My family has been going to Dr. B for a very long time. Yes, the place looks a bit outdated, however, the compassion and quality of service we receive from every staff member in his office has been incredible. A little over a year ago now my Yorkie was suffering from parvo. Dr. B literally did everything he could to keep my Bentley alive, he gave him a fighting chance. He kept saying "Bentley is a fighter so we are going to keep pushing for him to pull through." Unfortunately Bentley did not pull through and was suffering severely from the virus. Dr. B spoke with me and I still remember the heaviness of my heart when his voice broke as I sobbed when he told me it was time for Bentley to stop suffering because he wasnt improving like we all prayed he would. He gave me all the time I needed with my baby before he was put to sleep and even told me to take my time. When they came back they asked me if I wanted anymore time with him. They gave me options to stay in the room or step out. Of course I stayed with my angel and comforted him. Dr. B gave me even more time before they took him away. As I pulled myself together, I went to pay the rest of my bill with the receptionist, she told me "Dr. B said please dont worry about the bill we have taken care of it and we are extremely sorry for your loss." I have never had a dog pass away, but this vet office took the weight of the world off my shoulders in time of need. I will forever be grateful to Dr. B for showing such compassion, professionalism, and dedication to all of our family dogs and for treating my Bentley as a dog of his own. Thank you Blue Cross Pet Clinic for all you do for my fur babies, the pet community and for allowing me to trust in you and the staff. It has been over a year since I wrote the review below, I am happy to report that nothing has changed! Prices are still reasonable (which is extremely helpful!) and the vets and staff are still kind and caring! WTG Blue Cross Pet Clinic! One of our community cats showed up with an abscess right by the corner of his eyeball which had started draining. The San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition recommended them to me in order to fix this issue. I called and they told me bring him in between the hours of 8:00am to 11 or 12 to 3. This was extremely convenient for me since I lived so far away and traffic was unpredictable. I saw the vet in a timely manner, he was very nice to the cat reaching for him in a non threatening manner and handling him very well. He was even able to shave the area around the infection and applied ointment for the trip home. He informed me of the cost of everything he was going to do BEFORE he did it and even said, "Im going to add the eye ointment to the receipt, if thats ok, because if you live so far away I would hate for you to need it and have to spend $20 in gas just to come pick some up." He waited for me to say yes or no (I said yes) before adding it. You can really sense the care and compassion these people have for furry critters! THANK YOU to all at Blue Cross Pet Clinic! You have made my first experience a first of many in the future!

I felt compelled to write a review on here, because I used these reviews to choose this place. My cat got sick with urinary issues. I went in having a pretty good idea what it was, because he had a similar problem a few years back. I explained what I thought it was, and the vet didnt hesitate to believe me, performed the quick procedure needed, and offered to do tests, but in no way pushed the issue. This place was amazing! Took my cat home, and he was all cleared up! There was tons of regulars there as well, and people were all genuinely happy with the care. Everyone was polite, helpful, and welcoming. Its always great when a vet experience goes well, especially when youre using online reviews to choose it, and the reviews turn out right. Also, THE PRICES WERE VERY AFFORDABLE!!! Cant stress that enough, this was one of the reasons I chose the place, that and the positive experiences. My cat has a new permanent vet clinic, totally satisfied!

From the start the staff was very friendly, the tech was extremely gentle and friendly with my kitties, helping to calm their anxiety. Then Dr. B was thoroughly informative and didnt come off as a salesman whatsoever like some of the other places Ive been to. He helped me diagnose my 2 male cats itching problems (mites) very quickly as well. Barely a couple hours later, Id received a call about the neuters being very smooth with no complications, which was very consoling. I was then able to pick them up at a time convenient for me, very quickly, with once again a very informative and friendly staff. I will definitely be going back to this clinic in the future and recommending it to everyone I know.

Dr. B is the BEST in SA! He is awesome, he keeps prices reasonable and knows his stuff inside and out. He is like very few vets in SA: He has very very experienced with a wide variety of animal health issues so he can diagnose faster typically, he keeps his prices more reasonable than any vet I know, and if he cant do something, he will tell you and refer you. One of the best finds in SA. It may not be close to where you live, but its worth the drive for the peace of mind that Dr. B will see your pet. I always call and see if Dr. B is in before I go. They dont take appointments, so get there early , or try to go in on weekdays when Dr. B is there.

Dr. Beissner provides good sense and attentive and unhurried care. I was very impressed. His prices were lower by quite a bit and he is much more personable compared to the two other vets Ive been to in the same area. When I phoned in on a Saturday morning with a concern, he got on the phone with me and was extremely helpful, logical and comforting. He takes the time to explain things and doesnt talk down to me. I did not get the idea he was just trying to get my money and get on to the next patient as quickly as possible. He really does his job. Im definitely sticking with him. I very highly recommend him.

We spoke with Dr.Fritz. She was an amazing person. Great personality. We actually had a conversation unlike Beckers Animal Hospital were they treated us like a number. They actually care about your pets, there fees are low, and prescriptions are also low in cost as well. Which was a big plus. Ive have been to several vet clinics and walk out literally spending hundreds of dollars for two prescriptions and today I spent under $150 for same prescription and more!! Thank you so much Dr. Fritz for everything. We will be returning! Now my son is one happy pet! Warm Regards, Marc, Liz and Ted!
