Okay, first off, my horrible experience started before we knew much about my true situation. It started when, for quite a few days, I was having severe abdominal pain, bloody diarrhea, and vomiting. I went into the ER, and they gave me a CT Scan. They saw my large intestine was very inflamed, so they recommended a few day hospital stay. They also put me on a couple of drugs to deal with the supposed infection. But I was still in severe pain for those few days and kept getting diarrhea. I thought it was just part of the infection. They thought it was gastritis or gastroenteritis. They released me a few days later, but I still was almost as bad as when I first came in. I could hardly even eat anything and lost about 50 pounds. I could hardly even ride in a car without getting sick. This lasted for a little less than a week before I went to my follow up doctor, who had the nerve to say I was doing good and theyd do a colonoscopy in six weeks because she said "Youre too inflamed for one soon" What? My white count was through the roof, high hemoglobin, and still severe symptoms and I was told I was doing good? So then my mom made an appointment with another doctor she knows in another office. I go in, he takes one at me and my blood work and says "I think I know whats wrong. I have to do a colonoscopy tomorrow." I was stunned. Right away? And the other one wanted to wait six weeks? So I go in, get the colonoscopy, and he sees major inflammation so bad that he couldnt even do a full procedure. What was the problem? I was officially diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and was put on IV steroids to bring the inflammation down and a few other meds for a few days there too. I felt SO much better and was able to eat more things. The vomiting also stopped and the bloody diarrhea decreased. Im doing fairly well now though. Like I said, I didnt know much about these things before Moms doctor explained them. Why Hunterdon didnt even put me on steroids to reduce the inflammation or at least do a scoping test to see what was up "down there" is just inexcusable and shows complete incompetence. So is the Doc I saw there a week later. Youd think theyd know all this stuff! I am NEVER coming here EVER again.

Almost every time I walk into this hospital they are always celebrating the employees! Yesterday was nurses day and as you walked in baskets of wine and etc on a large table and a room of free food for them 3 steps away from the enterance. Couple months ago Emergency room staff was given a buffet of food and we the patients had to wait for them to finish eating the food then another date on another floor staff in another department was given free buffet for lunch. I understand some nurses and doctors and other hospital staff work hard but with out patients they wouldnt have a job! This hospital could give 2 craps about the patients and dont let them fool you with fakeness with quality control and patient advocacy department because they are worthless of getting any help when a patient issue arises. A very fake hospital and into kissing butts and making things look good!!! Zero compassion and appreciation towards the patients! Disgusting hospital! You losers are sheeps in wool clothing and want to make things look good! The states need to come and investigate why situations are run in a poor fashion and brushed under the rug! Mr.Wise CEO needs to be investigated especially when it comes to the disabled they are discriminated! Thank you for responding to my comment but once again you people dont care and not pro active with the patients. You allow abuse to happen and take away cell phones before entering any meetings with the patient so the abuse couldnt be not caught. Mr Wise cant be contacted and has his cronies do his dirty work! Please go enjoy the free buffets that our monies supplies to the employees for our services. With out patients you people wouldnt have a job and check for doing nothing!

EMERGENCIES BEWARE!! I live literally around the corner from this hospital, and have been there more than any person should have to be. The ER is completely hit or miss, I have had times where its fine, and then I have had other experiences like this. Last week, I was in excrutating pain, and was made to wait for 2 hours while others went in first, until I was so sick they had to try twice to even get an IV in. They went to run tests messed up the results because they gave antibiotics before they checkd for infection. I ended up being admitted and kept for 2 days, had several more tests run, and was sent home with NO answers. When I was sent home, I was sent home with a note that said I could go back to work "without restrictions" when they had me on a high dose of heavy narcotics! Try explaining that note to work! They also wrote on my discharge papers "pain level: 7" and "pain acceptable: yes" how is the fact I could barely walk and they sent me HOME taking narcotics acceptable?? They ALSO did not ONCE tell me that the MRI I had done showed any problems on the side I said was hurting. The papers which I took hope said there were 2 problems! One even had a NOTE ON IT asking if the patient was experiencing pain! I am appalled! No one but a couple of the floor nurses actually listened to what I was saying! Next time Ill go elsewhere and pray they do a better job!

I feel compelled to write this review because I see so many reviews in stunning contrast with my excellent experience last night. Without boring you with all the details, I was extremely impressed with my experience. From the receptionist, to taking vitals, to the nurse in the room, to Dr. Christiansen himself- all services rendered were prompt, patient, extremely sympathetic, and on point. Precautionary tests were run, a detailed diagnosis was given, and much needed medication was given on the spot and in a script for later. Billing and paperwork was completely painless and the receptionist sent me into the medical process before making me jump through all the signatures, coming around later to finish it all up. My only other hospital experience is with the very-highly recognized Valley Hospital in northern NJ that I know possesses numerous recognitions including the magnet designation for nursing. I do not know if Hunterdon Medical Center has received similar rewards, but based on my experience last night I believe it should. I could not have realistically asked for more. You never want to need to go to the hospital, but it is comforting to know that this excellent facility is minutes from my home in Lebanon. Thank you Hunterdon!

ER visit with left lower back and left lower flank. Extremely painfull (10/10 pain scale). As soon as I walked in... i was told to see someone. i gave my info the best i can...they rushed me to the bio stat folks who were very quick and sympathaetic to my pain... they rushed me to see the doctor. the first doctor was a PA who asked me more questions...and told me they would be giving me pain med. the first nurse saw me 5 min after and hooked me up with pain meds. the pain med was ok...after 20 min, the pain worsened...after telling them that...5 min later they changed my pain med and gave me a shot...it immediately got better but not enough...i complained again..and this time the ER MD came by and gave uped my dosage to the same pain med...and that worked... not sure what happened there... but at the same time, he ordered a CT scan that showed a kidney stone... so in the end...this place doesnt look too busy which means youll be seen quickly, the staff is really nice and caring...but not sure why the pain meds did not work right away... maybe because of low dosage??? some doctors like to work like that.. they dont want to give alot of pain meds right away...??? so that is why i give this place a 4 and not a 5.
