I have been going to this location for 12 years, back when Dr. Fussell owned it and was horrified when it was sold. I took a chance after my first call with Office Manager, Betty, who was most welcoming and informative. My two small pups were assessed by Zack (no longer there) and Anthony, who was terrific with his nurturing personality. I was in shock when I took my 17 year old Bichon in to be euthanized, and the vet on duty recommended one more round of different meds (That did not feel right to me, but I complied.) Several weeks later it was crucial to be done, and Betty recognized me, took me out of line, and immediately sent me to a treatment room. Both Zack and Anthony handled the preparation-- I am diabetic which they realized and brought me a chair, water and a cold compress. They were sympathetic with their questions and empathy exuded as if Josey was their dog. I cannot imagine there being any more services or procedures offered to me or Josey. At least a year went by until I visited again. Betty new me by name-- I still had my now 13 year old Poodle and a now 7 year old rescued, abused, stray Schnorkie, who still shutters around new people. Somehow Anthony and he became friends. BUT then I met Dr Diana Blessman-- aka Blessing!! Just about the most empathetic Veterinarian I have EVER engaged-- and I have had dogs for AT LEAST 20 YEARS! She is concerned about owners understanding of diagnosis, treatment and aftercare. Her patience is never-ending-- none of my perhaps mundane questions irritated her. She has become my "forever vet" along with my referrals to the practice. Ive had a few more visits and appreciate their relationship building. This is now run effectively and politely, and there is a new tech, Trayell, that also seems quite competent and loves animals. BRAVO-- I am there for good!! "

Let me start by saying, I understand nothing is free, yet there are circumstances that you would think may warrant bending rules a little bit. I took my dog, Jayda, to PetWorks on Friday, and I spent $333 and some change, $78 for a prescription due to pain. Mind you, Houston just experienced a severe flood and, sadly, there were lives lost, property damage et cetera, thus, its been declared a "disaster." With all of that going on and trying to get to a safer environment, I lost the "pain meds" that I just purchased, and when I called PetWorks Express and explained my situation, I asked if there was any way they could give me another prescription, perhaps, with some sort of discount considering the extenuating circumstances, and I was told "No, we cant. We can give you another prescription, but you have to pay $78 again," per the "receptionist (and decision-maker for PetWorks Express). I am pissed, because this shows me that PetWorks Express could not possibly care about animals, because its either cough up an additional $78 or allow my dog to suffer. Really? I am livid, especially considering the amount of money I spent and the fact that the pills were lost during a weather disaster. Jayda also had an appointment to have her teeth cleaned, but I told them to cancel it. I cannot believe this, and I am utterly shocked!! Again, I did not ask for a freebie; however, I simply pleaded my case by asking if they could help me, because the pills were lost as a result of trying to move to a safer location during the storm. I believe its more of feeling a bit hurt considering Jaydas in pain.

First time here at PetWorks Express. I was struggling to find an economical vet clinic to take my pup of 1yr. I knew he was going to need x-rays as he had been limping and there was no obvious evidence of fracture or strain. A friend recommended PetWorks Express, so I gave them a call and the prices were extremely reasonable. They are a walk in clinic, so I took my boy and headed over. No waiting time. We were the only ones in at the time, though after there was a good flow of clients walking in. He was checked within 15mins of our arrival. Both the nurse and doctor were very gentle and nurturing with my boy. My little one needed a couple x-rays and to be sedated. I was told theyd need to leave him for a few hours till the sedative wore off. They seem to be very trustworthy staff. I told the nurse and receptionist in a playful manner "I know where yall work. If anything happens to my baby." We all just laughed. Overall, it was great, two thumbs up. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

Ive been here to get my 2 dogs vaccinations up to date in the past but recently I needed flea medication for my dogs and the lady in the office recommended a new flea preventative that I was to pick up. Once I got there she realized their order for it wasnt in yet but she gave me a complimentary Capstar for both my babies until it got there. This helped so much because my fur babies were able to get relief and it helped me sleep at night from all the scratching they were doing. I did try out the new flea preventative by the name of Bravecto and so far so good, not a single flea on my babies. I also recommend pet owners to give Bravecto a try by the way, it lasts for 3 months. I will definitely be going back and as a person who also works with animals, I will also recommend this clinic to other customers.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Pet Works Express and everyone that works there. Our family has rescued many neighborhood stray cats and all of them have been neutered/spayed at Pet Works. The staff are always smiling and so very kind to all the scared pets that walk through the door. In addition to high quality service, friendly and knowledgeable Drs. and staff, they are the most affordable place to care for your pets. We have a dog that developed epilepsy and Dr. Blessing has truly been a blessing to us. She has made this difficult time much easier for us and given us hope for a high quality of life for our 4-legged son.

Ive been at this place multiple times to have my dogs vaccinations done. Fairy because the prices are decent and inexpensive. I always recommend friends and family here because its a nice environment. A few months ago though, I witness a dog being put to sleep, which was not pleasant at all. The place is set up into two cubbies, no doors or anything. Why would anyone who is a pet lover have to witness a dog being put to sleep? I was upset and distressed, no one should have to witness that. Honestly I think that shouldve been taken care of in the back room, not in the cubbies where other people are across from each other.

Great experience. This facility was highly recommended to me by friends, I called and all my questions were answered without hesitation. I have been back several times now in the last few weeks and every time been impressed, not only how quickly the receptionist remembered my dogs but also by the doctors, they are amazing and caring. The bedside manners are also outstanding, I went on a Saturday and there was a very young man that offered to help me with my dogs while I filled out the forms. Just a larger waiting area would be really nice because it does get packed but overall love this place.
