I had the pleasure of meeting Dr.Merchant over 10 years ago through business, even before I had a baby. She was always so caring when she talked about her practice and being a pediatrician. So shortly thereafter, my husband and I started trying for a baby and our decision for a pediatrician was simple. Dr. Merchant! She has been my 8 1/2 year olds dr since the day he was born. When he was a couple of years old, Dr. Merchant moved to Plano. Through a paperwork glitch at her old office and them also not wanting to lose a patient, I couldnt find her for a year. So one day I started calling all the hospitals in the area asking if there were any pediatricians new to the area and gave them her name. After 4 hospital nurseries, I found her! A nurse said the thought she knew what office she was in and would call to find out and give me a call back. Before the nurse could even call me back, Dr. Merchant had called me herself. We drive 30-40 minutes to her office, but its so worth it. She cares about my kiddos (I now have a 1 year old as well). I feel that she truly loves them. She gets emotional at birthdays and shares in our joys. She actually remembers my oldest as a baby and tells me how the two boys are similar and different. You know she cant possibly have pictures of them in her files! She gives good, sound advice. She has always taken care of my kids! I would follow her again if she moved her office! Shes worth the extra effort because she gives the extra effort! Shes an amazing doctor and her office is always pleasant and helpful! I couldnt ask for more! I recommend her every chance I get! I always give her info out to new moms, post her on mommy websites, and sing her praises everywhere! My husband and I are extremely happy! Dr. Merchant is the right choice for you child(ren)!! Take it from an overprotective, highly critical mommy!!!

After reading her wonderful reviews and being recommended to her, I have to say I was so dissapointed! You find out a lot about a doctor and their staff when you call them with a question regarding your sick child. I found her nurse not only the rudest and most unprofessional, but also did not care what so ever about my question or the fact that I had a sick infant at home! Not only that, she lied to me on the phone saying Dr. Merchant had left for the day when in fact Dr. Merchant was standing right there the whole time! I know this because I had Dr. Merchant call me to address my question and concern that her nurse was too incompetent to answer, and when I explained to her that her nurse was completely insulting to me on the phone, she rudely stated that she didnt find her rude whatsoever and was standing right next to her when the nurse was talking to me!!! If you are looking for a compassionate doctor and is great with small children, she is NOT the doctor for you!!! Maybe shes better with older children but definitely NOT for infants!!! I will NEVER let this woman nor her nurse Mari "Motty" touch my children EVER AGAIN!!!

We are so glad we found Dr. Merchant! She did my daughters well visit last month and we love love loved her. Then she got sick today and they got us right in, and everyone was so nice and friendly. Dr. Merchant is sooo good with my little girl. She is terrified of the table they are supposed to get on and usually clings to me like a koala and wont get out of my lap, but this time she let Dr. Merchant lift her up and sit her right on that table. She has a kind and friendly demeanor and I encourage anyone as picky as I am about bedside manor to go to her!!! So happy we finally found a perfect pediatrician - we have been looking since we moved here and have gone through quite a few doctors with no luck.

My son is 9 months and we have been going to Dr. Merchant since he was 2 weeks old. Ive never had a long wait and Dr. Merchant always gives us plenty of time during our appointments to ask questions. We never feel rushed, which is very different than other places Ive experienced. Staff are wonderful too!

My children went to Dr. Merchant for 7 years until we moved out of state. We have yet to find a Dr. here that comes close to our her. She was very personable from the moment we met her and knew my kids by their voices!
