I would rate the EMERGENCY PHYSIANS less than a star if possible.. Everytime I have gone to the ER here I have a bad experience all with the physians the center itself is pretty good. In the past I have never been so enraged to write a survey, but last night is the finial straw... First I would like to say I do not have a primary care doctor at this time so getting things done that would be referred to by a pcp is more difficult and I understand this. I called the office of the gyno. I had most recently seen to see if he would refer me to get an ultrasound per my last visit because I felt there could be something wrong. The woman on the phone said I would need my pcp to refer me, and when she found out I did not have one , she ADVISED ME TO GO TO THE ER. So here is where my horrible experiences with these "physians" begins.. I get called in to speak with the physian.. I do not get a room because "there is no space" so you know I get it that happens whatever I will live I did not feel I really needed one.. ( keep in mind I had already taken a pee test and blood test at the gyno 2 weeks prior to this and my ONLY purpose in going to the ER was because I was advised by someone at lowell general customer service center that this is how I would get an ultrasound done without a pcp) the physican Kim comes out basically trying to blow smoke up my a-- (talking to me like I dont know my own body and like I am a 13 year old girl just dealing with her period and hormones for the first time) and finding a way to get me out of there without taking any effort or time to actually listen to what I am saying. So she asks me more about what is going on and mid conversation she rudley sticks her hand up in a "stop talking" manner so she could speak with a nurse which further proves she could give a s--- less about what I was saying she already has her robot answer ready for me. Since I was not just going to go home with a negative pee test for pregnancy she tells me she will take a blood test and if the results come back negative we will talk further. So after a hour and a half of waiting, in a hallway, she sends her nurse out with papers for me to leave.. I look at the nurse and she says, " your ULTRASOUND results are negative no problems".. of course at this point I am pissed because that was my only purpose in coming in so I corrected her that it was a blood test and she said, "oh yeah you were right, sign here and you can go home." So not only was I advised by a moron to go to the ER for an ultrasound I was "taken care of" by a moron physian who had no problem taking my insurance money to get paid, but wanted to do the least amount possible to help. Kim didnt even come back out herself to talk with me further and about getting an ultrasound done. This is my problem with this ER, the physians love to get their portion of your dollar but when you expect your dollars worth you will end up dissapointed. I wouldnt have cared if I had to wait 4 hours for someone to do an ultrasound the fact of the matter is I wanted it done and I am paying to be here to get what I want done so that I feel safe, comfortble, and correctly disagnosed/treated. If you go to Lowell Generals website and find the ER portion part of it says, "...Our Emergency Departments offer convenience, efficiency, and comfort. For optimum care, they include rooms close to the nursing station for monitoring severely ill patients and a separate area of beds for Fast Track patients..." This should be changed to set realistic expectations. The hospital itself does a great job with these three goals, the physians are more than lacking. I have given this place more than 6 different times to change my opinion and each time I go in I feel less satisfied than the last. If I ever find myself serverley hurt and in need the ER immidiately , I will take my chances and drive to a further more reliable facility. P.S If a wave of a hand and a premeditated answer I can find anywhere on the internet is all it takes to be a physian , sign me up.

Unfortunately my 98 year old mother who is normally pretty sharp and aware of her surroundings was brought into Lowell General hospital on March 14th 2014 to be treated for a broken leg caused from a fall. To my knowledge her treatment consisted of an ex-ray to determine the severity of the brake and was put into a boot for her treatment. Without any other testing she was shipped her off to a rehab in Salem, NH the next day. She steadily went down hill to the point of behaving like she had full dementia within the first 12 hours! Luckily the Doctor at the Rehab who looked in on her that day asked us questions and listened to our answers she was concerned that she had a UTI and ordered a urine test. They told us this could be causing the wild and disturbing behavior but would not know for sure until the test came back which never happened! By the next morning March 17th she was shipped back to Lowell General Hospital where she was tested for the UTI and began treatment for a severe UTI with an IV antibiotic for about 36 hours. On March 19th she was showing signs of recovery and the dementia like symptoms were disappearing. The following March 20th she was promptly disconnected from the IV antibiotic discharged again from Lowell General and shipped off to another rehab! They now have her on an oral antibiotic which she cant swallow. She is now depressed and non responsive. In short I think the healthcare towards the elderly is horrendous and lacks any compassion and understanding for the elderly. The poor woman has been has been shuffled around four times in a week and I fear she is giving up. In the short time since I posted this review lest that 60 minutes ago my 98 year old mother is now being discharged from Blair House because she still needs medical attention! Now we are going to Nashoba Valley Medical Center where she will hopefully get the care she needs. We have lost all faith in Lowell General Hospital and hope that something can be done so that other elderly patients dont have to go through what my mother is experiencing! Words cant describe the total lack of care we have experienced!

Wait time is long, Ive experienced 2 aunts go there while pregnant to get checked for over bleeding and one was checked a week before and they said she had an infection but really it was the baby dropping low, but they made them wait hours upon hours and then let them have miscarriages and actual enduced a misscariage for one aunt, they messed up one of my aunts uterus when she had her first child and said she couldnt have another so when she got pregnant she couldnt hold the weight past 5 months, so she had a miscarriage and told her there was nothing they could do because the lungs werent developed enough and let the baby love for an hour and a half on her chest. The other aunt her doctor didnt come even till after she had the miscarriage and bled excessively and only came in to clean her out (placenta) he kept postponing going to check her to check a kid with a fever and someone who had a cold, while the nurse kept going in and out checking on her and did all the work and kept asking the doctor to check her. My aunts are haunted with these loses till today and wont ever recommend this hospital, having a baby and any difficulties go to Boston tufts thats where they saved my aunts previous baby when he was premature. Only reason they went to Lowell general was one because it was closer and for one of my aunts was because it was late at night. Theyre only good if its not a real emergency. If its only something simple like small stitches for your leg, broken arm, or something not life threatening.
