My experience was rough, but probably not as rough as Sadie Maries... I had set a rule that I didnt want husbands, kids, or pets. Nothing I had to feed or clean up after. Sadie Marie took over in July 2003. I tried to give her away, but even though she was the cutest little thing, no one would take me up on it. Capital Area Humane Society would take her, but stated they have so many, they were "putting them to sleep," or basically killing them. As I kept trying to find her a home, she made my home hers, and after seven years, I feel lucky that she lets me stay with her! When I found her outside, she was so small that she could sit on my hand. But, I couldnt get the little kitten to eat or drink anything. I knew that any time that I leave home I pass the Angel Animal Hospital and see the sign of Dr. Candace Fisher. They are less than a mile away, thus I called and made an appointment for the kitten. I thought Dr. Fisher would keep her, and let me off the hook. Dr. Fisher estimated the kittens age of only 6 - 8 weeks, that she should still be with her mother. She told me how and what to feed her, how to care for her, and explained the liter box. What, a liter box? You mean the kitten is going to do that stuff? I brought her back home. Since then, Sadie Marie has gone to Dr. Fisher each year for her shots, and a check up. There were times when Sadie had to go for other reasons, but until this past week nothing seemed to be a crisis. Sadie started refusing to use the liter box. It was very annoying, but I put cleaned up after her, waiting for her to change her attitude. I had a bad habit of letting Sadie Marie outside on the patio, and because I wouldnt do that when she wanted, it was assumed that she was showing an attitude by not using the liter box. On Monday (two days ago), Sadie Marie became very sick, and couldnt make it to the liter box. After about 24-hours she started vomiting. After a couple of hours, I couldnt stand seeing her that sick, and called the Angel Animal Hospital and explained the situation. They had me bring Sadie down within 20-minutes. They checked her out, and gave her injections to calm the stomach down, hoping to stop the vomiting and diarrhea. While giving Sadie the shots, and taking her temperature, it was found that Sadie had the Tapeworm Infection. It was explained what this would have been caused by, and my letting her outside just to the patio had to have been the source. I was near tears that I caused this, and promised Dr. Fisher that I would no longer let Sadie outside. By the time I got Sadie Marie back home, she was much better. She sat next to my chair, wagging her fuzzy tail and watching television. I could tell she was better. The next day I could tell that she was even better by her starting to wash herself. About noon, Dr. Fishers office called to check on Sadie. I was thrilled to tell them that she was much better, and was drinking water, eating the Science Diet, and begging to the cat treats. Back to her "silly self." Dr. Candace Fisher and her staff was responsible for helping my spoiled rotten cat feel better, after I caused her to be ill. I did research on the internet of the tapeworm infection, and learned that it was more than likely what was causing her to not use the lter box. Note: A cat with that problem thinks the liter box is causing the problem, and wont use it. If you want her, I will let you have Sadie Marie (yeah, right), but until that happens, I wont take her any place other than Angel Animal Hospital. Annie Rodgers

To say the least, we are not going back. You couldnt pay us to go back. We didnt have anything too dramatic but were just treated poorly and the communication between staff members was terrible especially with pricing. We just bought a house here and have 7 indoor cats on wellness plans at Banfield (about $300 per month) so we spend a lot on our animals. Well sadly our neighbors have a lot of outdoor/indoor cats that arent spayed and the shape some of the kittens get into is so poor my husband and I just cant look away. Animals control does nothing, etc, etc...We usually take the kittens to Banfield but not having an appointment means you sit there all day something we cant do since we work. So we decided to try out Angel Animal Hospital. I called around 7:40am to let them know I was at work but they could try to reach me if needed and my husband was bringing in the kitten at 8am (when they opened officially). For some reason even though they opened at 8am the doctor wasnt in until 11am. I said okay so they kitten just stays there and waits? The girl said yes and it would just be the $45 exam fee. Never did they mention a hospitalization fee but yet we got charged per hour for 3 hours and they refused to remove that charge. They overloaded a kitten less than 1 pound with injections (partially my husbands fault for agreeing to them) and it had a seizure and died. In the midst of the seizure it bit a technician badly and thus its head had to be sent for rabies testing which the state of Ohio covers (I used to work for the state). The doctor almost tried charging me for the rabies testing but fortunately did not. They still charged me for cremation which was $67 by itself for an animal weighing 1 pound - 25 pounds even though the kitten wasnt even one pound and was sent to rabies testing. I went there to talk about the bill and pick up our carrier and they literally stood by the door as if they wanted me out of there as quickly as possible. They wouldnt even remove $18 off the hospitalization fee. All I wanted was $18 removed off my bill as a compromise for their malpractice and they wouldnt even do that. I also found it rather suspicious they had kittens for adoption (more like for sale) that werent spayed/neutered/etc. So they want to make money off of animals instead of helping them? Prices are way high too by the way.

In looking for a vet closer to our new place in Galloway, we found, what looking to be a great place. Nice web info, picts, location etc. When we walked in, with our little kitten (my 2 little boys in tow) we completely GAGGED at the stench of the place. The whole visit, my boys were begging to get out of there. My nose never got used to it either. It was not clean, let alone, sanitary. The rug they used to place my pet on, had hair all over it from a previous animal. After using it to exam my kitten...they put it right back on the shelf....for the next animal. Not grossed out yet? They said my kitten had fleas...could have been...the only one found was on the kittens eye in the office ( no flea poop). So did it really have fleas or did it come from the matt? The same matt they put back on the shelf to what....to give fleas to the next animal. We were also lied to. When I called about having my kitten fixed I was told that the doctor would do early fixes and the kitten could even stay that day to have it done. NOT TRUE, not even close. While the kitten was 4 months old, the doctor said she would not even consider until 6 months of age (even though I told her we had an unspayed female in the house....which was supposed to fixed before it even came to us...but another lie from someone else). So getting this kitten fixed was needed as he had started to pee around the door where the female was confined....still refused to do it. The doctor didnt even inquire who I spoke to, seeing how upset I was about the wasted visit. Then the added kitten vitamins to our bill without permission...another $14 for a wasted visit. They also misread my records and kept calling for a shot my kitten already had. I will never go back.
