I worked at St Anthonys as a registered nurse for over 6 years. I asked monthly in our unite meetings, for the proper equipment needed to assist employees with Patient Safety. Their Nurse to Patient Racio is To say the Least, DANGEROUS! The night I was Injured and they DESTROYED my Carreer, I had 13 patients to care for and given the help of 1 nurses aid. I had a new Stroke patient, 62"- 300 pounds, I called the nursing supervisor for help in transferring this patient from the wheel chair to the bed, and he refused to help us or send us anyone that would assist with the transfer. After calling all the floors asking for help and them telling me they had no one to send me, I choose to transferred the patient. I told the patient we were going to stand him up, turn and sit him on the bed, if he felt his strong leg was going to give out, let us know we would set him back down in his chair. Without warning, his leg gave out and I didnt want him to fall.. Turned, bent and twisted, I Pulled him up with all my strength, and got him onto the bed.. I couldnt straighten up. I injured my back beyond repair. I was sent to the employee health Doctor at the wellness clinic, she insisted I pulled muscles. I begged her to do an MRI, and send me to Doctor Burns. That was in August, 2009. Finally in October I was ordered an MRI, but when the results came back, According to the Physician that "reads" ALL PATIENT Xrays, CT scans & MRIs, According to him, my MRI was " NORMAL" I continued to have THE WORST Pain Ive ever had in my life, and they Forced me back to work under " light" duty. My nurse manager told Dr Burns about what had happened , and he looked at my MRI, and his Exact words.. "Your Back is Trashed" 7 herniated discs, my Left Sciatic Nerve was Impinged in at least 5 places. The Only thing that would help me was back surgery.. That Hospital, left me in that pain and situation for almost 1 year. They Caused More extensive irreversible, permanent Damage to my left Sciatic Nerve. Thank God for the One Good doctor that facility has, Doctor Burns, saved my life, with his documentation that I needed surgery, that hospital Finally allowed me to get a consultation with Dr Nanovitch, ( SECOND TO NONE SPINAL SURGEON, NOT AFFILIATED WITH THIS FACILITY!) anyway, he viewed that SAME FIRST MRI of my back and his conclusion was the same as Dr Burns.. Except that if they would have gotten me into the spinal surgeon sooner, I wouldnt have had the EXTENSIVE, PERMANENT damage. Leaving me in that situation, caused Permenate NERVE DAMAGE! I would never be able to work as a nurse again. After I had the surgery, and My activity, was Limited, that "Christian Hospital" said, that they were sorry, but part of their Nursing criteria was that you had to be able to lift 50 Pounds, and because I could only lift 10 pounds, they were sorry, but I no Longer Had a Job as A Nurse at St Anthonys Hospital. So, my point... DONT TRUST THEM FOR ANYTHING!! DONT TRUST THE Readings of YOUR Xrays, CT scans, MRIs... Or theyll take your life from you, as they did from me.. WITHOUT MY PERMISSION... PLEASE, Be warned.. They Misdiagnoise ALWAYS!!! THEIR TRACK RECORD IS HORRIABLE! THEY "settle" lawsuits out of court, so, you wont see those results, because they paid them off before Court, so those arent made public... For Your Own Health & Welbeing, Dont go there or send those you love for treatment here.. Just Saying...

They need a more competent staff. Every time Ive ever had to call to check up on my mom during or after a procedure, they claim they cant find a patient with her name, or I get forwarded from one person to the next that never knows whats going on. Do you understand how stressful that is, hearing that a hospital that is taking care of your mother while she undergoes a procedure for her heart has no idea who or where she is? One time I called and I was told I needed a passcode to even talk to a nurse to have them confirm that the procedure went well. HOW AM I TO KNOW ABOUT A PASSCODE IF NO ONE INFORMS ANYONE ABOUT IT? I just got off the phone with a woman who could barely understand what I was saying to begin with, and claims the hospital has no patient there undergoing a surgery. Pretty sure you are mistaken so now I have to sit here with my anxiety level through the roof and wait a few more hours before someone decides its an okay time to call me. She has been at the hospital since 8am, and it is now almost 2.

Worst experience except nurse LeAnn she worked all by herself and after being given false information by ems.. ie I fell and hit head but Im wheelchair bound. As soon as nurse heard me say that symptoms started 2 hours prior to arrival she called a code stroke. I was admitted and I told my nurse I was having an allergic reaction to adhesive and needed benadryl and she called the Dr and got the order and gave it and a steroid after I asked leann to ask dr and she just took me up like oh well just allergic reaction. Then the next things I remember is coming in and out and them saying when emergency room doctor came in and said she has been asking to be intubated since she came in er. I dont believe saying Im tiring out and asking to be intubated r 2 different statements. But she said oh well lets just intubated and just bad emergency room doctor came. Nurses called because I was not adepauently breathing.

Hospital should be ashamed banning people calling people drug seeker when having ooen wounds all over there body ur cathlic hospital yet ur er treats people poorly how would u feel if u had a bunch of wounds an cant do any thing i hope one day u clean up an do whats right cause its wrong Terrible the er you know they think ever one drug seeker i have a disease an i have a doctor yes im in pain doesnt mean im a druggie u know maybe if u lived a day my shoes an care for people an im not the only one thst feels this way this hospital is know for neglecting people if i had lawyer i sue an i know many others that would to now im not saying every one is bad in there but the er need to treat people better.

The staff is rude and dont seem to care about anything but money. Just an er visit anlone takes over 5 hours and that waiting time. Thats not including the amount of time uve gotta wait for test results and urine results. They act like they r better then everybody there. The obgyns r rediculous, i was pretty much forced into a csection bc the dr i had didnt wanna be there.he told my husband the reason y i had to have it was bc the pain medication in my iv stopped my labor. But the real reason is still unknown. Over all experience is and has always been a waste of time. I can go in there with ur arm almost completely cut off and they wouldnt do anthing about it.
