I recently had hip replacement surgery at Highland Hospital. The staff, especially on the ortho recovery floor was outstanding and the entire process went much more smoothly than I could have anticipated. Every staff member from nurses to techs to PTs (and of course, Dr Drinkwater, the surgeon) handled their jobs professionally and efficiently. When I needed assistance, the response was nearly immediate, which was much different from other hospital experiences I have had. I was home within 24 hours of the surgery and started at home PT the next day. I was able to get back to work in 2 weeks, which was better than I had hoped for. Im very glad I made the decision to get this done and I already have better range of motion with less pain than before the surgery. I was embarrassed in the waiting room as they blatantly ignored my request to call me by my last name then, turn around and mispronounced my name. The nurse was extremely Biuos, stereotypical, and callous as I had my vitals taken by assuming that I smoked crack, cocain, after I told her that I occasionally smoke tobacco products. I will be Contacting a lawyer when Im free for their serious lack of ethics, respect, and profiling me.. I came to be treated for hand injury and allergies, Not profiled, stereotyped, or passively disrespectful.....

My wife Heidi after having a full histerectamy 4 weeks ago came to Highland because she was bleeding alot. They took her right in and got it under control quickly! My wifes RN, on the 5th floor in the East wing, was named Julie and she was an angel according to my wife! If you know or see Julie, give her a huge hug, she deserves it!
