I went to emergency on Aug 22.I have been going to this hospital for 50 yrs. I have praised this hospital as number 1. This changed on Aug 22. I had a severe infection that co uld not be treated at my Dr office. My doctor sent me to emergency and I chose Riverside Community along with my medical record. My Dr wanted me to get admitted so that the antibiotic would be given to me by an IV, faster treatment. After registration and, xrays, ultrasound on my leg to make sure I had no blood clots ekg, blood , I waited for the doctor. Here comes Dr H Ho. He quickly said I needed a breathing treatment. I stated I just had one, but the main issue was my infected leg that was swollen red and very painful. I had fever of 100.9 along with the chills. I notice his clip board only had the EKG results, and asked him if he got my blood work results to see how bad was my infection. THE GRAND DOCTOR HO stated that blood work does not say much..thats new to me.Than he asked me if I got xray on my leg..I said got an ultrasound..THE GRAND DR HO. stated that it was no good..an xray should of been done. I was in severe pain, but Dr kept on talking about stupidity instead of getting an IV ready for my antibiotics. Than Grand Dr..asked why can I just take pills. Did I not said why in the beginning? I than asked him if he not seen the letter my doctor sent. The Superior Dr Ho looked in the clipboard, snap the paper down and and said,"Shes just a P A, there not even a complete sentence in here. I felt red inside and told him to not talk about my doctor..he could never measure up to her with all her knowledge. He kept on going on how8 he wanted to understand as to why I couldnt take the antibiotic pills? Now I am still in the bed with my pain increasing, tears were coming down my eyes. What I suppose to do..how do I get this doctor to check me and not babble about stupidity that is senseless as to my pain? GRAND Dr Ho also asked if I had any pain pills. I told him I was not here for pain pills, was here to take care of the problem causing this infection and to be treated.Than GRAND DR asks me,"WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? Now he is being sarcastic. I tell him your the doctor? Than out of the blues, Grand Dr Ho comes up with the most idiotic question, "What clinic did I come from"?Grand Dr Ho, ask, " what insurance do I have". Now that really got my son aggravated. My son was just listing to him until my son told him,What does all this have to do with my mother seeking emergency medical care? Well that did it..with severe pain I slid down the bed..very upset and told my son lets go.Now do you think the Dr had the right to ask and do all this? I had already been cleared by registration. This Grand Dr Ho..was young..new starter in his proffession, who had an ego not fit for that. I am filing a medical lawsuit..not for money but for him to be reviewed and watch while doing his practice. I for myself will never put a foot at Hospital ever again.I pay for my health insurance so I would not have problems, but this took the cake.I have had this infections before and gone to emergency..and right away I am admitted and put on antiobotics thru IV. I could of reacted different and not care..making these leading to death, but this Dr was not going to do that and lower my self esteem. This doctor felt some kind of superior over me. I am not finish..next is hospital complain than TT he medical board.

My husband has heart problems and he has had many surgeries from a quadruple bypass to having stents put in. And he has always been treated well. Nurses looked out for him and were very watchful to make sure he was comfortable and received his medications on time. In April he was back to have an ICD put in. Pre-op seemed to go ok. Then came post-op. No one checked on him! They left him just lying there with a curtain around him. He was cold so I asked for a blanket. No one brought one so I went to go get it myself. His B/P was high. No one came to check it. Then it started beeping and it took 10 minutes before some one came. I guess the sound starting bothering them! My husband is just out of surgery and there is not one nurse who cared. There were only 3 other patients in there!! I saw one nurse with a mirror and every 15 minutes she would take that mirror out fix her hair and reapply her lipstick! Nurses would come in with food and sit behind the desk and eat. Not once did they offer water to my husband!! And to top it off it took 4 hours to get him to a room. Which wouldnt have been too bad if they were showing him a little empathy! When they took him up to the 3rd floor he had to wait in hall while they finished cleaning his room. I was made to wait out in the hall while they got him in bed. Why? I am his wife. Then there was an emergency in the room next door. Emergencies happen, they cant be avoided. But every nurse, every orderly and every medical student was standing right outside that room! Remember Im still standing in the hall watching all the medical staff gawking when there should have been at least nurse that could have helped my husband. That night they forgot his dinner! He did get a sandwich and some juice after the kitchen closed. Last but not least! My mother-law-went to pick him up the next day and she didnt even make it to the front desk when the elevator door opened and there was my husband walking out of the elevator on his own! Yes a nurse was with him but I thought wheelchairs were used to transport patients!!?? My mother-in-law was livid! I dont know what happened in this day and a half stay - but it was wrong from beginning to end! My husband told me later that this was the worst hospital stay he had ever had at Riverside Community. He explained to me how badly he had been treated!! Now here we are in May and my husband is coming back in for another surgery. Thank goodness his cardiologists are the best! So I know he is in good hands there. Its the after care that really scares me!! Maybe your nurses and other staff members need more training in empathy and caring for the patients. I used to be comfortable leaving my husband in the hospital with everyone there. Now Im so afraid something bad will happen to my husband. Then what would I do!! I hope no one else has to experience what my husband through!!

This by far the best hospital in the area.... my 4 year old had to to go to the ER last night because of a large spider bite! Im pretty sure it was a Black Widow bite. Anyhow I am here alot sadly with little ones. They are kind, clean, and very caring. And best of all they explain in laymen terms. The only downfall is the process. If you are waiting to be seen and the registration staff calls you then the Dr misses you and vice versa. It gets kind of repetitive and I think it could be alot smoother. Last month that my son was seen in the ER a few times a day eventually admitted: My son was admitted for RSV this weekend and it was terrifying for me! Ive never had any of my kids admitted before. EVERYONE was amazing! In the ER we had a PA who was very thorough and kind I believe his name was Mike. Then I had a very kind RT in the ER Ali he was very gentle with my sick baby and never rushed in or out of our room as if he was his only patient. When we found out we were getting admitted I was stressed over so many things but the next RT (Lucy) let me borrow her phone charger after she couldnt find an extra! Im so thankful for such kindness. Our first nurses in the ER were Daniel and Mel. They had great bedside manner thru my whole ER experience and took me to peds along with Abby who made sure my baby got a Kangaroo! No joke she searched, found one and brought it to us at 1 in the morning to make sure he had one!! When we were admitted the nurse was so helpful in peds. Her name was Melissa. We had her 2 nights in a row. She was sure to walk me thru everything and paid such attention to detail. She fixed my Littles IV and made him comfortable and me. She went out of her way to find me a snack in the middle of the night! Our next nurse was Marge! We had her 2 days in a row. She was caring and also on top of everything! She constantly checked on us. Sylvia, Wendy, Stephanie and Jennifer were his RTS on the peds floor! Each of them were patient with him when he didnt want to take his treatment! Dr Watson and Dr. Mackey. They were the most helpful Drs that we have had yet in his 18 months of life! They were very informative and kind. Im very excited to change pediatricians!!! I just want everyone to know how wonderful my experience was here! This hospital was one of the bests I have ever been too!!!!!!!
