My insurance changed so I could no longer go to the dentist Ive been going to for years. I gave Trailside a try for a cleaning. The office is very nice and modern, however my hygienist (although she was very nice) was terribly awkward (perhaps she just graduated) and very clumsy. She took the x-ray/bitewings of my face 10 times (I guess she couldnt figure out how to position the machine). She also didnt know how to position the chair and I was so uncomfortable and so I finally mentioned it and she still couldnt get it right. She failed to use to the water/suction until the end of the cleaning. I was constantly having to swallow all that yuckiness. She banged my teeth with her instruments constantly... She also did a terrible job of rinsing the polish off - I left feeling like I had sand in my mouth. All this I would have been willing forgive since I figured she was new but the dentist himself was not nice at all. He didnt bother to introduce himself and had no bedside manner at all. He insisted that I need a large number of fillings (and I had been to my previous dentist for xrays just 6 months prior and he didnt see anything). I asked if we could put the supposedly suspicious spots on watch and he just kind of growled something and left the room. I was considering having the most critical of the fillings done out of fear that maybe I do need them. However I asked around and found out from friends that this dentist has a reputation of being rough on your mouth when you have work done. I decided to get a second opinion and go elsewhere!

If youre like me, youve searched high and low for a dentist who is honest, attentive with no surprises in cost. Now at age 51 I think Ive finally found one. Lori, who runs...well everything, knows more about each and every insurance policy. Other than my own, Ive listened to conversations with others about theirs and the differences in each. Loves her job! Tiffany was my fist medical experience before meeting Dr. Balsly. Took such care and concern with my comfort and very informative. Dr. Balsly...ever met a doctor who steered you away from the unnecessary treatments because they would cost more? Yeah, me either. Until I met him. Did I mention he also performs major procedures IN HOUSE? Offering 3 different types of sedation therapy? I realize it was only my first visit, but Im hooked. Already set up appointments for the rest of my family :-) In a word... IMPRESSIVE

I moved from a different close-by Mason dentist in 2015, and couldnt have made a better choice. After trying Trailside out for a year, I went ahead and had my whole family move to Trailside. The level of professionalism, friendliness, care in treatment, honesty and explanations are light years better than our previous dental practice. Our previous dentist(s) basically were focused on selling us up on supposed dental problems, thereby more $ for them. They even applied pressure tactics in order to get us to have work performed. After moving to Trailside, we learned that 2 recently recommended procedures from our previous dentist, for two of my children, actually arent even close to necessary at this time. Scheduling is easy, and the hygienists/dentist are all pleasant to work with.

Last year I went on Medicaid for the first time. I called all over Hamilton, Butler and Warren Counties looking for a dentist to see me. Dr.Balslys office took me no problem. The staff has always been very friendly and efficient, plus the office is very pretty and clean.The automatic reminders are also nice. I was just in the office on 6/16/2015 and just wanted to praise the sweet dental hygienist I had. Her name was Andreas (sorry if spelling is wrong). Her voice was very calming, she was very mannered and knowledgeable. She was so gentle in my mouth that I kept almost falling asleep which was great. Even the flossing, which is the part I hate the most, went off without a hitch. I loved her! Keep up the good work!

Dr. Balsly found a cavity in my last remaining wisdom tooth and gave me the option of filling it or removing it altogether. I chose to have it pulled since it is a chore to brush it and I knew it was only going to get move cavities in the future. I remembered the last few times I had wisdom teeth removed from other dentists and I have to say that this was by FAR the easiest and most comfortable Ive been with this procedure. I cant say enough good things about Dr. Balsly and his staff. They made sure my post-op information was clear and even followed up with a nice email to recap anything I may have not heard. I will continue to take my family to this dental office.....very happy!

Today was my first experience at Trailside Dental and immediately the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped with all the new information I needed for my dental care. I can already tell I am going to like continuing to go to this dental practice because of the caring staff. I would like to especially thank Nancy for being so kind and compassionate as she did my x-rays, exams, and teeth cleaning. She helped me learn the proper way to better care for my teeth,(since previous dentists offices had misinformed me). I look forward to seeing her again for my future visits. This goes a long way with patients! Thank you so much for just being pleasant and understanding!

With all the work I have ever had done, trailside dentistry is byfar the BEST. As a stroke survivor and many years of epileptic seizures, my teeth were so broken and full of fillings by prior dentist. I was tired of the same ol same ol and wanted to finally have a chance at a beautiful smile. Dr. Balsly and his wonderful staff gave me the hope that became a reality by providing me with options. When Sonny told me what she would do if my teeth were in her mouth- I knew they understood my pain and concerns and cared about me as a person not just another payment. I love the care and treatment I receive from Trailside Dental.

If I could give ZERO stars I would!!! I called the office 2 weeks ago to make an appointment and was told they were not taking any new patients at this time because they only take 20 new patients a month and to call back on June 1st so I can get scheduled. I called today, June 1st to get appointments and I was told by Laura were not taking new patients this month, but you can try again in July...July??? What a COMPLETE waste of my time. I could have gone elsewhere by now and already had my childrens teeth cleaned. Very poor customer service! You should really try being honest and upfront about your "policies"!

Ive had several crowns done by Dr. Balsly and they look and feel like real teeth! He also repaired a chip on my front tooth. You cant even tell where the chip was before. Dr. Balsly and his staff always seem to have solutions to my problem teeth. Also, he accepted my mom on a last minute basis to reglue her two front crowned teeth that fell out because her dentist didnt have the time or concern to see her. My mom was very upset that she would have to go to a function with her two front teeth missing! Dr. Balsly saved the day! My mom is now his patient and just loves him.
