I am very grateful to have had such a great experience with First Choice Emergency Room. My husband and I brought our daughter in because after many trips to Urgent Care and what seemed to be lack of response to the antibiotics she was on, we decided to take her in since her fever spiked to 104.6 and we were concerned. We walked in and were welcomed within seconds by Katie at the front and then taken to the back within the first few minutes we were there. We were given the ppwk to fill out in the back which is unusual as most places you are required to fill that out prior to being seen so I definitely appreciated that! Dr. Kosmowski and his clinical team did wonderfully with our daughter and despite the fact that she didnt like being there, she has been more calm here than even at her own PCPs office! He took the time to listen to our concerns and the nurse that took her vitals did great as well. There was even another nurse that went to get her a popsicle while she was getting all of this done. That was a great added touch to the amazing care that my daughter was already receiving. Even though the dx ended up being what my husband and I though all along, we were very happy to find that the abx that she was taking helped with the ear infection that she had prior and that her ears were healing. Also, I received a call from Dr. Hornbaker the following day who was calling to follow up to see how my daughter was feeling. What amazing patient care!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being available, considerate, and compassionate when it came to caring for our little one. By far the best ER I have ever been to-not that this will be an established "hang-out"! :)

I took a nasty tumble down a flight of stairs and knew I needed immediate medical attention. Despite living very close to both Penrose and Memorial North, I decided that an urgent care facility would be the fastest route. We drove past a couple of other urgent facilities that appeared closed (7 pm on a Saturday night), and so we were relieved to see that this facility was open 24/7. There were a few cars out front, and someone standing outside, but did not appear busy. When we walked into the waiting room, there was no one sitting down, but we were greeted immediately by nice girl behind the desk. We hadnt even began the paperwork before we were brought back to be seen. My nurses, Cameron and Diana are two of the nicest nurses and people I have had the pleasure to meet. They were incredibly caring, understanding, patient, and kind. They were attentive and took their time to be with me and understand my pain and what I was going through. Laura is the nurse that took me for a CAT scan. That process was nerve racking, but she was kind and kept telling me I was doing great. My doctor was Randy Maul, and he also had great bedside manner. He was also attentive and caring, with a good sense of humor. He ensured that I was always numb enough throughout getting stitches, and made sure that I was comfortable throughout his examinations. He went above and beyond, and called me twice the following day from his cell phone to make sure that I was alright. Overall, I am beyond pleased with my experience at First Choice Emergency Room. I never plan on returning there, but if I forced to make such a decision again, I know that they will be MY first choice!

Go to an actual ER ! This place has no care, no feeling for patients in my opinion. I went in with a severe head cold issue, waited over 20 minutes in the waiting room ( not bad Ill agree) however, while in there, one of the employees came through the lobby with a can of disinfectant spraying any and everything in there. Im all for keeping germs at bay but she sprayed so much I had to go outside. It was really bad! If I get better it will be because of how much of that stuff I inhaled! I was finally called back to a room where 2 staff did my intake. One was ok the other seemed very rude like I was an inconvenience to her. After they left I was able to watch a 45 minute program on my phone in bits and pieces bc I kept feeling like I was going to throw up. After they left not once did anyone come check on me, offer water (which they had done for others) so after an hour I left. No one tried to stop me or ask any questions I was just allowed to leave. Its been every bit of 25 minutes since I left and not so much as a phone call! I dont know what is going on with this place but they desperately need to have management come in and take a good long look at whats going on here and what is wrong with staff and this place! Trust me, if insurance is charged Ill let them know exactly what happened because I feel it would be very fraudulent to charge insurance for absolutely no reason and no service rendered! I will not return to this location as Id rather drive to Denver looking for better service then to sit for over an hour and not have anyone even check on me! Good luck if you decide to go here. I really hope you get treated better then I was!

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL I took my mother to this facility because she had an UPSET stomach (Unknown cause) and a SWOLLEN FOOT from Fire Ant Bites. The Doctor (Richard Kirkpatrick) didnt even bother examining her foot he told her she had a FUNGUS WHICH SHE DOES NOT! And proceeded to prescribe her an anti-fungal lotion for her foot for ant bites which we explained had happened several days before her visit. He insisted it was a fungus. (he again never even examined her foot) BUT even before all that when my mom had explained to the Nurse what was going on, the nurse steps one foot out the door and across the room shouts out to everyone at the clinic "She has Diarrhea and a fat foot" to what the doctor also shouting replies "AT LEAST SHES ALIVE" How DISRESPECTFUL there were other patients there who Im 100% sure heard everything they said my poor mom was humiliated. Then they doctor diagnoses her with Salmonella WITHOUT TESTING a fecal sample and gives her of course an antibiotic. This visit was so disappointing the Doctor and Nurse did NOT listen to our concerns and poorly diagnosed her. We had to go back a doctor the next day because her foot was so much more swollen it looked like it was going to burst! WILL NEVER EVEN LOOK IN THEIR DIRECTION AGAIN! and I have told all my family and friends and will continue to do so. Do NOT go here beware of costs too this is not an Urgent care it is an "Emergency Room" and as so they are willing to let you die with a FEE! Disgusting! *We saw a Doctor who confirmed Fire Ant bites and Prescribed STEROIDS and Allergy Medication. My mother is feeling better. Thank God for SMART, DEDICATED DOCTORS!

I arrived with anaphylaxis from food, suffering from swelling of tissues, hives, and was told they dont take Medicare, so they cant help me. I was like, seriously?! I am having a life-threatening emergency and you are turning me away?!? Fortunately, a nurse came by and corrected the front desk person (who took more than 20 seconds to show up after I arrived, hollering hello!). They took me back promptly and began treating the reaction. I was not impressed by the fact that the CT tech was to start the IV, even after I said I am NOT a good draw, you might want to go for the hand and save yourself time. Needless to say (or not), she assured me shed get it, yet missed, dug around, and left a nasty, three inch bruise that hurts days afterward. The nurse got in there and went to my hand like I said in the first place, and viola, IV inserted. What I did like: the nurse was very good - I think his name was Lance? Bald guy. Dr. #1 did not impress me that night as his bedside manner was non-existent, but he did call back the next day to see how I was doing (not well), and clarified some Rx instructions. He was so friendly the next day, I was unsure if it was Dr. #1, or Dr. #2 who arrived after #1 left. Dr. #2 was MUCH nicer and I wished he had been around the whole time. Alas and alack. The care was fine, I was glad to have been out of there in about 1.5 - 2 hrs. If it werent for those odd experiences that night, I would have nothing but good things to say about this place.
