It’s a different place from the bad reviews A Cat Practice received on Google 5-6 years ago. The facility is not a super fancy or modern, but its clean and well kept. Also, it has plenty of parking out front, and they have a side entrance for those who cant/dont want to use the front doors steps. - Their front office staff and vet techs are great, super friendly and professional. They also handle you calling them for advice all the time very well, and theyre good at getting the docs advice when needed; which saves you needless trips to vet, for minor cat health issues. The 2 veterinarians at A Cat Practice are both very professional, discuss treatment options/costs with you up front, and love cats, it shows! Ive never been to Sliver Springs Hospital, but I can tell you A Cat Practice is more affordable than Friendship Hospital. The main reason I keep coming back to A Cat Practice is because they only do cats. So, without all of the dogs, A Cat Practice is not hostile waiting room environment for cats, like Friendship Hospitals facility. For emergencies, esp. for 24 hr services, I do recommend Friendship Hospital, but for your everyday vet, A Cat Practice is a must go to for any cat lover.

I was very disappointed with my experience at this vet practice. First of all when I went to make an appt. the receptionist said she would call me back in a few minutes. I waited 2 hours and never received a call back and when I called them again an answering machine came on saying they were closed for the day. They still didnt call me the next day even thought I left a message on their machine in which they told me they were too busy with appts to check. They also informed me that while one of my cats was coming in for his physical they could also do his rabbies vaccine while he was there, as he was due. I got home and reviewed my receipt to find out that they forgot to give him his shot!! I also called in advance to ensure that they were ready to perform a specific procedure needed for my cat ahead of time for his visit and they stated they would be ready, and make a long story short I get there and it was not prepared and the vet knew nothing about it. They ended up only being able to complete a portion of the visit. Lots of incompetence at this practice. Not sure if Im going to return. All those issues in 2 visits and expensive too!

After reading the other reviews I am surprised because my experiences have only been positive. I have a high maintenance, not so nice cat who has been through several vets (asked nicely to not come back by one, and made a vet tech cry at another) and the staff at A Cat Practice have not only been able to handle her, but have helped me to manage her behavior issues throughout the past year and a half. They have been open and honest about pricing, never over-charging me and offering me affordable options (suggesting the cheapests meds, suggesting one ex ray instead of two to help lower costs). Dr. Reidy is kind and knowledgable, and when I had questions about my cats chronic UTIs referenced recent professional talks she has been to about managing cats with the issue (I was very impressed). In my experience, the front staff are all very nice as well. Some are less talkative initially, but I do not equate this to be rude. I would recommend A Cat Practice to anyone looking for quality, affordable cat care!

My cat had his teeth cleaned at this practice. They quoted me a price of $190, plus the cost of any extractions. My bill came out to over $800. All the added charges were completely foreseeable--antibiotics, pain-killer (which was unneeded and unused), turns out the extractions were $100/tooth! I felt the practice had misled me. I had to wait several days for the vet to call about my complaints about the bill and then he was very defensive and unwilling to bend at all. Although I have no complaints about their practice of medicine, except perhaps for doing unnecessary stuff, theyre business practice is horrible and my cats will not be going back there.

Feel like I needed to write a review for this place, since I have had three cats get all their needs taken care of at ACP for the past five years. This includes one teeth cleaning. Indeed, the ultimate bill for that cleaning was higher than expected but that was because two teeth needed to be extracted. I dont believe they charged me on a per tooth basis but just a flat fee for both. Im sure it was needed because we had noticed my cat was not eating his normal food and was preferring softer foods. I like ACP, I like that they have tailored their service to the Felines. Im comfortable taking my cats there and feel confident theyre getting great care.

I took my cat there for annual shots. The facility was neat but not spotless. The support staff was less than professional and didnt even greet me with a hello when I walked in. One of them called my cat a meanie - he did hiss once or twice, but wouldnt you? The vet did not discuss the vaccines with me before injecting them, and only AFTER the fact, when I asked, acknowledged that there was a three-year rabies and that next year they could give it to my cat. Also said my cat was potentially hyperthyroid, and theyd need to do a $200 test to find out. Thanks, but no thanks. Ill be headed somewhere else next time.

The vet was rough with my cat and not warm or caring. She really didnt seem to have a way with animals. Strange. Half of the admin staff was cold and rude. Two were very kind and helpful. They were expensive and I found another vet who gave me more treatment options to choose from and seemed far more knowledgeable. Silver Spring Animal Hospital was soooo much better and more affordable too.

We have had a very good experience with A Cat Practice and whomever said that Silver Spring Animal Hospital was more affordable must be living on another planet. Just checked their rates - at SSH its $400 for an exam and shots for two cats - ACP is just over $200 and a much nicer facility. The vets are both good.

Ive been taking my cat here for two years now and have received fantastic service. Everyone is friendly and takes the time to explain things. It is clear that all of the employees love cats and they have always treated my cat with great care.

Best place for cats. I thought it was a huge improvement over The Ambassador Pet Hospital in Silver Spring. I liked it. If you have a cat and are lucky enough to live near here I would definitely use this cat-specialty vet.

A Cat Practice demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and compassion with our two sick kitties. We will be grateful to them every day of our lives.

I find the new staff to be very friendly and caring. The new vet takes her time with the kitties by having 30min appointments.
