Worst experience ever; I will not be taking my pet back there ever again. The morning of my dog was foaming at the mouth and having a seizure. We rushed him to the Armenia Animal Hospital and were attended to immediately. The lady at the front counter was very polite and helped us out with all the payments. We were told to return in a couple of hours to receive our pet and that if any other procedure was taken in our absence; we’d be called. Upon our second arrival, we waited for about an hour and a half without being helped; meanwhile every other client who had arrived after us had been helped and left. There was a different woman at the counter who had the worst attitude ever and told us that somehow we owed another $400 for exams and medications we did not approve of; they never called us to let us know what was going on. After going back and forth with the doctor for roughly another thirty minutes, I explained to the woman at the front desk that to me it was unfair not to honor the agreement previously discussed and that it is in no way our responsibility to pay for tests that we didnt approve of. The vet kept changing the story; saying my dog was well and then all of a sudden he was in tragic condition. The woman at the front desk kept treating me in the ugliest manner and knowing my dog was in horrible condition they refused to prescribe us medication. Ive been to other animal hospitals and anyone with decency would know that it was their responsibility to let us know what was going on, they should take the blame, and should have still helped us take care of our dog. Along with this, we found out recently from another vet that the labs they did werent needed for our case and were done simply for money. This place is a total scam and if you truly care about your animal, dont be fooled.

*BEWARE* *MONEY HUNGRY* I was referred here as a cheap alternative due to my primary vet not being available. Though they had a friendly office environment, when I was able to go back and actually have the examination done, the doctor was pushing out possible reasons as to why my cat could be sick. Due to the cat being the family cat, I wasnt fully aware of the cats age at the time. I was under the assumption the age was 10. After trying to be told to get the X-ray ($150) over the blood test ($186) because "if we cant find anything on the x-ray, we wont have to do blood" (Why on Earth would I choose the X-ray first ,which is $150 itself, instead of going straight to the blood???) I chose to to only get the blood test done. I called a family member to update them on the story. I was corrected and told the age of the cat was 17 and I informed the staff, after already choosing the $186 blood test. They came back in a few minutes later and I was told, "The other doctor overrode the doctor you were seeing and said due to her age, we have to do ALL tests" which is $533 dollars. Which is absolutely batshit crazy. I informed them after being there for two and half hours that we were going to pass and they tried to give us the paper with the amounts THREE times before I had to be sassy with them. There is no way in Hell. I was able to get into our primary (The Animal Coalition of Tampa) due to a cancellation the next day and walked out of there with only spending $188 ($188 Included: blood test, exam, urinalysis, injection, special diet food, antibiotics) ** (OUR CAT ONLY ENDED HAVING A DAMN UTI)

Our experience with Dr Jim and staff has been more than positive. The entire staff is always very friendly and on task. Our dog broke his leg which required 3 surgeries all together. We took our Gizmo to a couple of places before landing with Dr. Jim through a referral from a friend. We received a quote from the start which was very fair. The quote we received included future surgeries and follow up visits with the exception of xrays, sedation medication, and meds. We were told in advance the estimated total cost from beginning to end. The cost for xrays and meds was very affordable and fairly priced. They have followed through on everything they promised. There have been a couple of occasions where Dr. Jim kept Gizmo longer than expected to ensure he was fine and keep a close watch on him. He never charged us for the extended stay. His only concern was to make sure our dog was ok. He has also been very thorough and personally discussed the situation with us during Gizmos critical moments. The staff is also great with Gizmo. Gizmo never shows apprehension walking into the office as he has with other vets in the past. He loves everyone there and they treated him with alot of love. Dr Jim and Staff-Thank you for taking care of our Gizmo !!

As new in Tampa my wife was taken time in finding a Vet office for our pair of Chihuahuas when we found Armenia Animal Hospital. We didnt know that a year later we were going to experience the death of our beloved BORI in the clinic. He was found with severe heart failure in a 3 lbs dog that never showed any symptoms of disease ones that will not go unnoticed in a house where medicine is the norm. My wife was asking Bori not to die in her hands at home and the exact day of his appointment he just felt on Dr. Jim hands and despite almost three hours of resuscitation measures we lost our beloved dog. The support and empathy toward our lost from the Dr. and staff is one to keep in our hearts forever. We are really thankful for their expertise, knowledge and the extra care when its most needed. May God Bless the facility and the entire crew so they can continue their excellent job.

Although the building is under repair the staff and Dr. Jim are so helpful and friendly you do not notice. Dr. Jim has years of experience and a very kind heart. The staff welcomes you and makes you feel your pet is truly a part of their family. Recently my 13 year old cat, Monkey, was in renal failure and I rushed her in on a Saturday morning. The doctor and staff went right to work on her and now 1 month later she has gained all her weight back and all her liver values are normal. Everyone was so supportive of me and the terrifying time I had nursing her back to health. And, they still call to check on her! Plus, they did some much for such an affordable rate, everyone else would have bankrupted me. Even they flea medication is cheaper than online. I highly recommend dr. Jim and his staff at Armenia Animal Hospital.

I have taken my dogs to Dr. Jim for 30 years or more and he has always taken excellent care of them. He takes care of all my rescues, most recently putting a dogs hip back together so he could walk properly, the charge was more than fair, and he can now run and play like nothing had ever been wrong! When I have lost one of my dogs the entire staff and especially Dr. Jim, have been kind, caring, and rather than do a procedure that might have been costly, took X-Rays to find the cause of my dogs unexpected death instead. Tampa is lucky to have a fine, knowledgeable Vet like Dr. Jim, and I am lucky to call him my Vet and my friend! Penny Midulla
