I am VERY happy with the Family Pet Clinic of North Richland Hills. We recently had a very traumatic experience with one of our puppies. He got very sick and we needed urgent care for him. We were regulars of a different vet closer to my house. They didnt have what they needed to actually help our puppy. We were sent instantly over to the Family Pet Clinic. They were able to already have us checked in and rushed us where we needed to be. Even though it ended up in one of the saddest moments in my adult life having to make the toughest choice of my life to have our puppy "put down" due to the circumstances, they were very friendly, polite, comforting, understanding and very willing to help make everything a little less... difficult in that time. They have been amazing, They sent a sympathy card also regarding our baby. I am VERY impressed with this vet. I would/have recommended everyone come straight here. Everyone is wonderful and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you guys! EDIT: Still loving it! I have a puppy that has been seeing Dr. Garrettson now for his entire 6 months of life! Everyone there is so wonderful and nice and friendly and helpful. This is by far the best and most dog/customer friendly ever!

I honestly keep forgetting to post this thing over and over again anyway long story short, these guys ought be highly praised because WOW these guys are so good. I had my first visit after being faced with an emergency over my gecko. I called them from a recommendation and the lady who responded was very sweet and very patient with me while I was crying and practically freaking out. I came and waited my turn, met with Dr. Ford who was also very patient and kind. He confirmed my fears and even further explained some thjngs for me to understand better. Having a hectic schedule, they worked with me move to another appointment date no problem and when I came back I was given the same sweet treatment as the first time and even more! I honestly wish I could write about the whole experience but Im not the best with words, but trust me when I say that these guys really do CARE about your pet and even you, yourself. I plan on coming again very soon; as soon as I can make an appointment with them at the very least.

My family has had several guinea pigs over the past few years and have always used Family Pet Clinic. Its difficult to find vets in our area who care for exotic pets, and I am so glad I found them! Most recently, Dr. Ford has provided vet care for a couple of our piggies. He is truly compassionate, sympathetic, and caring. Guinea pigs typically live only a few years; so when our piggies have reached the end of life and are suffering, he has helped us weigh the treatment options. Unfortunately, we have had to euthanize our last two due to their failing health. Many pet owners dont seem to appreciate the fact that exotic pets are "family members", too - just like dogs and cats. Dr. Ford and the staff dont hold that opinion! They allowed me the option to be with the piggies as they drew their last breaths and to say my goodbyes -- this meant a lot to me. I highly recommend Family Pet Clinic -- their staff is excellent, too! Thanks for providing excellent care to our furry friends.

We have been taking our dogs here for many years and would never change. The office staff is wonderful, the doctors are very compassionate. I was in the office with several others waiting to see the doctors and an obvious very tragic situation was occurring with a dog who had jumped out of car window while on his way to the vet for a check up, everyone in the lobby was so sad, I for one was trying to control the tears, when I looked around everyone else was too, the girl behind the desk walked around to everyone with a tissue box. Ive had to put one of our dogs down and they were wonderful, we tried to save him but after three days they just couldnt do anything else for him, he stayed there and the kennel was not dirty or disgusting and the let me stay and sit with my dog anytime I wanted and for as long as I wanted, they made my dog comfortable and they made sure I was comfortable. I would highly recommend this office to anyone.

This place is expensive. They say my 15 yr old cat needs a senior blood screen which she had a few yrs ago. I said she either has blood in her stool or urine. $260 for a senior blood screen $40 Doctor fee. Fecal test about $30. 2 years ago they charged me $700-ish for a wellness plan that we never used and removed 80% of my cats teeth saying shes allergic to her teeth. They Gave me pills in lieu of a shot for my 5yr old tom cat that is allergic to fleas. Cost was over $500 for 2 cat checkups, medication for fleas for my tom cat, steriod pills, and senior cat blood work. Senior blood test cam backe with stage 3 of 4, kidney disease. They gave me a prescription for Royal Canin Food to reduce phosphorus intake and an antibiotic. They are open till 7pm which helped me get there after work to pick up the meds.

I took my senior dog in due to gradual, but severe weight loss and when I walked in I was greeted and felt comfortable. Once we met with the vet, I immediately knew this is finally the vet I will be sticking with. I dont know about anyone else, but a lot of vets I have had experience with lack "bedside manner" just as a lot of doctors do and thats something thats extremely important to me. When you take your animal in, you do so because youre worried and I can bust out into tears with hearing the smallest thing is wrong with my dog. This vet made me feel taken care of like they were going to do anything to help my dog that they would do for their own and that was exactly the kind of care I needed. I highly, highly recommend going here over anyone else in the area. Thank you!!!

Our first visit with one of our dogs for a wellness check was to Dr. Kim Jarret. We were extremely dissatisfied with her. She was very unintetested in us and our dog and acted as if our visit was bothersome. No smile or friendly word to us or our dog. The rest of the staff was great though so we asked the vet tech if she recommended any of the other vets. She told us about Dr. Vicarrio so we brought another one of our dogs in for wellness to see her and she was excellent! Very friendly with our dog and us and very knowledgeable! She let us decide on a treatment plan as we discovered our dog has lyme disease, and she didnt push us into anything. We will keep using Dr. Vicarrio as our vet and I am glad we gave them another chance before going somewhere else!

Weve taken our dogs here for about 3 years for just about everything including teeth cleaning/extraction, vaccinations and x-rays. Every interaction weve had has been positive, everyone is very friendly and helpful. Once we get out of the car our dogs are excited to go inside. We also unfortunately have had to use their services when we had to let go of one of our babies. The vet was very respectful and allowed us to take our time saying goodbye. Pet services are seldom cheap and this place is no exception, however we always have a good understanding of what we are paying for and always feel that the vet has our pets best interest in mind. Also the paw plan has really come in handy-all it takes is one emergency to pay off.
