This is a WONDERFUL facility! It is obvious how much they care about animals! It is a small husband and wife facility with only a few doctors, and they are always VERY VERY busy...but have so much passion for what they do and really care for the animals they treat! If you dont have an appointment, be prepared to wait...but trust me, the care your pet will receive is worth it! I have a couple of rescue cats, one of which has an autoimmune disorder which causes his gums to swell to the point of cracking and bleeding (to which he will not eat), normally vets pull all of the cats teeth to resolve this problem (because any bacteria that gets in there from food lodging in the teeth can cause inflammation) but because pulling the teeth doesnt always solve the problem (and being an advocate for my pet and his well being) I asked if we could try to find another solution first and only pull the teeth as a last resort only after all other efforts had been exhausted. Dr. Guavara worked diligently with me to try to come up with an alternative solution, and fortunately we found a good medium that really seems to work well for my cat and we only had to pull about 2 or 3 of the very infected/rotten teeth that could not be saved (as a rescue cat I expected he would need a few teeth pulled, especially because there were a couple that were so bad that visibly I could see how rotten they were). I have had this cat now for nearly a year, and those initial 2-3 teeth are still the only ones that have had to be pulled. Are there times you may wait a while or feel rushed, yes, but that is only because they care so much about animals that they dont have the heart to turn any pet in need away (and often stay several hours after they close until they see all of the patients, I should know, I am often a walk in late in the day, due to my school schedule, and so I am often the last one to be seen, but have never been turned away). If this is a concern for you I recommend taking some paper with you, and while waiting, write down all of the symptoms you can think of or points you want to make so you dont forget anything while in with the doctor (I am a girl of many questions as I want to make sure to understand completely what is going on with my pet so that I can also do my due diligence in researching and understand things in order to make the best informed decisions I can for my pet....so even though they are busy, they are very kind and patient in answering all of my many questions regardless of how small or insignificant the question might be). In addition, the staff is great...all very kind and very patient! In me, they have a life long customer!

We took our baby on 12/19 because she had gotten pregnant from our boy. We wanted to find out how many puppies she was going to have& if she was going to be able to have them naturally. Nurse was amazing, front desk was amazing, but the female vet was incredibly unprofessional. Before I begin I will say our male and female are both pit bulls and I believe this was the reason she was so ugly towards them. She had the audacity to say that our girl was gross because she had what she said was mange when in reality they were just tiny bald spots from where our male and our neighbors female husky play a little rough. Not only was she ugly towards us, she was ugly towards our baby. I have never seen her so scared in her life & shes a very happy/playful dog. Well the vet takes her to another room to get her xray to see how many puppies shes going to have (which I thought was odd due to the fact that our family vet in corpus would allow us to be in the room with our dog). She comes back in and says "Its way to early to determine how many puppies shes going to have. I couldnt see anything. She needs another 40-45 days" in a very annoyed voice. We never even received a copy of the xray or any kind of paperwork. Everything seemed so unprofessional. The worst part is that just yesterday, our baby gave birth to 8 healthy puppies, just 14 days after we took her to get her xray and were told that it was too early to determine how many puppies she was going to have and that there was nothing visible. The reason we decided to get an xray done was to know how many puppies to expect before she went into labor (in the case that one had gotten stuck, we could take her to an animal emergency room). Not only did she have a lack of professionalism but she put our baby in danger! I could go on and on about this vet but the point of this rant is that I will NEVER bring one of my family members to this vet again.

I would give them ZERO if I could. Thieves, incompitent and ignorant staff. DO NOT COME HERE. STAFF JUST TOLD ME THEY HAVE OVER 7,000 CUSTOMERS A DAY AND THEY DO NOT HAVE TIME TO CALL WHEN YOUR PETS MEDICATION IS READY. My cat has chronic respiratory infections and requires human grade antibiotics from a pharmacy out of state that compounds the med to accomodate my 8lb cat. I called in request for refill and offered to pay the express ship fee of $35. The med was filled 9/12 and arrived at office 9/14. I never heard from them. I called them yesterday they said they had to call me back. They called me today and said med was in. Today is the 21st. I said I did not feel I should have to pay the express fee when they never contacted me. The clerk went in the back and a manager came back and said I did not have to pay the fee TODAY. But the balance would stay on my account and eventually go to collections. She said it was MY responsiblity to call and see when med comes in, not theirs. SERIOUSLY? Then told me they have 7,000 patients a day and they cant run after all of them. I argued with her and said No Way do you have 7,000 patients and she told me, " Yes we do I can show you in the computer." I argued with her and said, how can you say I dont have to pay the fee but if I dont pay it, you will send me to a collection agency for $35. She says, " I never said that." I said YES you did. You just said I didnt have to pay today but eventually it would have to be paid. Unbelievable. Horrible customer care. You heard it. They DO NOT have time to provide for you or your pet in a professional manor. They have NO signs at front or nor do they tell you over the phone that it is the pet owners responsibility to call daily to see if your pets medication is in.

My cat was functional prior to arrival for a check up. I was upsold a blood test to check his organ function. I was assured by Dr. Guevara that I would be informed of the results the very next day. I was not, and that is where the trouble began: they had my phone number wrong, even after I had twice corrected it with the receptionist prior to departing. I finally called them instead four days later, and was told by Dr. Guevara that "the organ function was normal," but that he was "concerned about oral abcesses" on the pet, which had never effected his formerly voracious appetite, by the way, as I mentioned to this vet. Within five days of administering the recommended doses of oral antibiotic prescribed here, the cat began losing weight, and eventually refused to eat anymore. Dr. Guevara was once again contacted, and prescribed a "friendly flora" supplement, apparently oblivious to my assertion that the cat refused to eat. Bottom line: a beloved pet who would have made it several more years instead perished shortly after his first visit to a business I since have coined: "Callaghan Road Kill." [Go ahead and prepare your defense, Dr. Guevara- but rest assured: I have every intention of reporting this incident to the Texas Veterinary Board.]
