Weve been taking our Doberman and 2 cats to Special Friends for over a year now and we love them! We started going on the suggestion of some friends because they loved them and the vet offers a military discount. It isnt difficult to get appointments, they are very knowledgeable, willing to work with you, happy to give advice over the phone, return phone calls quickly, and really care about your animals. Our two cats are very skittish about going to the vet but they are always very gentle with them and understanding of their fear. They know who you and your animals are, you arent just a number. They even asked how our Dobermans ongoing digestive issues were progressing when we brought in our cats. I dont know if they saw his record in with the cats or if they just knew but either way it is appreciated. They are always very open to our ideas and willing to help us figure things out instead of just pushing expensive products on us. They offer them but you never leave feeling like they hate you for not buying their foods. I do have to say what they offer is competitively priced for what it is. Ive never felt like they were lecturing me or trying to make me feel like a bad pet parent, even when I did mess up something or didnt follow what they suggested. Our Doberman loves going in there because everyone fawns over him and he gets a cookie after every exam and sometimes some just because. As long as she is working we get his favorite vet tech, too. Dr. Kish even called us at home a week after a visit to be sure our Dober-boy was progressing well, something she didnt have to do. We will continue to go to Special Friends until life takes us out of the Aurora area.

Am not one to give reviews but this came up as a recommendation and I was reminded of my experience. About a year ago we moved into the area, we had recently become aware that our dog that we had taken in from some aquaintences was peeing blood so we took her in right away. Turns out she had a stone in her bladder. The vet told us that medication would be enough to disolve the stone and she would pee it out. Turns out 2 months after we initially took her in, the stone had actually gotten bigger! This is $1,000 later, with the lab tests and medication. All the vet told us was that sometimes it didnt work! And of course right away they had the other agreement ready to sign for a $2,500 surgery! I walked out furious, not only because it didnt work but because our Luna had been suffering for an unnecessary 2 months. Took her in to Planned Pethood the next day, scheduled her surgery and did it right away all for a total of $650! Maybe this place is good for small check ups, but for big things they will try to squeeze every penny they can.

I got my second cat from the Dumb Friends League and little did I know he had an eye infection and an upper respiratory infection. I brought him to the Dumb Friends League because I didnt want to pay for everything since they told me he wasnt sick in the first place. After two visits and the same antibiotics, I decided to suck it up and pay Special Friends to check him out. He started getting better that same night because they prescribed him the medicine he needed. I love Special Friends. Both of my cats go to see them for their annual visits or if they are sick. I think their customer service is great. They are always willing to work around my busy schedule and even my cats like the vets there. They are always so gentle when working with them. Thanks Special Friends!!!

I have taken my dogs here for the last two years but recently I have decided to leave because of their very poor customer service. I have been trying to call the clinic for 3 days and the phone just rings, and rings with no one to answere and no answering maching. Come on!!!!! really???? it is 2012 and you do not have an answering service??? I even went on the website to try to contact them by email. They have you register and then tell you that you will have an account set in in 24 hours. It has been 48 hours and I still do not have an account set up to even contact the clinic through their web site. Instead of spending lots of money on a web page why dont you spend some money on hiring decent people that can answer the phone.

This place just wants your money. I brought my dog in for a simple ear infection, three weeks after having her on medicine her infection is ten times worse. I called to bring her back in and they refused to see her, they instead gave me different medicine. My dogs entire ear is blistered now and this place wont even look at it without me paying another exam fee. Terrible doctors, terrible customer service.

We were referred to Special Friends days after moving to CO for our dogs emergency. They squeezed us in right despite not having been clients before. We have (unfortunately) been regulars at Special Friends because of our accident-prone dog and senior cats. I know they are receiving excellent care. We especially love Dr. Kish! I just wish they offered a military discount.

This vet is great! My dogs seem to always have something wrong with them, and in the last few months we have been in multiple times for multiple reasons. They are always able to get me an appointment when I need it, and I have never had to wait once I arrive to my appointment. Everyone is super friendly and treats my dogs great. I would highly recommend them to anyone

People were friendly but not professional. Didnt helped my poor dog at all I had to take my dog to the animal hospital cause this people didnt even know how to read the bloodtest results. They transfer me to the animal hospital where finally I had to out my dog to sleep because it wast to late for him

They were super friendly and polite, just got my dog from the shelter. They did her checkup and got her going with a few shots she was missing. Also had their groomer trim her paws with out an appointment which was great (she needed it) defiantly be using their services.

I live on the other side of town, and drive 30 minutes both ways to go to Special Friends. Thats how great they are. When you find a place that cares for a pet like its their own, you dont even bother looking anywhere else. LOVE and trust this place!

Worst customer service ever!!! If you love your animal and actual want he or she to be taken care of do not take your pet here. I went here when my dog was attacked by another dog they did absolutely nothing to help my baby.
