Where do I begin?! From the front desk employees and their million dollar smiles & complexion, to the cheerful M.A.s. The staff is genuinely friendly & outgoing in making you feel welcome. The office is state of the art from the interior design, furniture & the exam rooms, yes, how does an exam room make one feel at home? Its like a mini open space with a bright window, very sterile (positive noun I hope) & clean ambience. Theyre IT savvy with their iPads & computers too boot. I almost fell asleep on the exam chair during my short wait. The M.A. came in with a nice flow & not the usual "lets the do the entire medical Q&A in 60 seconds & exit stage left" demeanor. There was a pleasant exchange for a few minutes & she was very skilled in prepping me before seeing the Doctor. & in comes Doctor Sherry Maragh. On hard copy she is the highly & vastly accredited Derma Physician/Surgeon in the DMV...to say the least. The flip side & in person she looks like a run way model...yes with flawless skin, you think? She had a very humble & witty demeanor & exuded a genuine Doctor to Patient rapport. This was by far a very casual, educating & enlightening medical visit. I didnt need the Stedmans Medical Dictionary to gage in conversation with Dr. Maragh & she was more than happy to answer the questions I had for her. I really walked away feeling better & confident in her treatment plan for me. She bestowed many freebies & coupons on me and carries a very selective line of retail products...of course I partook :-) Not only am I looking forward to the outcome of my specially designed facial regime, Im also excited for the facial treatments & other specialty services Dr. Maragh & Company had to offer. Ive already booked my follow up appointments for the rest of the year!

My first office visit with Dr. Hensley at Shady Grove Dermatology, Laser and Vein Institute was OK. I say OK because Dr. Hensleys bedside manner was professional and thorough; however, I was surprised that I had to make a second, separate appointment for my annual skin screening. With my last dermatologist, before moving to the Gaithersburg area, I was able to complete a medication refill and skin screen in the same appointment (and, therefore, didnot have to pay two copays). I needed to have repeat lab work completed prior to a medication refill. it took SIX phone calls to the office to finally receive a lab order. It was back and forth with multiple office employees, and they did not understand that I was required to go to an outside lab so that my insurance would cover 100% of the required labwork. 24 hours after the labwork was drawn, I was notified by Shady Grove Dermatology, Laser, and Vein Institute that I needed to call them back for lab results. Again, it took FOUR phone calls until I was finally given my lab values and further instructions on my medications. I am a healthcare practitioner myself and it is bad patient care to expect your patients to make TEN phone calls for one lab order and lab results. I found the office staff (excluding Dr. Hensley) to be disorganized and not patient focused. As a result, I will be transferring my dermatology needs to another office and will not be recommending this office to friends in the Gaithersburg area.

The experience at this location with staff has been great. They are nice and not much wait time. The reason for 2 stars are: 1. Lack of follow uo with patients. Had procesure done and there was no follow up call to check on patient nor just concern to make sure its all good. 2. The employees that are assisting main dr seems not to have much of experience or just hired to learn sinve being in college. As a patient you want to feel you are in good hands and this practice doea not convey that message. They seems to guess and not confident. 3. They dont have a sense of urgency to the patient. I called in to follow up on my prescription so I called cvs and came to found out that they never send it. So i called them at 8a and after 3 hours still dont have an answer. What if urgent condition that medicine is needed. They just dont care. I would not recommend this place based on my experience

Beautiful office, very nice receptionist and Dr. Maragh was exceptional. She was very friendly and easy to talk with at all times. I went with my teenage daughter to discuss acne solutions and she asked questions and was very nice. My daughter and I loved her personality and we definitely felt like she took her time and really explained everything to us in a down to earth way. I would highly recommend her!
