In all my life I have never written a bad review about any place I have ever visited. I am a very easy person to please and give everyone the benefit of a doubt. I am from Jacksonville and went to this urgent care because I was visiting friends. While I was visiting I broke my pinky finger and wanted to be seen and given an xray. I wasnt sure if New Smyrna Urgent Care had an xray machine because I know some do and some dont in Jacksonville. Immediately upon entering I asked the receptionist if they had an xray machine. Instead of answering me she pushed a clipboard in front of me and told me to fill out the paperwork. I asked again and she once again didnt answer me. I thought she was just having a bad day like me so I shrugged it off. I filled out the paperwork and about 30 minutes later I was seen. After telling the doctor I believe my finger is broken and that I want an xray, the doctor immediately responded telling me they dont have an xray machine. I was extremely annoyed because I already paid my $100 copay and they couldnt even do the one thing I wanted. The doctor handed me a motrin, of which I didnt take and gave it back because I knew I had to go elsewhere and dont want medication taken yet, wrote me a prescription for motrin (lol.. really?!), did a terrible job taping my fingers (didnt splint it), and wrote me orders to go to the er. (Duh.) I went to the er and got an xray, a proper splint, and the care I needed. A month goes by and a receive a bill for over $400 from New Smyrna Urgent Care. I read over it and apparently my insurance just cancelled the day before my visit. I was between jobs at the time. The problem I saw was "Why am I getting charged $400+ after already paying $100 for NOTHING?!" I tossed it in the trash. Yesterday I received a call from a collector in their office. I explained the visit and that literally the only thing they did was a terrible tape job to my fingers. She insisted I pay the $400+ and I asked for a supervisor. The billing supervisor got on the phone and I explained the situation again. The billing supervisor was incredibly unprofessional. I have worked collections myself and I was baffled at how rude she was. I told her I thought it was shady to charge me more money after I spent $100 already. She said I was seen by the doctor, wrote an rx for motrin, and because of that I am due the $400+. She then said "Youre the shady one getting seen by the doctor and refusing to pay for your services!" I was shocked, cussed her out, and hung up. NEVER GO HERE. THEY KNEW I wanted an xray and knew that if they told me they didnt have the machine that I would go elsewhere. Now they are trying to collect hundreds from me and they couldnt even help me and referred me to an er. DO NOT go here. They care only about money and are so unprofessional. I absolutely refuse to give someone hundreds of my hard earned money when theyre rude, shady, tricked me, and didnt even help me! Such bad business and I will be sure to tell everyone I know and post a bad review anywhere I can.

This place is terrible! I took my daughter in for an ear infection, and waited over an hour to be seen, even though there were only two other patients in the office at the time. There were a lot of staff members standing around; it appeared that everyone was more concerned with socializing than with actually helping their patients. When I hit the one-hour mark of waiting, I asked the girl at the front desk how much longer it would be - she was very rude and claimed they were "very busy" and would get to my daughter when they could. That isnt even the worst part. My daughter was seen for all of two minutes, if that, yet we received a $600 bill in the mail a month later. I have called and called, and have even spoken to the office manager, Michelle, who confirmed that I should not have received that bill - and yet, I continue to receive the same bill in the mail every month. Im at my wits end and am frustrated with attempting to get this resolved. Ive spoken to other people in the area who have had this exact same problem of being overbilled by this business. Overall - take your business elsewhere, as this place is a joke. The staff are rude, the doctor, Erin Maxwell, is a ditz, and I guarantee you WILL receive an unnecessary bill in the mail that will be a nightmare to deal with. This place really should be shut down.

This place is garbage. For starters, the first time I went there (yes, I made the stupid mistake of going twice), I got a bill in the mail a month or so later, even though I already paid my copay and my insurance already settled the bill. It was like $5, no big deal, Ill just pay it over the phone and not worry about the harassment. Boy was that stupid. The next time I chose to go there (I was very ill), I gave the same insurance to them, and paid my copay. A month later, I get a bill in the mail for $125!! WTF?? I also got a letter in the mail from my insurance company stating that Urgent Care FAILED TO PROVIDE the proper documentation and that they would not be footing the bill. Now I have an account in collections due to the incompetency of the money hungry fools. Guess what? Im not paying it. Ill pay my lawyer instead. $125 isnt even that big of a deal, but its the principle of the deal. My advice, there are several other clinics in the area that will treat you better, treat you faster, and not send you some bullshit bill in the mail later on down the road. Please learn from the experience of others and do not go here, you have been warned.

This was my first time bringing my 6 year old daughter to a walk in clinic. I wasnt sure what to expect , but Im so glad we came here . Everything was very clean and comfortable , the staff was beyond amazing, and we hardly had to wait. The woman at the front desk made the paperwork a beeeze to fill out and asked if my daughter needed anything since we had to wait a few minutes . The nurse and doctor were so patient with my daughter and didnt make her feel rushed with the checkup . When leaving the woman at the front desk, sorry I cant remember her name, gave my daughter on ice pop before we left and that really made her day :) I highly recommend this clinic for anyone with children. The children need the extra attention sometimes to feel comfort and this place made sure she got it !

The only people who log on and write reviews are those that are angry or feel they have been unjustly treated. This business is under new office management with new medical providers and nurses. Please come in and give us a try and make your own judgment. Dont just rely on these impressions. Give us one chance to treat you and show you we are a good facility. And you are charged what your insurance company tells us to charge you so if your bill is incorrect, please understand we are following instructions by your insurance company And Nikki Beal, I work at this NSBUC and I cannot find you in the system at all so Im sorry you had a bad experience but it was not at this urgent care. I believe you have us mixed up with another facility. .
