I am extremely grateful for the home euthanasia services provided by MN Pets. I cannot recommend them highly enough. My first contact was with Jessica at MN Pets, to schedule the appointment. She was exceedingly kind and understanding and helped me with my struggle of indecision about when to schedule euthanasia for my 14-year-old cat, Lynx, when he suddenly stopped responding to treatment halfway through his 25-week chemotherapy protocol for stomach cancer. My next contact was with Dr. Melinda Crowe, when she came to the house for the euthanasia. Her compassion and professionalism surpassed all my expectations. She clearly explained everything that would or could happen during the euthanasia process. We never felt pressured or hurried; she let us take our time saying our goodbyes, and I was allowed to hold Lynx in my arms for both the sedation and then the injection of the euthanasia solution. Lynx died peacefully in my arms, knowing he was surrounded by love. I have rescued many, many animals over the years and thus have experienced many, many deaths. Lynxs death was one of the most peaceful and easy deaths I have ever witnessed. My third contact with MN Pets was via e-mail when they offered follow-up grief support through a series of e-mails for 30 days. I did sign up for this free service and am finding it very helpful and comforting. The blog on their website is also very helpful and extremely well written. Finally, my fourth contact was again with Dr. Crowe who sent me a deeply moving and loving sympathy card and letter. It was very personal, and I wept when I read it. I stood there literally with my mouth open in disbelief that someone who had known Lynx (and me) for such a short time could write so poignantly about my relationship with him. If I could I would give MN Pets a 10 star rating. If at all possible, at-home euthanasia is the way to go, and I thank my lucky stars that MN Pets exists.

I cant say enough good things about MN Pets. Its never easy having to say goodbye to one of our furry companions let alone making that dreaded decision. I woke up on Mothers Day 2013 to my German Shepard not being able to stand and in obvious distress. He had been declining for a while but took a sudden turn for the worse in one night. I knew it was time to say goodbye and let him go in peace. My sister came over and made the call to MN Pets since I was too distraught at the time to talk. It was mothers day so we werent sure if they would have anyone available. They did. A couple hours later and one of the vets arrived. I honestly dont remember her name but she was the sweetest person. I had my mom, sister and a dear friend with me for support. The vet took the time to explain everything to me and my family/friend. I never felt rushed during the whole appointment. I had more pets at home so it was important that everyone had a chance to say goodbye and understand what was happening. Even my cat Lily whos best friend was my German Shepard. Henry passed peacefully and his ashes were returned to me less than a week later in a gorgeous box. The vet also sent me the nicest card about a week or so later. Ive referred so many other of my friends and co-workers to MN Pets because I had such a positive experience even though it was such a great loss to say goodbye to my Henry. They offer the peace and dignity of being able to say goodbye at home on your terms. Which is so important when you have a pet thats stressed out with traveling. They also have a wonderful grief support group and counselor on staff. Paws down MN Pets helped me in more ways than theyll ever know.

My family is so very grateful for the service and support that MN Pets provided us during a very difficult time in our life. Our 13 year old cat, Shayla, was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer in her jaw. We decided against treatment as they were not likely to be successful and would only add to her suffering, but we were at a total loss at the best care for her. After some searches online we found MN Pets. Both Lindsay (via phone) and Dr. Karin (in-house visits) were compassionate, supportive, caring, gentle, respectful, understanding, knowledgeable, and helpful. They gave us the tools and guidance we needed to help ease Shayla’s suffering and to allow her rest from her pain and dignity in her final days. And having the visits in our home helped reduce stress on all of us. I’ve had to say goodbye to other pets before and found going to the vet for the procedure to be cold and clinical. Dr. Karin came to our home and showed such incredible compassion and respect for our pain. She was gentle and respectful with Shayla during the entire visit. The people at MN Pets are amazing and I would highly recommend their services to all pet owners who are facing the difficulty decision of having to say goodbye.

On july 31, 2105 I went to let my two huskys Reina and Tazer out of their kennels. I was horrified when I found our sweet 13-yr-old Tazer had passed away during the night! I researched companies that would come and pick him up and have him cremated. I called MN Pets in Oakdale and was so relieved to hear they could be at our home within an hour - seeing him just laying out in his kennel so still was tormenting my husband and myself! Within 40 minutes a nice young man came to our home and after verifying that Tazer had passed, he gently set him onto a cot and he and my husband carried him to his car. He even did a paw print for us right at our home. I cant say enough good about how caring MN Pets was during this traumatic time and what caring people they are. I was very surprised to see Tazers ashes were in a beautiful wooden box, with Tazers name and date of death on the bottom of the box - all of our other fur babies came back in cardboard boxes. MN Pets even put his box inside a classy gift bag, tissue and all, with Tazers name on it. They seem to really get how devastating this is for us and reacted lovingly. Thank you all for your kindness.

About a year ago, we had to say good-bye to our Beagle, Tippy who we adopted 13 years ago with her sister. My biggest fear was finding her dead after coming home and not being there for her. Reading the article from MN pets really helped us to understand when is the time. She went out on the backyard on a beautiful day and she was ready. She laid there on the grass unconscious. I have called a few times and cancelled once because I just wasnt ready until that afternoon .I called MN Pets. Dr. Rebecca came that afternoon in such a short notice. My kids 8y and 6y that time were there watching the whole process which they chose to.A few tears shed but we celebrated her life with us instead of losing her. About 5 month later, her sister, Star decided to be with Tippy. We called MN Pets and one of their vet came out and help us say good bye to her while she was lying on her favorite bed in our family room. We have adopted 2 more dogs and a cat since then. I wouldnt say bye to my pets any other way.
