Generally, there are a lot of colleges in Philadelphia, but not too many of them have a high reputation. Theres the University of Pennsylvania and thats about it. Drexel has neither a high nor low regard, and Temple is known to be good in a few areas, like law, but not so good in other areas, like most everything else. Nationally, the school doesnt even exist outside of any references to Bill Cosby. But locally, its supposed to be a pretty powerful school, finacially, and its supposed to be more accessible than the much more upper-class Drexel and U.Penn. -- However, when I got there, I soon found out how wrong I was. While the schools "reputation" is supposed to be that of a middle class college, the school in reality, tries to be an upper middle class, elitist snob school. I say "tries" because it so is not. While the student body is diverse enough, the overall air of the school is just a "we think were better than we really are" attitude of eltiism and exclusivity. As if you were at some kind of poorer version of Harvard or something. Which isnt even warranted being Temple isnt a blip the radar outside the city and even inside the city, barely ranks as an "average" level institution of higher learning. -- I guess another way to put it is the school is snobby and arrogant. Not just in its campus, but everywhere. Many of the students are of the "privileged" type who feel theyre "too cool" to be at a Drexel or U.Penn. Or maybe they couldnt get in or whatever. However, the attitude still persists. A feeling of having to conform in order to be accepted. Depending on what type of person you are though, this probably wont bother you. -- The classes are huge and jam packed and not really taught very well because of this, at least in my opinion. There is no help anywhere to be found and the "tutoring" offered is taught by students who are there for a paycheck and nothing more. Most of them spend time on their iPhones or iPads talking to others and not helping anyone. And did I mention how youre literally just a number there? The whole ENTIRE school is served on an electronic online system. This isnt just for registration and student records, but for literally EVERYthing the school is involved in. They pride themselves on being very "high tech and tech forward," but the major problem is NOTHING ever works! In a school with over 50,000 students, having everything being online may seem efficient if the system actually worked well and didnt crash or lose information all the time! Its complete chaos! And the school is so overly reliant on their electronic records system that does not ever seem to work straight. Ive been in the electronic help-desk center and they are over-worked there, all the time. -- Overall, Temple University is an average school trying hard to "hang with" the University of Pennsylvanias and other types of schools they feel are better and more prestigious in the eyes of people, and seem to model themselves around the very perception of this image. Only, they are not a snobby Ivy League school that caters to the upper middle class and they are not a school seen on a national reputation. They arent even a really good school, really. Its an "average" if that school teying to hype itself up to be something better than it really is. Its phony, but ironically, mostly seen as a school more accessible to more realistic, working class type of students. How one feels about the school when they actually get there is subjective, but what I can tell you from my year there in 2009 is that Temple has a local reputation of being for the "middle class," but in reality, they strive to be a school for the elite 1% of Americans. They are not, but this doesnt stop them from trying to pretend to be.

This hospital has the worst customer care that I have ever experienced and sadly to say it should not be this way especially when a surgery is to be conducted. After a follow up from an emergency visit Dr Kim Bong-Soo informed me I will be required to get emergency surgery so we set a date for the following week. After receiving the news I was in shock and failed to ask some questions so I called the following day the receptionist said the nurse will call me back which she failed to do so the following day I called again and still no call back (how disappointed and disturbing) so I called patient relations and after leaving a message I finally got a call back! Three days later another nurse called me to informed me that my surgery will have to be postponed because of "some additional paperwork my insurance company is requesting" She informed me that she will call me back with a date! I decided to call my insurance company and come to find out the nurse had failed to enter the most important code for the surgery. (How disturbing!) I decided to go for a second opinion somewhere else and decided to go with another hospital and surgeon. I feel so much more at ease the surgeon and facility that I had visited was so welcoming the staff was great the nurse took her time to explain every detail. I really did not have to ask any questions. The surgeon spoke highly of Dr Kim Bong-Soo and described him as a superior surgeon but unfortunately Temple Broad St Hospital gives him such a bad reputation because of the poor customer service. I would never return to that hospital! And after 3 days since the nurse had called me to inform me that my surgery would be postponed she finally got around to call me again and to notify me that my surgery date will not be conducted on 3/4 but instead on 3/25. Its supposed to be an emergency surgery and its sad that they did not take into consideration the amount of horrific pain I am experiencing and for that reason I give Temple such a poor rating!!! Note to Dr. Kim Bong-SOO MD your staff are incompetent they give you a bad reputation. I have heard your are an amazing and a superior surgeon I would of loved for you to be the one to conduct my surgery but due to your staff I would never return to that facility! They give me a bad case of anxiety!

I thought I was in labor I was 40 weeks pregnant so I went thru the emergency room because thats what I thought I was supposed to do. The women on the labor and deliver floor who signed me in was so rude!! She was was annoyed that I went thru the emergency room and not straight to the labor and delivery floor. The nurses and doctors during my delivery were great I was in labor for 25 hours and was super tired after. When I got up to the maternity floor the nurses were so horrible. They tried to put me in a room with another women who had just given birth which I find so gross to share a bathroom and a shower with someone who also just had a baby like you are bleeding alot and to share a bathroom is so nasty. I complained and was very upset about this because they said my husband could not sleep in the room with me and were being rude when I began to cry. After being awake for more then 25 hours and pushing a baby out the nurses should have been a little more understanding but no! one of the nurses told me to stop crying there is no reason my husband needed to stay with me. Finally they moved me to a private room after an hour of them telling me to basically get over it. also I was never informed that the baby stays with you all day and night and is never taken to the nursery. I had 2 other children at other hospitals who were taken to the nursery after delivery to give me some rest. I was so tired and sick and in pain and 1 hour after giving birth the baby was in the room with me screaming crying. I had no rest what so ever after being in labor for 25 hours. When I asked the nurse if the baby could go to the nursery so I could get rest she laughed at me and said it is mom job not theirs to take care of the baby and he would not be leaving my room. So I didnt sleep for more then 4 hours the entire 3 days I was in that hospital. The nurses were rude and uncareing. Anytime i called the nurses station for something it was like i was bothering them and they were annoyed that they had to bring me diapers or pads it was horrible. I would never recommended anyone to give birth at this hospital.
