Great clinic! My boxer dog had three very small masses that needed to be removed and the costs quoted by other clinics were ranging from $600-$1000. I called South Shore at the recommendation of a friend and they quoted $300. The surgery went well all three masses were removed with large margins as they treated them as if they were cancer. I recieved instructions for care and medicine for Tyson and my total bill was actually under what they quoted because it was not as difficult as they had origionally thought! After bringing my dog home a recieved a phone call from the clinic ensuring that Tyson was recovering well. A few weeks later we had the stitches removed for FREE! No charge for a clinic visit, just removed the stitches and checked to see that it was healing right and sent us on our way. Their prices for vaccines are the cheapest I can find. This clinic is owned by a vet and is run in such a professional manner. Ive never been happier and drive from Coon Rapids to have my dog vetted here. Helpful staff that is 100% happy to answer any questions you have. I have recommended several people to this clinic and all of them are very happy with the cost and professionalism offered at South Shore.

If there was an award for the worst customer service in the Twin Cities, this place would take it! The receptionists are rude, forgetful and even after your pet has been going there for 7 years, they dont have a clue who you are! They lose your pets file, make you wait when you are on time for appointments, have absolutely no phone skills, and are very disorganized every single time we have gone there for services! Today was the last straw! We were on time for our appointment as usual and the receptionist behind the desk had already put away our file and then had the nerve to say,"We didnt think you were coming!". After an inexcusable wait in the waiting room, two vet techs came out and gave my dog her shot in the waiting room. The dog wasnt weighed nor were we given any of the other services we received in the past. Customer service is very important part of your business South Shore. I suggest taking the hard earned money we have paid you all these years and invest in some classes. After this, I will be looking for a new vet.

This vet is great after dealing with Banfield for almost a year. Banfield wanted to charge almost $800 for a preventative gastropexy, after my "pet plan" 20% discount... and the vet told me he had never done one before! South Shore had a doctor that had a lot of experience with the procedure, and it only cost around $300 after all the meds. Plus I asked for an ear swab since he was there anyways and had an infection in the past, which was only $12 (Banfield is $70). The results came back negative... so they didnt even charge me for it. It sounds like they dont put up with crabby or rude customers, based on the negative reviews Ive seen on here... I kind of like that about them too! Opens up that schedule for my pup :) They are cheap, knowledgeable, and open late a few days a week, which is nice since I live in Minneapolis and getting up there after work can be a pain. I will gladly continue to make the drive though, even though Banfield and a handful of other vets are within minutes of my house!

Ive been going to South Shore for all my three of my dogs needs for almost 15 years now. Checkups, G.I surgery, brain tumors, accidents, stitches, porcupine attacks, vaccines.. the list goes on and on. Sometimes it seems like my dogs have done it all. Through all the adventures, Dr. Dave and the staff of South Shore have been kind, caring, knowledgeable, helpful, supportive, and excellent at every opportunity. Needless to say, I trust them for the big and the little things. With the passing of my two older dogs, they were the compassionate staff that I needed to comfort my dogs and I through the process. They are more than I could hope to ask for as a vet hospital. Thanks for the extra years of fun and joy I got to spend with my elder pups, and for taking such good care of them over the years. Looking forward to all my pups healthy years under South Shores loving care.

South Shore Vet Clinic has been the best clinic I have ever been to. I have recently moved out to Colorado and have seriously considered bringing my dogs home just so I can take them to Dr. Dave. They are also the MOST reasonably priced vet out there. Trust me, I am on my second vet in Colorado and they are absolute outrageous in comparison to South Shore. My dogs love Dr. Dave and he is extremely knowledgeable. However if he doesnt know the answer he will either find it out, or suggest a specialist. My one dog has a epilepsy and he was absolutely amazing though the whole thing, and when we came to a point in time where he didnt have anymore answers he suggested an amazing neurologist. I am so sad to not be able to take my dogs there anymore. I wish he would open an office in Colorado.

Honest people. The vets are very nice and willing to talk not feeling rushed. I came home from Korea in 1994 for leave and on the day I got home had to put down my Golden Retriever. Just put down my German Shepherd today and it was a nice quick peaceful passing for her. My German Shepherd had anal Fistula and a low thyroid. She fought it for two years. I was concerned with the pain she was having. The veterinarians helped her she get better and then Anal Fistula got worse again. Its incurable and am happy I got a few more years with Sandy my German Shepherd. I still have my Black Labrador and my girls cat going here. A compassionate clinic.

Very forgetful! Took my kitten in for a dewormer medication and came home with no information. She threw it up and they called a few days later to inform me they gave the wrong dosage and I was to come back in for a new one. They charged me for a new one and then explained that they were unsure why I was there because I was given the right dose. They send me a letter to come in for vaccinations and I make the appointment, get there and they tell me that no vaccinations can be given that time because of her age. I was sent home feeling stupid and fooled again! WILL NOT GO BACK.

Weve been taking our dogs here for about 12 years and are very pleased with their care of animals, communication and entire operation. Weve appreciated that they help us make informed decisions about our pets care without pressuring us to do tests that may not be necessary. Theyve surprised us with follow-up calls to see how the dogs are doing if theyve been seen for illness (my own doc doesnt follow-up with me on my health after appts.!) They were especially compassionate and helpful during one of our dogs last days when difficult decisions needed to be made. Heidi J.

I will not return. I had gone in because my dog had an ear infection, but I still had a little medicine left from last time. The vet said no problem, use it up and see if it is gone from that amount. If not, she would write me another prescription. I called today, and the one older receptionist who is always kind of mean, said she would see if the doctor would do that, and call me back. She never got back to me. I guess I will go to another vet from now on. The vets seems to always contradict each other too. I dislike that a lot.
