Over the past 16 months my elderly cats have needed some ?unexpected? care, starting with Sweet Peas sudden decline. I found myself on a Saturday realizing she was failing and I needed to get her in fast so she could go peacefully & comfortably. Thats when I met Dr. Klein. On Saturdays, you dont need an appointment, just walk in, when I heard that over the phone I rushed down Orange Avenue and found one of the most compassionate vet offices Ive ever been to. My first impression was from the front desk, I found compassionate ladies who even though they must be somewhat used to dying animals coming in, they still showed such individual care and genuine understanding. In the exam room, Dr. Klein and his attending tech were gentle, understanding, and very loving towards my Sweet Pea during her final moments. They werent just going through the motions, I could see and feel the love & compassion, it was palpable in the room. Their bedside manner and approach was professional as well as both patient and efficient. The next visit was Calico, who started having some kidney issues in the fall of 2011. This is when I met Dr. Craig Lautenschlager and a few more staff. I was a mess because I had just lost her sister, Sweet Pea, a few months earlier and feared Cali was going very soon too. Dr. Lautenschlager zeroed right in on her issues and had her back on her feet within a couple days and I mean feeling GOOD, playing and running and hunting. Next was Sage who unfortunately suffered a couple strokes and would not survive. Dr. Lautenschlager & his team once again assisted me and my pet with a quick & humane exit before she suffered any further. I was again impressed with the care & compassion of this team. Cali just went back in this past Saturday due to taking another nose dive in her health. Turns out shes got some protein toxins building up again, along with a couple other new concerns. He gave her some injections and fluids and said if shes not better by Monday bring her back in. Its Monday and I was happy to tell them (when they called me today to follow up on her) that shes back to popping her wheelies and peeling out for a short sprint here and there. Thank you Dr. Lautenschlager for getting her feeling great again. Dr. Lautenschlager has a wonderful and gracious bedside manner, and a good sense of humor. Hes also a good listener. He explains things very well. The staff is great from the front desk to the techs. The wait has never been long. The printed invoice statement is very easy to read and the date of service is printed nice a large so its very easy for me to keep them in order in my files. Theres a covered area for temporary parking by the front entrance where you can unload your pet in the rain or if walking is difficult. There is also a specific "IN" door and "OUT" door on opposite sides of the lobby so you are unlikely to be coming in the door with your pet while someone else is coming out with theirs. Inside the lobby theres a main waiting area to the right and then tucked around to the left is a small nook thats ideal for sitting with a pet that is easily stressed by other animals or strangers. The exam table & room has been clean every time. There is some shaded parking at the very back of the lot which is nice in the summer. I give this vet an AAA+++ and suggest you stop looking for a vet and call these people. Landmark to help you find it: They are literally right where Orange Avenue (south) splits into two one-way streets, Orange & Hansel, where you enter the north side of Edgewood/Pine Castle. Theres a small cross street right there, Oak Lynn. If youre coming from the south headed north on Orange, you can turn left on Oak Lynn and shoot straight across into their parking lot. If youre headed south on Orange, just watch for the split and as soon as you get to it youll see Pine Castle Animal Hospital on your right. Big sign.

Caught a feral kitten and brought her in the same day, first time to the vet but recommended by my brother. The doctor and assistant were so sweet and caring, she went from petrified to purring. As much as I didnt want to give her up, another family had a lonely cat and she was a perfect fit for them. Also brought in my elderly white cat with a severe limp. They brought out "The Cat Lady", and she went through all the steps of figuring out it was a very badly sprained/swollen shoulder. A quick shot and some advice, he made a full recovery. As with literally all veterinary places, you can set an appointment, but youll likely wait a while beyond that time. I cant comment on pricing because I dont go anywhere else. These folks really do care about your pets as much as you do.

We have been bringing our Chow Chow and our cat here for years. The staff, the doctors and techs are fantastic! They are so great with my Chow Chow and understand his breed and have been successfully treating his thyroid issues for years. Our most recent trip we brought in our sweet Batty cat for a swollen lip we saw Dr. Klein he is friendly and doesnt mind answering questions. Batty trusted him right away and made friends. He was able to identify her issue and treat it successfully. They always get you in especially in emergency situations. Cant say enough how great it is to have them up the street from us. Even if they are not up the street from you they are worth the drive.

Ive been taking my animals here for several years. The staff at the front desk is ALWAYS kind, friendly and helpful. They can always get me in whenever I need to schedule and they are always very on time with actually getting you into the vet, I appreciate the respect of my time! The Vets here are fabulous....they are always compassionate and gentle with both my dog and my cat. They take time to answer questions and explain everything in plain English. I was even very pleased to see that when my dog had a problem, they called a couple days later to check on her. I cant say enough good things about these guys!! If your looking for a new vet this is the place!!

They are AWESOME! From the time you walk in the door, until you pick up your dog after its appointment with the vets or grooming team - they are wonderful! My Gracie (german shepherd) loves visiting for her baths & regular appointments and on the 2 occasions that we had serious emergencies, Dr. Bill and Dr. Craig where fantastic. Both emergencies were life threatening and I am so grateful to have my Gracie under their care. Thank you PCAH - Each & every one of you are kind, knowledgable, intelligent people & I thank God I have you taking care of my dogs!

A sad time for us when we had to lose an old friend, but all of the staff at Pine Castle Animal Hospital were considerate and understanding. When the time finally came, the treatment accorded Roman can only be described as wonderful. They kept him calm and were very gentle even though Roman was a big 100 pound plus dog. They let us stay with him and administered an anesthetic so Roman could go peacefully to sleep before the final step was taken. We will never forget all of their kindnesses. Our only regret is that we did not find them before.
