Do not take your reptiles here. I brought in a snake that was sick. They recommended sending off for a $150+ test that would take 4 days, but did nothing to empirically treat the sick snake. I left with the snake and no help or medication, just a test being sent off. 3 days later the snake died. I did not call them to tell them. The next day they called to let me know the results came back and everything was "fine". Thats when I informed them that the snake had died. I got a lame apology, no offer to talk to the vet, or any recommendation for the rest of my collection. I went to another vet locally who specializes in exotics and was told that the test was a waste of time and money and he was shocked nothing was done to treat the snake immediately. The snake was gravid (due to lay in a week) so I cut the dead snake open to try and at least salvage the eggs, but they died as well. Big waste of about $200 and a dead snake and her eggs. I realize the snake may have died anyways, and I may have waited too long to bring her in, but they could have done more to TRY to prevent it and when they called offer help for the rest of my collection... Do not bring reptiles here. Find a local vet that treats exotics and knows what hes talking about.

Yes, I would recommend my family and friends to the University Animal Clinic. I wanted to make that statement first before continuing with my recommendation. My husband and I bought a home in Sarasota in late October. We just arrived for the season and have been frantically looking for a Veterinarian for our two dogs. One dog is 14 years old and had several problems and we are very careful about where we take him. It has taken the best of two months looking and doing homework to find a place we might feel a level of comfort. We choose this clinic based on reviews and a gut instinct. We made an appointment when our dog became ill a few days after we arrived. The staff was great getting us in for an appointment with Dr. Sam. She was very helpful and very knowledgeable. A few days later he took a turn for the worst and we had to let go of our precious pet. This was devastating for us but, we are grateful we choose this clinic with these people at this time . From the first phone call to those last moments, they could not have been more professional. This Animal Clinic is probably one of the best we have ever been associated with, and our other dog will definitely be a patient.

"We moved a great distance from our vet, whom we had visited for years, so we had to find a new one. We did not have good experiences in our search, so a friend of mine recommended University Animal Clinic. I have to say, we were very apprehensive on our first visit, but it wasnt very long before Dr. Sam put our minds at rest. In addition, it was extremely obvious that the staff members cared about each animal that came into the clinic. Each of our dogs ended up having surgery at this clinic and I have to say, we were very impressed with the care that the dogs were given. We received calls during and after surgery, letting us know how they were doing. On each of those occasions, after the dog was home, we receive calls and text messages from the staff checking to see how our pup was doing. In addition, their Wellness Plan made veterinarian care very simple for us. I did the math and it benefited us to take them up on their plan and we have not regretted it. We would highly recommend University Animal Clinic to anyone who truly cares about quality veterinarian care for their animals."

I recently moved down here from New Jersey, my little girl (Shih Tzu named Pucci) is 13 years old and had gone to the same vet up there since she was 3 months old, I was reluctant to get a new vet but had no other choice. First, I got an appointment right away as a new patient, didnt have to wait more than 2 days or so, secondly, I was greeted by the friendly staff and was impressed with how nice and clean the office was. We were seen right away by Courtney who was great, very kind and attentive, then Dr Fink. I am very happy with my decision to go to University Animal Clinic. Dr Fink really took her time with us, shes very compassionate, patient and kind, and did I mention honest which you dont always find. I am happy and lucky to have had two excellent vets in Puccis lifetime, first ker dr back in NJ and now Dr Fink. She also has called me since our visit to follow up and check on Pucci. Im a customer for life and would highly recommend this clinic.

Dr Samanowitz and Dr Fink are amazing! Truly caring for all pets! My mom and I bring our dog Trixie here because Dr Fink had seen another dog of my mothers and my mother absolutely loves her! (Dont worry Dr Samanowitz, she really likes you too!) Another person my mom enjoys Melinda at the front desk. My mom comments how she always seems to have a great attitude and greets everyone that comes in with a smile! Trixie is also peculiar who she likes. She doesnt like men and has lunged for them. She used to growl at anyone else but didnt bite. I worried about how Trixie would act, but she surprised me by not doing anything (least when she was in the room with us lol). Thank you Dr Fink and Dr Samanowitz for everything you have done and keep up the great work! And thank you to the entire team who help keep the hospital going as well!

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Rill for many years with mixed experiences - sometimes good, sometimes not so good - but my last experience is unforgivable. Dr. Rill watched my dog continually decline over a three week period and failed to recognize what was immediately obvious to two other veterinarians. It was only by the grace of God that Dr. Rill was out of the office last Wednesday and Layla was seen by Dr. Feldman, who immediately recognized that she was in critical care and needed to be hospitalized for round the clock monitoring. Unfortunately, it was too late for Layla. She died the next morning. Dr. Rill took no responsibility for his failure to diagnose my dog while under his care. This is what we pay and trust our veterinarians to do and he did not do his job. Dont take your sick pet to him, please.

Just Say No. Dr Rill has proven himself to be only about the dollar. Very disappointed in the level of service my dog was provided. 6 months of incorrect diagnosis after another combined with improper treatments led to over $600 for a simple ear infection. I took the same dog to another vet and they cleared up his ear within a week. Other reviews note the doctors disengaged demeanor. I agree 100%. The experience at the clinic disintigrated with Dr Rills involvement. Dr Fellman was a nice vet she was cleaning up Dr Rills mistake and didnt do enough to correct it unfortunately. I cannot recomend this practice to anyone with a clear conscience. The money was the first priority by far.
