Amazing the different care you get from one Banfield to another. We adopted 4 week old kittens that a mom had abandoned. One got an eye infection and one ended up with a swollen back leg somehow. So we took them to Banfield in Saginaw on Sunday the 8th and they gave the one an antibiotic for his eye and the other they just chalked it up to he must of just twisted it, no sense for x-rays they said hes too young. The worse they said could happen is that when he gets bigger he will walk with a limp. We trusted them... The next morning, the one with a swollen leg was lifeless. Took him to the emergency vet at 4 am, 3.5 hours and $880 later, they were unable to save him. He died from an infection, and infection that could have been treated if caught. That very same day his brother woke up with a swollen leg, so he was taken Banfield in Utica since it is closer to home, and they said an x-ray should be done, not because they think its broke, but because if its not broke then it would be swollen from and infection and if not treated it will go into his heart and then there will be nothing that we can do. Hmmmm, sound familiar!!! So if Banfield in Saginaw would have done an x-ray and seen that it wasnt broke, we could have shocked his system with a strong antibiotic and he would still be alive. So now our family is heart broken, and his brother is alone. They could never apologize enough to repair the damage that they did. Heartbroken :(

I am typically a big fan of Banfield and the services that are offered, but the staff at this location has been consistently disappointing in communicating on care provision for my animals. They took it upon themselves to administer vaccines to my dog that he was not due for (they were a full 3 months early) and that I was not informed of prior to them giving him the shots. There was no consideration of my dogs condition when administered as he was brought in initially for pain and they chose (which would have been against my wishes if they had asked) to put him in more pain by giving him vaccines that are tough on his system and cause soreness and lethargy. There are enough other vets out there who exhibit appropriate care and consideration for the animals that they treat that I will not be wasting my time with a vet who thoughtlessly makes massive unnecessary assumptions.

Well called made appt asked how much puppies first set of shots cost. Was told $66 with visit. Well got to appointment and they took dog in back then proceeded the hard sell on there monthly plan for $60 a month. Once I told them we did not want to do the monthly program priced changed for visit. Left there with $96 bill for well visit and fist round of vaccinations. Never will go back big corporate vet business should have been the first warning.

They did a number of minor tests to help determine what was wrong with our cat. They were very informative as to what they believed to be the issue and how to go about helping our pet. Very kind and courteous. They also called to check up on us afterward, even though it was not expected.
