Dr. Dave is an EXCELLENT salesman, but a HORRIBLE healthcare provider! Went last week for a cleaning and wound up but being set up for a crown. Dr. sat down with me for almost an hour, discussing my case and put me at ease. I trusted him because if he could sit down with me for an hour and take that time to discuss my care, past, present, and future, he must provide awesome care...WRONG!! OMG so wrong and I feel like I got bamboozled in the worst way. After my 1st appt I went home in massive pain once the novocain wore off and he didnt even give my ibuprofen. Called the office and the call center paged the on call Dr 3 separate times, no one called back. No one cared. I wound up having to get drunk to pass out, which meant I couldnt nurse my daughter that night, which only made me cry harder, which made the pain in my mouth worse. Next appt...I show up 45 min early to discuss that not only did no one educate me on the pain I was going to deal with, but that I called looking for help and no one called back. I also explained that I came in with discomfort in a tooth and now Im in actual pain. He IMMEDIATELY got defensive and said we discussed that I could be in more pain afterwards and thats what in my chart. I explained thats not true you told me it may not solve the problem and that I may need a root canal and he just kept defending himself. Then said he didnt want to do the appt that day because I was in pain and that I needed to come back. AGAIN...who has that kind of time?? I said it needed to be done that day because again I didnt eat and my husband was home with our 1 year old. He asked if I had any sensitivity to hot or cold or trouble biting on that tooth or brushing and I said no. He said "put that in her chart" and then got started. Once again they refused to put me at a comfortable level with the nitrous. My appt was at 9am...and by 9:11 they said that we either start or I need to come back. I called my husband crying. They just dont care and I guess why should they I already paid in full. I said go ahead and then mentally checked out. For anyone who has ever suffered trauma, like being beaten or raped (sorry for being so graphic) they understand what its like to check out mentally and just wait and pray for it to be over. This is horrifyingly the best way I can explain my experience there. Just waited and prayed for him to be done... When the torture was over, I needed pain meds because I was NOT going home again to suffer in pain and have my 2 daughters witness me crying in agony. I couldnt take NSAIDS because I already was on them for a shoulder injury and that would put me at a greater risk for stomach bleeding and ulcers. I couldnt take Norco because I already take them for arthritis and refuse to take more than the prescribed dosage and they didnt break the pain after my 1st appt. He basically made me feel like a pill popping druggy because he wanted the name of my pharmacy to call them and find out what meds Im on, my primary care physicians number, to "inquire" about what meds I can take (or am taking or have taken as far as Im concerned), and my rheumatologist. Then he prescribed me Percocet at such a low dosage that multiple pharmacies didnt even dispense them! Wound up having to drive back for a new rx, once he again, called the pharmacy 1st to check. I felt so violated and sick to my stomach. Today is the day after the permanent crown was put in and now I have hot/cold sensitivity and cant brush. I called this morning around 10a to seek help and got a call 8 hrs later, about 30 min ago (when I started writing this because Im infuriated) saying if the pain doesnt go away hes just gonna send me to see a endodontost. So basically he created pain, wont fix it, and is just gonna pawn me off to someone else who is also going to charge me hundreds of dollars no doubt to fix his shotty work. I am APPAULED and DISGUSTED and took the time to write this long review to save anyone else I can from being exposed to this quack of a dentist! He doesnt care about you, I promise. RUN!!

I am completely shocked by the bad reviews. Ive been coming to this Dr. Dave for the past 4 years. I dont think Ill ever go anywhere else thats how much I love this office. The staff and Dentist are caring and very cordial. Ive never experienced the pain or mistakes during procedures like I have at other dentists. Ive been burned and stabbed with tools at other places but not here. Stsff at other places rude and unprofessional but not here! They are indeed a bit more expensive than my previous Dentist depending on what youre getting but Id gladly pay more for higher quality work and products. I like their top of the line crowns which brings me to why I decided to write todays review. I went in wanting a crown replaced done by another Dentist in the HEB area around 2013. The crown has slipped some and was not a good match in my mouth like the crowns Dave has done. so for cosmetic reasons and because I thought the tooth was or would cause me problems from slipping I told them I wanted it replaced. . I was ready card in hand...to fork over almost $900!!! This office is NOT money hungry!!! Dr Dave inspected the crown and said while I might not like how it looks... its sound. He tested it for pain and sensitivity and he found no issue with the crown. Maybe if I wouldve insited they may have done the work but for me I think its great that he treated my concern seriously. Checked everything out but ultimately said hey I dont want you to give us money when theres truly no reason to. This office is A O.K. with me!!!

Prior to going in to see Dr Chimnay I saw a dentist 6 months prior who said my teeth were in good condition. When I saw Dr Chimnay at Glade Dentistry he told me I needed 3 crowns and 3 fillings. I was given a "financial arrangement" which stated I would be required to pay $800 for a metal composite crown and $70 for one surface filling and $140 for a two surface filling. Both the Dr and the staff applied heavy pressure trying to sell me the CERAC crown that they could make in office and let me have for "only" $800….normally $975 (on sale today!). The prices all sounded high so I called Delta Dental and they confirmed my suspicions . They said my copay was $485 for a metal composite crown (not $800) , $20 for one surface filling (not $70) and $30 for two surface filling (not $140). Still suspicious… and now worried that I needed thousands of dollars worth of dental work…. I checked around and was lucky enough to find a reputable dentist on my plan who agreed to see me. They not only took their own x-rays at no charge to me but they gave me a free examination as well. Their findings were the same as the first dentist. NO WORK NEEDED AT THIS TIME! I would stay far far away from Glade Modern Dentistry.
