My daughter was brought into the emergency room after a car accident - someone was speeding, ran a red light and t-boned her car. Several hours before (like 4-1/2 hours). The emergency staff smelled the beer and immediately assumed she was drunk - said because she spoke softly (which she always does) and had watery eyes (she had been crying). They told me she was extremely intoxicated, told her son she was drunk, told the security guard she was drunk. I live out of state and when I got there the next morning they released her because she had Kaiser insurance. When she got her property back she was short $60. We filed a complaint and asked to talk to the person who took her belongings. He said she was so drunk she didnt know what she had. Guess what... the blood test came back negative. While in the emergency room a name tag was placed on her wrist and it was for another person. When we requested copies of her medical records she had two other peoples names on her records. She received no treatment. - they took xrays. As it turned out she had several broken ribs, cracked vertebrae (which are still bulging out 11 months later) and a disc in her neck that was twisted into her spinal cord. Kaiser did not catch any of these injuries either. At open enroll she signed up with another insurance and 11 months later finally received her first surgery.....of course at Sutter Roseville. The surgery required cutting through her throat and to the back of her neck, the disc was removed and the very inflamed spinal cord was treated, bone marrow taken out of her hip and used as cushioning for the artificial vertebrae they use to replaced the one removed. She was taken to the "Quiet Zone" of the hospital - big signs everywhere about the Quiet Zone. She never got any sleep because the nurses and orderlies were loud, talked and laughed the entire time, some of the nurses were rude and unprofessional. A couple of the nurses were wonderful. We complained about the noise and were ignored. My daughter was in the worst pain of her life and no one had the courtesy to let her sleep when the meds kicked in because of the noise. Never started to get better until she was released. Hope I or any of my family ever have to go there again. The hospital volunteers were terrific.

My close friend had a bad experience at Sutter Roseville Medical Center. Recently my friend had a drinking episode that his relative had taken him to this hospital. The first three to four days were fine. I was told he could go home in a few days. I called on day five asking about him. He should be able to go home in a day or two. Two days later I called and I am told tomorrow. I show up and they say tomorrow. Meanwhile the cost for him, without insurance, is reaching a price he may not be able to pay. My friend wanted to leave but the nurses kept hooking him up for intravenous drip five or more times a day for what, he doesnt even know? The doctor treated him for seven days, heavily medicating him intravenously and telling me "that the patient was asking for the drugs" ( which my friend was clearly denies ) My friend had everything check out as normal. Certainly nothing that couldnt be treated for with a prescription at home. I asked for his property to be returned and they didnt know what happened to it. We find out later with pictures of the thief on his stolen cell phone, it was someone at the hospital! He was intimidated by the doctor and staff, telling him he needed to be treated by them. Twice my friend was told he would be talking to someone about getting insurance. Then no one did. At this point my friend and I needed to leave. He was not getting any better. He was pale, weak and very drowsy. After he came home the next day he was in much better condition. My friend is seeing his doctor in Auburn and will choose Auburn Sutter Faith Hospital for any hospital needs. They are the best at caring for people!

this place should be closed - the doctor that "treated" my daughter was rude and condenscending believing that he his God and the rest of us can just bow down. We spent 6-7 nours there when they were running about 50% capacity so he was not under pressure. After going in for an ultra sound of the lower abdomen you would think we might get fast service as something could rupture but we waited while the staff discussed personnel problems until they had time to check us in. Then they ran a gambit of tests some of which we just ran an hour before at Med7 and supplied them the results but no they want their own test and monies. After a second urine test, blood tests and finally the ultra sound which is what we really needed we waited and waited for results until i asked the nurses desk if the doctor was going to give us the results - he said that he would get to us to go back in our cubby hole essentially. We waited another hour and finally left in disgust. Did they ask us why we were leaving, no. did they even notice - NO, when they finally went to our cubby hole and i assumed figured out that we had left... did they call us with an apology and the results...NO Not even 24 hours later did they call... NO oh but wait they did get our insurance and a $250 co-pay paid while we were waiting and waiting before we left. The doctor has to work at an ER because he would go broke in private practice with his demeanor and lack of service. They could have and should have kept us notified that they were busy and a timeline of when they would have results... AHoles

The doctors are not knowledgeable at all - they only treat symptoms with prescription medications that cause worse side effects than the original condition. Both my dermatology and internal medicine doctors did not listen to my concerns and were at a loss for what treatment I needed and did little to figure out what was needed. I would get bounced around from doctor to doctor without much explanation and little resolve. Sutter is also VERY EXPENSIVE and they will not let you know office visit costs ahead of time or provide you with billing codes to at least contact your insurance provider AFTER a visit to see how much you may be billed for. Where else do you get a service and not know how much you will pay? They told me an office visit would be between $100-600.. that is a $500 dollar difference.. for me that is significant and I would imagine most patients would like to know ahead of time! I will not go back to Sutter.

Every hospital weve been to has either had horrible nurses or 24-hour waiting times in the emergency room. We waited an hour, were sent straight to a room, and my father received all the attention he needed, and then some. The staff was respectful, attentive, and kind. Really, I had no worries leaving him in their care. They even assigned him a new primary doctor and pain management specialist per his request. I had no clue hospitals could be that... functional. It was surprising, to say the least.
