It it were an option, I would select 25 stars for this Veterinary clinic. My veterinarian is Dr. Busack who is, by far, the most knowledgeable medical professional for animals that I have EVER encountered and I have had my share of animals (both typical and exotic). Also working with Dr. Busack was Sylvia, one of the other professionals working at the Pet Hospital who is knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and willing to spend that extra time with her clients. I found Bartels Busack Pet Hospital on 9/21/2016 when my 19 year old cat, Apples, was in a crisis situation due to a lack of true medical support and knowledge from my previous vet. I found the clinic online and it looked like a reputable place so I took my cat there immediately for support. I was so fortunate the Dr. Busack was on that evening because, although my first experience with the clinic included the putting down of my beloved cat whom I had for 19 years, the care and emotional support that was provided by both the Dr. and Sylvia was beyond exceptional. As soon as we arrived, Dr. Busack exercised a very hands on approach that I have yet to see from any veterinarian. Much like we as humans get physical exams where the physician actually looks at us and accesses our physical state, Dr. Busack was almost able to project what the underlying issue was just from performing a thorough physical. I feel that many veterinarians are so quick, before even touching the animal, to say that we need this test and that test before they have even really felt the animal from head to toe, you have incurred a $500 bill. I am not cheap when it comes to my pets as can be seen from the extensive testing that was done before I had to make the decision to have my cat put down but it is nice to know that the testing is being done for no reason. When the test results came back, Dr. Busack was very compassionate but factual in what was taking place. He was very honest in the options that were available for my cat and did not sugar coat the duress that these options would cause. As a side note, I learned more about cats and their physiology in that one appointment than I had learned in the 19 years of being the caregiver of my own. When I broke into tears after realizing what had to be done, for my cats well-being, he and Sylvia were exceptionally supportive and provided information that made me feel that my decision was the best. He in no way indicated that i had to make this call and it was evident that, if I had wanted to put her through the extensive supports that she would need to keep her going, if only for a few months, that he would be there to help me support her and ensure that I was prepared with the information that i would need. In the end, although I left the clinic without my cat holding nothing but her blanket... I felt almost at ease that such caring people were there for me and my cat in her final hours. After Apples passing, the Hospital provided me with a touching memento of her paw prints in a clay heart which still sits atop of her memorial in my home. I mentioned a great deal about Dr. Busack above but I cannot leave out the genuine caring and loving nature of his colleague, Sylvia. She too was exceedingly knowledgeable and very supportive. Not long after the passing of my cat, on 10/2/2016, my spouse and I adopted a 1 1/2 year old shelter dog (Xena...the Warrior puppy) who has become the light of our life and I quickly returned to Bartels Busack Pet Hospital to initiate her preventative care with both Dr. Busack and Sylvia. Well, Ive never been a dog owner and after telling them that they showered me with advice regarding the best care possible. Sylvia, as Im assuming, could see that training-wise, I had no idea what I was doing, and kindly recommended a good training school...since I already trusted her 100%, I enrolled us the next day. It was the most helpful class I have ever taken and I have 4 degrees including those beyond a M.A. I have so much more to say but am running out of characters so, in summation.. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bartels Busack!

The best thing that you can do for your pet is to bring it to Bartels Busak Pet Hospital. I have never supported pet hospitals before, I never had a good experience and honestly thought it was the biggest business scam up until 5 months ago, when my chihuahua Masha became very sick. She had to get her uterus removed immediately. It was Sunday and majority of the hospitals were closed, emergency rooms were opened but there was nothing they could do, until one of them recommended to call Bartels and Busak. When we arrived, we were plesently surpised by how nice and clean the hospital looked, also the atmosphere was very nice, calm, and friendly. We were greeted by a friendly, professional receptionist, who was extremely nice to my dog. Shortly after we checked in we were seen by one of the nurses, who took us to a separate room where she asked us quesitons regarding Mashas condition and after that we were greeted by the doctor. He also asked several questions, both of them were very gentler with the dog. He was very straight forward with us, told us all of the possibilities and walked us step by step through the whole process. When we told them that financially we were not able to pay for everything right away, we were offered different options of how to handle all of the finances. We did not feel any pressure or were not treated any differently. Masha had to get an emergency surgery to remove her uterus. When we left her at the hospital, we received mutlpile calls from the doctor himself to let us about her blood work, her condition, whether there is hope with a surgery. He also called us as soon as the surgery was over to give us an update on Mashas status. We were able to take her home in 24 hours. Within those 24 hours, I received multiple follow up calls on the Mashas status update from the hospitals staff. Throughout the whole process I felt as the whole hospital truly cared about tiny chihuahua. When Masha came back home, someone reached out from the hospital every day to check on how she feels and if I had any questions. They saved my dogs life, while making the whole process so easy and caring! Masha feels absolutely amazing! We recently moved to a different state...I am honestly not sure what we will do without Bartels Busak Pet Hospital, I am almost tempted to fly to Ohio with Masha just for their five star service!

This Place is a horrible rip off!!! They over charge you for evrything. I was so incredibly dissapointed, yeah ok they are high tech and have all these services they offer, but Im not even sure they know what theyre doing with them!!! my first visit I brought my Ferrets and cat in, they told me my cat had a heart murmur and that they needed to do xrays and all this other crap.... it ended up costing me over a grand, and there was nothing even wrong with her. I also had the ferrets checked and they were sent away with a clean bill of health... a week went by and one of them had to be put down, due to this mysterious blockage that nobody caught when I was in there last??!! They couldnt even explain to me what excatly happend. They tried to get me to send the ferret to their "SPECIAL" ferret surgeon that could maybe save him.... for the low low price of $4000.00!! These people are crazy!!! Then I had my Dog in for a grooming appointment, they chopped her front left two nails so short shes been limping and was bleeding pretty bad when I got her home, and of course they charged me seven dollars over their highest estimated cost, becuase she was scared of blow dryer and they had to cage dry her, I didnt know it cost more moeny for you to do less work??!! Finally I have been using 1-800-petmeds since Ive owned animals and have never had a problem using it till I switched to using this horribly unreasonable, overpriced, ignorant group of a%& holes!! They wouldnt fax or call in the prescription...NO they made me come pick it up, you have to call an hoour ahead (which is rediculous, you have this huge facility and it takes an hour to get a prescription??? to busy ripping other people off!!??) When I asked why they dont fax it in the receptionist told me that their boss doesnt let them!! I had to come back the next day to get it, and then this is the topper THEY CHARGED ME $75.00 freaking dollars just to write it. My dog had just been in a week ago, they had her wieght, she is up to date on all her shots, they had to do nothing but write it!!??? You people are ridiculous!!! Need to suck every last penny out of people.....I will never ever recommend you, I am so unbelievably irritated, what a SCAM!!
