I have been a patient for three years. Today I called to make an appointment with Dr. Ed magee. I was told by the billing office i had an outstanding balance of 69.00 and I was being dismissed. I politely said I could pay it right then and there and I was very sick and needed to be seen that day and was willing to pay. She told me in order to be seen i would have to pay the past due amount plus what ever the charges were for the day. So i went in at 2pm for my appointment and when I went to check in they had cancelled my appointment and yelled at me in front of everyone in the waiting room that I owed 69.00 and needed to pay and demanded it and said I would not be seen today after I had been told by the biller that it was ok as long as i was brought current on my balance. They refused to see me made a shouting scene in the front office. Over the years, even when working there I have seen Dr. Kristy Magee incompetently and incorrectly calculate insulin levels wrong and mis treat a diabeic patient ending up the emergency room, another friend of mine whom they told not to come in if she was sick (I guess she is to only go in when she feels well??), and my self who the nurses never call back with results. I have to hunt someone down for a result. Dr. Ed Magee and seriously fallen off of his care for his patients and it is very clear the practice is all about money and not about patient care. If you are sick or looking for a new physician, yes they will be your friend and take your money, but treat your illness/problems you are better off dying in the emergency room. :(

These are wonderful physicians, both my husband and I are patients and found it a refreshing change from the cookie cutter money making machine physicians group where we had been patients previously. I do think the front desk staff could be a little friendlier and more efficient, but the mediocrity of front desk staff in physicians offices seems to be epidemic and I personally dont feel it reflects the competence level of the physician. There is a review on local yahoo that criticizes Dr. K. for being beyond reproach?!! I find my experience with her completely opposite. She is always asking me what *I* think, how *I* feel about her prescribed therapy. I was also in a position where I didnt agree with a course of treatment prescribed by her nurse practitioner, and I complained. I was absolutely impressed by the level of RESPECT with which my complaint was handled. The doctor responded to my e-mail and the problem was solved within hours. Hardly the behavior of a staff that is beyond reproach? This office is the last of a dying breed of health care facilities that treat patients as PEOPLE instead of paychecks. I recommend it highly.

The negative reviews on this place kill me. "They sent me to a place that doesnt take my insurance." Um, thats not their responsibility, its yours. Its your insurance, not theirs. "They told me a booster wasnt needed, I called my insurance they said it was." Of course your insurance is going to tell you to get one because they want to cover their butts. A simple google search will tell you less than 10 years and youre good." How about accepting some personal responsibility instead of complaining because you cant handle your own business? Anyways, I love this place. Dr. Ed is always patient, talks with me and lets me know where I stand and if I need to do anything for my personal health. The staff is welcoming and fits me in when its a pinch. Patient portal gives you easy access to upload and view health information. Recommended.

I have been a patient for a few years. I havent had any problems with Dr. Kristy Magee; however, my husband went to see Dr. Ed Magee and weve seen how the practice only cares about its pocketbook and not the patient, in our case, especially, Dr. Ed Magee. The staff made an error, not once, but twice with lab tests, sending my husband and a biopsy to the wrong lab (a lab not approved by our insurance). Instead of covering the cost of their error, they would prefer lose us as patients than pay a $200 lab fee, or even work with the lab to forgive the fee. Its sad to think my business isnt even worth $200 to Dr. Ed Magee.Too bad for him, it will cost more to replace us.

Unfortunately, my experiences with Lake Mary Physicians and Dr. Magee have been extremely disappointing. Not only did I have to wait four weeks for a simple prescription to be called in (after several reminders) but I had to walk out of an appointment after waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes to see Dr. Magee. I get and appreciate capitalism, but doctors shouldnt take on more than they can handle. In the end, it will only hurt their business. We just moved up here and now I need to find another doctor. Bummer... On a side note the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I see a lot of positive reviews...perhaps i just have bad luck.

I started with Ed and Kristy back when the practice was relatively new. At that time they were focused on providing the best health care possible. Now I fear their focus has changed to money. Theyve split the practice but both follow new rules now. Maybe get in to see them in 3 to 4 months. Never get to speak to a nurse. Maybe if you leave a message they might call you back. The sad part is I am insured to the hilt, but when only dollars rule this is the level of care and commitment you get. What a shame. Two of the finest doctors Ive seen both turned into money grubbing jerks.

You know the form that you hate to fill out every time you see your Doctor? You know, the one that has your contact info, emergency contact, etc., it was filled out and waiting for my review. Just make any necessary changes and take a seat. The reception was and exam rooms were spotless. Friendly staff and attentive Doctor was impressive. My scrip was transmitted to my pharmacy and I was given a written copy of my diagnosis, prognosis and detailed instructions on what was expected during the healing process. This was my second visit and I was impressed.

My girlfriend was recommended with intense suffering. She was told after asking if an emergency visit was available that she was crazy to think she might be able to see someone in an emergency. She was not a "patient". We have top flight insurance and jobs, this was never asked. It may beneficial for the doctor's to give further training to their idiotic, flippant and arrogant secretaries before costing themselves what would have been as it seems a positive review. We will never know now.

The furniture in the waiting room needs to be cleaned. On another note.....I stepped on a rusty nail from the new roofers. I called the office which told me my shot was in the seventh year and was still good. Still feeling uncomfortable I called my insurance nurse. She told me I needed a new shot. I went in the next morning and did receive the shot, however after being given the shot the staff made the statement of well I hope the insurance company pays for it.
