HORRIBLE! I took my son in for one cavity to be filled. The first visit was good, and she seemed like she would take care of my son so I schedule the visit for the cavity to be filled. When they called us back to the room my son was tired and cranky, they asked if this was a bad day and said that we may need to reschedule since he wasnt too happy. I told them that it probably wouldnt make a difference since he is only 3 and this was only his second visit to the dentist. He was scared but I figures once they sedated him he would be fine. They gave him the medicine to calm him down, and instead of waiting 30 mins we wait for over an hour before they take him back for the procedure. By this time he is beyond tired, feeling loopy from the drugs, and hungry. I wasnt allowed back at this point, which was explained to me, but I told them he wasnt going to be very happy and would fight them. They took him back and less than two minutes later brought him back to me saying that he was too out of control to do the procedure and he would have to go somewhere else. Ok after two mins you cannot tell me you tried to soothe him or calm him down. They are supposed to be a pediatric dentist for a reason! I told them that he cannot be the only kid that is scared for their first procedure at the dentist. She then proceeds to tell me (in front of everyone, other patients included) that my kid is not the typical kid and that he was kicking and screaming at her.... He is three years old, scared, and you are a complete stranger, of course he is going to kick and scream! He just wanted his mother with him, and in my opinion if she cant handle a kid being scared then she should not be a pediatric dentist! Everything happens for a reason though, and after reading her reviews (which I should have done in the first place) I am glad she didnt touch my sons teeth! Also come to find out she did the same thing with my niece. She should NOT be dealing with any kids, and really shouldnt be in practice anywhere!

Please do not bring your child here! The first visit was ok, thought she would be a great dentist. Second appointment, all that changed. She told me my son needed a root canal and a crown....he was only a year and a half old. But I didnt know any better, so I said, go ahead with the procedure. My son was freaked out, so she was trying to give him medication, and held his mouth open while forcing medication down his throat. He was screaming, gagging, and crying!! She said he was overreacting, but my son was traumatized. Her office recommended another pediatric specialist, and when we took him there, they said that none of that was necessary, because they were baby teeth!!!!!! The specialists all the way in GALVESTON had heard horror stories about this woman! If you care about your babies, DONT BRING THEM HERE!!

Im not sure why anyone would say anything negative about Dr. Manders and her staff, they are all incredible and kind. They made sure that my autistic child was as comfortable as possible. They ensured she was the only patient in the office to limit the possibility of a sensory overload, well much as that can be limited. She was just as kind and willing to go above and beyond for my nephew who doesnt have a sensory processing disorder. I would recommend her to anyone who has a child.

Called my insurance company and told them not to pay her for anything but the X-rays. She ran the electric brush in my sons mouth for literally 34 seconds (I counted) and called it a cleaning. Took him to Houston instead. Talk about small town mentality. People think that just because they're the only game in town they can get away with things like that. Mommies beware and make sure to go to a dentist that will do right by your babies and their teeth.
