On February 10th, 2007 I took my son to Dr. Gules office to have resin applied to both of hid fron teeth. He was great and very uunderstandable to the cosmetic concerns that my ten year had, that he returned to the room in order to refinish the shape of the teeth. On July 2007, one of the repaired teeth broke off. When I called the office to schedule a visit for the tooth to be repaired, Ann (Office Manager) told me that they no longer accepted my insurance, I appoligized and thanked her. When I called my insurance they told me that Dr. Gules office did accept my insurance until December of 2007. I called the office again in the attempt to explain to them what the insurance company said to me. Ann advised to get a letter from the insurance company saying that Ideal Dental continued to accept my insurance until December 2007. After I hung the phone it seemed very strange that the office themselves did not know that they still accepted our insurance, but I went ahead and called the insurance company to receive the letter. I October 1st I receive the letter and I called the office again to schedule a visit to repair the tooth. When I got to the office they told me that because I had waited more than 6 months that they did not guaranteed the tooth. I spoke with Ann (Office Manager) and told her that I was the person that had been talking to her about the insurance and that is why I did not have an earlier appointment. Ann told my husband and I that the rules of the office were as such and that there was nothing I can do. As surprised and upset that I was, I had Dr. Gule repair my sons tooth while they charged me $45 and the insurance company $105. It has been two weeks and the same tooth has fallen off. I called the office to schedule an appointment for the repair and Ann (office manager) told me that I would have to pay for it and the insurance company would be charged for the rest. I could not believe what I was hearing, I explained to her that not even a month has gone by and the tooth broke off. She said "I will not argue with you and this is the way it will be if you want it fixed". I told her that I wanted to speak with Dr.Gule and very annoyed, she asked me for my name and number and told me that she would give him the message. She also hung the phone up after saying "You have a wonderful day, mam". I cannot believe how unethical this business is being conducted. I will wait and see if I get a call back, but I will definitely not return to this office.

As a previous Director for Doctors Walk In Clinics and New Tampa Imaging I had found a Dentist I loved when I met Dr. Michael Derakshan. He has preformed several crown procedures on me with expert care. Yet, it saddens me to write this complaint. I was very disappointed when my favorite Dentist allowed implementation of office policies so unfriendly? I went for my usual annual exam and biannual cleaning. I was asked if I wanted X-Rays. I declined since I am working as an X-ray technologist at the moment and was not having any current problem. The office had many prior X-Rays for any baseline references. I was told by the hygienist that I could not have an examination by the Dentist because I refused the X-Rays. He promised to keep an eye on a molar that had a slight crack, which is better done by inspection, so refusing to perform an examination is quite perplexing. The cleaning procedure started with gum measurements. I had some poor readings in my ULQ, and LLQ. Therefore, the hygienist refused to perform my annual cleaning. I would need to submit to a higher level of cleaning, which is very expensive. I was also informed that once I submitted to this higher level, I would be on it for life. Once again, probably news a Dentist should be delivering and not a hygienist. My experience on my last visit was filled with intimidation to submit to higher levels of service or no services would be rendered. I was forced to sign "Release of Liability Forms" The entire experience made me feel very uncomfortable. Something I would not want others to experience. As a Director of Medical Practices with 20 years experience, I am well aware of techniques to build practice revenues. IMO, Advanced Dental Care needs to revise their policies to retain current patients and NEVER refuse a Dental Exam on someone willing to pay for it. "Policies before Patients" is not the motto to successful practice building but one Advanced Dental has chosen.

Ive worked as a caregiver for years putting others needs before my own. Unfortunately as a result, Ive neglected my health including my teeth for years. So naturally I needed a lot of work done when I first started going to ADC. However, I was pregnant and unable to get very much done right away. But since our babys birth, my husband and I (who both use ADC) have tried to get back on schedule with our treatment plans. But lately Ive had a lot of difficulty with my appointments. For example for my last appointment, I was told Id be doing one thing. Yet when I got there I was told that I needed something else entirely (A mistake on the part of the person who locked in my appt by not verifying information.) Today I tried to set an appointment for an extraction that was part of my initial treatment plan and I was snapped at put on hold twice, and then hung up on when I finally asked the young women her name. Of course, Ive called back twice since then and am now unable to receive any assistance at all. At this point Im in pain and just want to make sure I have my questions answered to avoid any misunderstandings when I get there. Its unfortunate that the people on the phone and at the front desk are so abrupt and rude as they represent the office as a whole being the first and last point of contact for your patients. I dont generally like to write reviews, but what about customer service? This is ridiculous. I literally have no idea if my appointment for the end of the month was confirmed bc she didnt call me back after we "got disconnected". Did I mention Im in pain? Can someone please respond to this post and let me know how to proceed?

So I have had so many issues with my teeth. Went to advanced dental care of Brandon and they are amazing. Dr. Thuy Nguyen is soooo compassionate, funny, caring, kind hearted and honest. She goes over and beyond the norm, which was very refreshing for me. Her assistant Danielle is unbelievable as well. She is so friendly, intelligent, and nice. So glad she works with Dr. Thuy. Dr. Mike is also great at root canals, for real, you wont feel a thing. And in regard to finances, they really do work with you. Which is awesome. Especially since a lot of people wont. Cant say enough good things about them. And just as an example, I had to schedule my appts this week in a weird way due to the fact that my dad has been having a rough time in the hospital, mind you, Ive done all of this over the phone. The minute I walked to the front desk the receptionist and Danielle saw me and immediately asked how I was and how my dad was doing. They really do care, its not just a business.
