We just moved to the area and were a bit pensive about finding a new dentist. McIlwain Dentistry came recommended by co-workers, as did Bright Now Dentistry. I called both. The woman at Bright Now was super nice and accommodating over the phone, but they wont do a cleaning the same day as your initial appt. Its a real inconvenience to have to come back twice for me, so I opted to not go here. When I called McIlwain, I spoke with Zaida who was amazing! She also was super nice and accomodating. They were able to get me in the very next day and the appointments for my husband and daughter are next week. Upon arrival, they had my form all ready and I only had to wait a few minutes to be called back. I believe the womans name was Shaniah(?) and she was very nice. Dr. C, who was very personable, then checked over my teeth. Since I had just had x-rays at my previous dentist earlier this year, they did not make me get them again. He did not make me feel rushed and I felt comfortable that if I had questions or concerns, he would have spent the time to answer them to my satisfaction. I did have to wait for a long time (approx. 40 mins) from the time Dr. C checked my teeth to see the hygienist but they had a tv and it kept my mind off the time somewhat. They then brought me to Jane, the hygienist, who put me in one of their massage chairs (it had a slight massage to it). She was personable, did a good job and even set up my next cleaning appointment for me. Even as I was leaving, everyone was extremely friendly with smiles on their faces at the end of the day (I was one of the last patients of the day). Definitely recommend!

Dr. Ahrens is a very kind young man and he relates well to kids and teens. He has a great soft style, and is not intimidating at all for them. This makes each visit very easy. In addition he is very professional and I trust that he has my sons best interests in mind. He is using the Invisalign with my 13 yr old son. As you can imagine, most kids would rather not have braces. However with Invisalign, it has been a non-issue! Much easier than expected. I am so impressed with it, and how quickly it is working. I also would like to comment on the staff as well. Kamina is the Dental Hygenist working with my son. She is great! The sweetest and the best! She is so relatable and in-tune with the kids. My son always comments about how nice she is. I also want to mention that the office has a very easy monthly payment plan that auto charges to your credit card. This has made the experience very simple. No worries about keeping up with the payments! Overall this has been a very easy and pleasant experience for our family. I would highly recommend Dr. Ahrens and his team of professionals when the time comes for braces for your kids.

Scam artist and nasty vile office manager name Nancy. Husband was scheduled for an exam and to discuss a problem area. They only completed half of the exam and want us to pay for an additional office visit in order to do a full exam. Nancy had the audacity to blame it on my husband saying that he requested to only have a partial exam which is a complete LIE. Nancy said "He is a grown adult and should have asked for a full exam if he wanted one". He was scheduled for a FULL exam not a partial. So because he "threw them off" by asking for a second opinion on a tooth we are now going to have to pay FULL PRICE out of pocket. To top it off Nancy is beyond rude, snappy and extremely unprofessional. Dont go there, they will scam you too.

My daughter is 2 years old & I made an appointment with the gift certificate I won at the Tampa Palms Elementary School before it expired. The dentist did a quick examination & extended the time on my certificate so that we could get the proper exam needed for what we won. He took great care of my daughter (even though she freaked out a bit) & gave her lots of goodies to go home with. Im excited for her upcoming appointment so that we can continue where we left off on this visit. Im sure my next review will be 5 stars! I gave 4 since we couldnt finish what was on the certificate.

My toddler has visited twice, first time as a second opinion after feeling like we were being robbed from another place and second for checkup and cleaning. Husband has been three times and we love it! Theyre great with kids and the exam is child guided, within reason. If the child isnt having it, theyre not going to hold him down. Very quick and thorough with the kiddos. Dont feel like theyre out to rob you blind and very upfront about any out of pocket costs. Love this office! Front desk personnel is very kind and welcoming.

Love, LOVE McIlwain Dentistry. My kids have been going here since they started receiving dental care. Everyone is so nice. The atmosphere is relaxed, and I think subconsciously the kids sense that. They make a point to communicate with the parent, but are also able to include the child. This could be in the form of conversing with or maybe praising them for remaining cavity free or regular brushing. Its so many little things they do as a part of our visit that have my kids asking me to schedule their next visit! ☺

Always a pleasant experience. My son looks forward to visits and is very comfortable with all the staff. Dr. Michael McIlwain has been on point, along with the craniofacial team he is part of, with executing a plan that is perfectly falling into place for to my 7yr olds individual needs due to his cleft lip repair as an infant. Im so glad he is part of this fabulous team and we were able to meet him and his wonderful staff. Best part is knowing this family practice will there for my sons whole journey.

I have not finished with my whole orthodontic program plan yet but so far so good. Each month I notice a little better then previous days. It is amazing and I am encouraged to do what is asked of me. The office is professional and pleasant. Waits are not long and you are greeted by enthusiastic professionals. This review covers both sides of the practice: Dental and orthodontic as I have been seen on both. I will continue to use the office as long as I am in Wesley Chapel area.

This is a phenominal practice. You couldnt ask for better dental care. Their staff is so friendly and kind. Always welcoming with warm, heart felt smiles. The dentists are very gentle and take their time with each patient. They make sure you understand everything theyre recommending and really care about your needs/wants. Its a wonderful family practice, in which I would recommend to everyone. Youll walk in as a new patient and leave feeling like youre apart of the family.

I have severe anxiety and I am the hugest baby, I even have to have nitrous just for cleanings. This was by far the best dental experience Ive ever had. The dentist, hygienist, and staff were all so kind and caring. They were very understanding of my needs and were very patient and professional. They definitely live up to their reputation. I would highly recommend Dr Chiaramonte. And props to my new hygienist, Jane. You both now have a patient for life :)
