Everyone seemed nice. Had a little sticker shock with what I believe ended up being a 20 minute appointment. 150 seems a bit high. If thats the average cost, then the office could reasonably be grossing nearly 900,000 per year, which after the staff and the malpractice and rental could net the doctor somewhere in the neighborhood of 300k-400k a year. Probably they arent making that, but I think Im still being charged as if they are since the location probably isnt constantly busy. (Opportunity cost) "The median annual wage for optometrists was $103,900 in May 2015. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $51,780, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $187,200." "Alternatively, see what Ophthalmologists earn in other states. An ophthalmologist salary, according to Medscape, can range from $98,000 to $700,000/yr. A median expected salary for an average ophthalmologist is as high as $254,000/yr while an annual salary for a self-employed ophthalmologist is about $300,000." I suppose given the specialization, the rate is probably average, if you needed the additional specialization.

At the age of 45, Im lucky to say that Ive never had any serious eye problems. In fact, I laughed when my primary care doctor advised me to have an eye exam. With perfect vision I didnt see the point. It wasnt until the last few months that my eyes started bothering me...so I decided it was time to see the eye doctor. I am so glad I chose Dr. Waeltermann. From the moment I walked in the office until I left, I was treated with nothing but kindness, genuine concern, and professionalism from the doctor and staff. I really appreciated how personally engaged everyone was. I dont often write reviews but when people go above and beyond, I think that should be recognized. Thanks so much to Dr. Waeltermann and her team for taking such good care of me today.

I brought my daughter to Dr. Waeltermann for her first Ophthalmologist visit and I must say that she was very professional and knowledgeable!. We were referred by my daughters pediatrician. I was happy to see that she was nothing like the bad reviews- total opposite! She was thorough and kind, bedside manner was just fine. The staff was very nice and kind as well! Will be taking my 4 year old back!

24 years ago this Dr. saved my daughters sight. When she goes to the optometrist they all ask who did her surgery. They are all so amazed. I am so thrilled to let them know it was Dr. Waelterman. Who operates on a child at 9 months and 18 months with results that still continue to amaze? She does.

The worse doctor EVER very rude...i show up for my appt n she tells me to sit out in the car with my 6 mnth old n 2 yr old to fill out paperwork...do not go to her. She is a horrible doctor

Had to take my daughter who is only 20m,everyone in the office is very nice including the Dr herself. However her bedside manner was A LITTLE grumpy at one point, she turned out to be ok.

My daughter has been coming here for almost 2 years. After several visits with her pediatrician and still not knowing what was wrong with her eye, the dr here knew right away.
