I went to Centegra Immediate Care Clinic where Id been once before. This time I got Dr Li. Before seeing Dr Li, the nurse took my vitals and noted my complaint of a crackling noise in my left ear which came about after aggressively blowing my nose a few days prior. Additonally I had periods of stabbing pain above my right eye. Just before entering the room, I heard the nurse tell Dr Li I had an earache in my left ear. Dr Li enters the room, glances briefly in my RIGHT ear, and says I need to use prescription eardrops in my right ear three times a day for a week. I said my complaint was about my LEFT ear. She asked if I use Q tips? At least three more times during the appointment she told me how bad Qtips are. I finally interrupted her and asked her to look in my LEFT ear. I mentioned the crackling noise started three days ago after blowing my nose hard. After a quick look she said the ear drops will be good for the left ear too. When I questioned my needing ear drops she said I may need to see an ENT (Ear/Nose/&Throat doctor) Realizing Id lost that battle, I asked about the pain above my right eye. She flashed the light in it and stated that it didnt look swollen. My response was I knew it wasnt swollen, the pain was above and behind the eye. She said I may need to see an Opthomologist. At this point I said I was willing to try eardrops but didnt think that was the solution. In seeming to placate me she then added an antibiotic prescription. Up and out the door she went, leaving me ticked off. When she returned to the room with the two prescriptions, Id had enough time to gather my thoughts and I said the following- "This is the worst consult Ive ever had." She started to blame it on her computer, she couldnt get it booted up. I pointed out it had nothing to do with her computer, it had to do with her doing a bad job. I then described in detail the whole appointment, including her repeated Qtip bashing and that I might need to see two specialists. The third time she interrupted me, I said "This is the problem- You Dont Listen. Youre so busy trying to think up an excuse that you dont hear. YOU NEED TO BE QUIET AND LISTEN!" its at this point I thought I saw the first glimmer of connecting. At this point she apologized and said she was truly "taking it in", even emphasized "taking it in" by placing her hand over her heart. Yea, right. I left the room and went straight to the front desk, repeating the whole story to who I think was the head of the department. I was asked if I wanted to see my regular doctor whose office was upstairs. "YES!" I was then ushered upstairs and saw my doctor within a 1/2 hour. I should explain that I really like my doctor. Shes very good and usually busy. I didnt think my complaint was serious enough to make an appointment which is why I stopped at the clinic. After examining my ear, my doctor concluded that the ear looked fine. She thought eustachian tube became partially blocked from the nose blowing and should clear up in a week or so. She thought my eye area was probably a nerve that was unsettled thus occasionally firing and causing the pain. I did not need prescription ear drops and definitely not antibiotics. I did not need to see an ENT or Opthomologist. Her recommendation- try Allegra D for the nasal congestion (remember thats how I said it all started). For the eye pain, try an anti inflammatory like Aleve for 3 days. If I wasnt better after a week to call her office. Update, both recommendations worked in 2 days. End of my review. I wanted to share my story because I believe its up to each of us to help improve the healthcare system. It can be as simple as taking the time to write reviews on the medical professionals we encounter, both good and bad. I want this facility to be good. A friend who is a veterinarian said her experience at this facility was worse than mine. Hard to imagine.

I went to Immediate Care last Saturday for a severe allergic reaction to I dont know what. My face was visibly swollen. My glands were swollen. I sounded like a chain smoker, which I am not. The receptionist was concerned enough to check with a nurse right away. They both agreed that I should be assessed right away. The nurse said she would pass along the info to the dr and someone would be in shortly. In the meantime, they asked which pharmacy I would use. Walmart I said. An hour and a half later, I went to the nurses station to request water because my swelling was beginning to worsen. I asked how much longer. They were surprised....that I was still there? It seems I was forgotten. An FNP came in with a PA and they immediately gave me Benadryl and Prednisone. I asked if this was going to work since I had already taken Benadryl that morning and my symptoms were getting worse. My lung capacity was diminished at this point, too. So they added Pepcid. After about an hour, the swelling started to go down ever so slightly. I was sent on my way with orders to continue on the trio of meds for the next 5 days. I went home and sent my husband back out to pick up the meds. No meds. I called the after hours service and the rudest woman there told me that my issue of not having access to the prescribed meds was too bad and that I would have to wait until Monday when they were back in the office. "Arent they open tomorrow? (Sunday)" no! She said if it was a medical emergency, she would page a dr. I said it could be if I had to wait until Monday. She was not at all helpful. I decided to check WalGREENS. Yup. They had 2 meds they could fill for me. Which 2? Benadryl and Pepcid. Both OTC strengths. No prednisone. Immediate care did have hours that next day, so I went back and asked for my prescriptions. The dr never sent the prednisone to the pharmacy! Here it is Friday night and I am continuing to swell. I will go somewhere tomorrow if things are as bad as they were last week (made a follow up appt but couldnt get one until this upcoming Tuesday) I will absolutely NOT be going back to the Immediate Care in Huntley. Incompetent. And the after hours staff? Despicable!

Updated on 6/28/16 from comment below: I was finally able to get a call from the Medical Director here. I explained my concerns and was going to specifically follow-up with those doctors and listened to my customer service related issues. So Ill upgrade my rating to a 2-star for now and Ill see if there is follow through. I came to write a review, and was not shocked to see the other responses. We too have consistently (at least 4 times this calendar year so far) gone to the Immediate Care, been told basically to "suck it up" and given no meds only a day or two later to be diagnosed with Ear infections, bronchitis x 2, and a sinus infection. The pediatrician told me children dont truly get sinus infections because children dont have sinus cavities. I made the doctor repeat it because that didnt seem right to me. A few days later (when we went to our pediatrician to actually get healthy) it was made clear that children do in fact have sinus cavities... from birth! Unless you have something that is SO obvious (that can be confirmed by a test - like strep throat) you may want to consider your options. I will be pursuing other ways to report this. It is shocking! My wife left a message for the person who was supposedly in charge of the doctors here and never received a call back. With a new hospital coming in I fear my community of Huntley is in for a very disappointing experience. They seem more concerned about NOT giving antibiotics (as evidenced by their "Care" and the signs posted in every room). BTW - the one star is for the nurses and receptionists, they are great. I left ANOTHER message, not with the person in charge because his phone doesnt take voice messages, but someone else. Well see what happens this time. In the meantime, were going to Mercy! Thanks for making my life inconvenient!
