I called centra care earlier to make sure they took my insurance. They said they did. When I got to the clinic I asked the front desk ivy(the one that sits at the front) again to make sure because my colleague told me she got turned around 2 weeks prior because they didnt accept the insurance (which she had also called in). So I asked the front desk once I arrived and she did not respond to me. I asked her a second time as she was looking at my card and still did not respond. I asked her a third time and she abruptly answered with an attitude and said yes and I told you this over the phone. So it was clear that she was irritated because I called in and then came in asking again. She was extremely unprofessional as I work in a health related field and know and understand how patients should be treated. It was clear that she didnt like that I was asking her a question she had already answered over the phone. She also went on to argue with me about answering my question the first time I asked (which she did not). I even asked the other front desk lady sitting next to her if she heard a response out of her and she said maybe she nodded her head. Ivy also proceeded to tell me she loved her job which I dont even understand where that would have come from. And Jonathan the manager came up and asked if there was a problem and just stood there supervising as I finished my paperwork. It was a very unwelcoming and uncomfortable situation to be in. And as I left they did not even say have a nice day or anything as I walked out and I even stood in the hall looking for my keys. . So I get back to my job (I went there on my lunch break) and call up there to get the name of the young lady at the front desk (ivy). Exactly 3 minutes after, there was a call from a private number to my job asking for me (by first and last name). Ironically I was right by my coworker when this call came in and immediately recognized the voice. The call was placed on hold and I answered with my first name and the lady on the other line hung up. . I contacted Jonathan who is the manager of the clinic and he didnt even offer to give me a call back once this situation was resolved. I called Jonathan back and he stated that he doesnt think his employees called my job because they dont have caller Id on their phone (and during our first phone conversation he told me they did have caller id). He was not pleasant to talk and didnt seem like he wanted to help resolve the situation at all. I really feel sorry for the providers at this clinic because they were great to me. . Now on another note, this review would get 5 stars if it wasnt for the front desk staff. I was taken to the back by the nurse and the doctor and they were very professional and friendly. The doctor was actually very diligent and took his time with my diagnosis. The doctor also came back in the room to check something else on me before sending my prescription to the pharmacy. . My experience with the staff was an utter disappointment and I will not be seen there again.

I had originally planned to go to another Centra Care location, but the reviews were abysmal. Since Centra Care is the only walk in clinic that takes my insurance and is close to my home, I looked for another location. The University location is actually closer to my home, and though there was only 1 review, it was positive. I went last weekend, for an injured sciatic nerve. I checked in and made an appointment online. Though there were quite a few patients in the waiting room, I was called within 20 minutes of my arrival, maybe less. The nurse, Jeff, could not have been more kind or professional. That is a find line to walk for a health care professional, and he did it perfectly. When my blood pressure reading was exceedingly high, they expedited my visit, realizing that I was in a lot of pain, since my blood pressure usually runs on the low side. Dr. Willis was on call. He ordered 3 lower back x-rays, which were done quickly and painlessly. I was most impressed with the follow up call the next day, to see how I was doing. Also, they called me just 3 days later, to share the radiologists diagnosis of my x-ray. Im so relieved that I have this location so close by, with such a competent, caring staff. Most people only write negative reviews, but it really helps other potential patients, if we share our good experiences as well.

Dont waste your time. Horrible wait time even with a reservation. They only want your money. Since this center was located right by my university it seemed convenient. I called ahead to get information about insurance, copay, and walk-ins or appointments. There is a copay of $35. They said make a reservation and you wont have to wait. Therefore, I made a reservation at 2 pm. I had some extra some extra time that morning at 9:30 so I figured Id try a walk-in since they just opened at 9, I was told the wait would be 2 hours. Therefore, I stuck to my reservation instead. I return at 1:35 pm for my reservation, I waited until 2:45 and I still wasnt seen I just cancelled and left. Worst wait times Ive ever witnessed. Also its a hassle to find the entrance to lot, should have an enter sign. Im not from here, Im used to Baptist Hospital Urgent Care where the wait time is no longer than 30 mins, they cater to their patients, and no copay. You could learn a thing or two from them.

The staff was kind. Unfortunately thats the only positive thing I have to say about the experience. The doctor was far from thorough and appeared to blindly prescribe antibiotics. Furthermore, they set a follow up visit date without confirming that the day and time worked with my schedule. In fact, they didnt mention the follow up appointment at all. Instead, they marked the day and time in the paperwork I was provided when leaving and assumed I would know to look there. After the antibiotics ran out, my illness had not subsided. As such, I called the office explaining the matter. They wished for me to come and be reevaluated (paying another copay in the process). After voicing my frustration over the matter, I was transferred to the manager. The manager stated "I understand your frustration. As a one time courtesy, Id be happy to bill you for the copay instead of making you pay upfront". Some courtesy! (extreme sarcasm). I will never return.

This Urgent care has a remarkable wonderful staff, I can honestly say that Im not too fond of hospitals , clinics, ERs because all of these places (even the Uregent care thats on Waterford) had a not so good experience. This particular urgent care made me feel welcomed the very second i walked through the door. I explained them my situation as to my insurance and financial situation and they were eager to work with me handled in a nicely professional matter. And what was made clear to me was when the nice lady with the short blonde hair in the front (forgive me im bad with names) lol she mentioned in the end what mattered was for me to get well and taken care of. ..I dont think Ive ever been told that. Thank u❤ And just to add its clean and also fast place where u dont have to wait half of your day. Just simply amazing . Thank u for your service ! Two thumbs up
