On June 16, 2016 I had an appointment with Dr. Thomas Dietze. I made the appointment because I was experiencing terrible discomfort in my left eye. He dismissed my severe pain, stating that I just needed new contacts and instructed me to see an optometrist. This prognosis was hasty, as I needed medical attention immediately. Within a week of our visit, my cornea ruptured and I am now blind in my left eye. I was in emergency surgery to save my eye and luckily the doctors were able to save it. However, I am blind now in my left eye. I went to see him after that to ask if there is any hope of receiving a corneal eye transplant. His comments were hurtful and negative as he said " putting a new cornea in your eye is like putting new tires on an old beat up junk car." I was extremely hurt an dozen dead by t his commentary, and have not gone back since. I want to warn people about not only his negligence, but his unacceptable bedside manner.
