.

I cannot express enough my gratitude to Dr. Marc Laudonio and the entire staff at ACACIA ANIMAL HOSPITAL for the care, kindness and compassion given to my kitty, Chaos (and myself). Here is the post that I put on my own Facebook Page that tells the story: "It is time to tell the story of our almost tragic beginning to the New Year involving Chaos, my loving cat. Without recounting the entire story how this happened... Wrigley (a lab mix dog) and Chaos got into a tussle - I cant tell you how it started or who started it. in a matter of seconds - Chaos dashed into the other room... and there was a blood trail. My heart sank... and .... the injury was to his face - his jaw was fractured. Christina (my daughter) took him (I couldnt... I was beyond sad and in tears) to the Veterinary Service Specialty Center ... the Doc called me and quoted lots of money. I said that this decision was a money issue and if that was the option - I would have to have him put down (oh.. those words were hard to say). She then suggested that I take him to ACACIA ANIMAL HOSPITAL - and make an appointment with Dr. Marc D Laudonio. She had said he was "amazing." I cannot say enough how impressed I am with the Hospital and the Doctor. He is amazing... the Clinic is warm, friendly and made me feel comfortable. The care that Chaos received with amazing (and affordable). And the Doctor put him back together again (he had multiple fractures) - his alignment is a little off... I am just thrilled and grateful that he alive. Chaos came home Monday night (Jan 9 2017), and the feeding tube was removed yesterday (Wednesday, Jan 11, 2017). Chaos is eating, drinking ... using the litter box - and is happy to be home. We did a checkup on Monday, Jan 16, 2017 and he is healing well. His PURR is just a little louder. And weve taken some steps with Wrigley to alleviate some of his random anxiety. Life is almost back to what we know as normal." I am so very grateful. Thank you!!

Have been taking our critters (cats and ferrets) to see Dr. Marc Laudonio , and now, his very competent staff for about 12 years. I wont see another vet. The staff always has presented us with options for treatment where there are options available and has been supportive when we have felt it was cruel to unnecessarily extend life. Dr. Laudonio has such a big heart that he has gone to extraordinary lengths to save 2 of our ferrets from cancer and just recently Dr. Coverdill saved our little kitty from a very deadly (and rare) pyelothorax requiring intensive treatment in the hospital and also aftercare. We were debating euthanasia with our kitty and the veterinarians and the office manager, Brenden, were all understanding and supportive if we chose to go that route. Fortunately, Dr. Coverdill wanted to try one more IV drug treatment which worked and we still have our kitty (who is by the way the biggest personality in our house). Thank you to the team at Acacia.

Marc, Brendan and the staff did an exceptional job. This was my first visit to this office and I was treated incredibly well. My cat, Tony was very ill. Every step I made was aided by Marc and Brendan. There was no push to buy anything, leave him there overnight, no push for extensive diagnostics to determine the problem. I felt confident in doing a preliminary blood panel. After twenty minutes past, Brendan brought Tony back to me. My cat was purring and calm. Not what I expected. To placate the story, I decided it was time to put my beloved cat to rest. Tony felt no pain. I have never seen him so at peace. Marc and Brendan stayed with me and talked for a bit. The listened to me recite some of my fondest memories. I didnt feel at all rushed and I felt very safe/relaxed with them. Despite my loss, I have gained new friends. I have a couple other cats and Acacia will be their new place for check ups and care. Honestly....Thank You!

Ive never written a review before, but I feel that when an individual and/or a business, goes above and beyond their job requirements and obligations, to do whatever they can to help someone in need and go to extreme lengths to make fees affordable, should be acknowledged and told thank you...thank you so much. Even though my Danny wasnt a big dog in size, he was in heart. He was a part of our family, and the entire staff at Acacia treated him just like that as well. They were honest, supportive, caring, and sincere. Ive received words of condolences and support from every staff member that was involved with the care of my little guy. A special thanks to the wonderful vet that is one of a kind in my mind, Dr. Vanessa Olsen. She really sets the standard for veterinarians in Tucson and beyond. I am thankful that there are still places that work for the pets and their parents, and are not just about monetary amounts.

Dr. Coverdill And Dr. Laudonio are amazing. I moved from the Phoenix area where my long time veterinarian was a close friend so finding a veterinarian who made me feel comfortable had been difficult. I tried about 8 different veterinarians in Tucson before Acacia and both my dogs and I love Dr. Coverdill and Dr. Laudonio. Dr. Coverdill is personable, gets on the floor with my dog, goes at my dogs pace, remembers my dogs extensive medical history, and allows me to make an informed decision. I have never felt pressured into any treatment. They have fit me in multiple times when my dogs needed help and have gotten me in immediately when I had an emergency. Dr. Coverdill provided immediate treatment while Dr. Laudonio provided fantastic follow up treatment and updates during that stressful time. I wont go anywhere else in Tucson.
