I cant stress enough how wonderful Dr. Wilcox and staff are. We have a big dog, she is a Saint Bernard named Catalina who weighs 150 pounds. She started having problems after her last cycle, on Monday I took her to our regular Vet and they did a sonogram she had open Pyometra, this is an infection of the uterus, this is a life threatening condition, the only way to cure this is to have a complete hysterectomy. Our vet sent us to a place to have the surgery but when we got there we were told the procedure would be over $3,000.00 this is something that we could not afford, we applied and was denied for care credit. I also located a foundation that would pay for the cost of the surgery but the vet did not want to work with the foundation. So after a three hour wait at the other place they told us the best they could do was give us antibiotics and take her home, The next day I called my veterinarian, who I have been with for over 10 years to see if they could do the surgery, by this time it was considered emergency. If the open Pyometra closed her uterus would have ruptured so we were working against time. My vet clinic wouldnt make arrangements to do the surgery, they wouldnt even offer an in house payment plan, this really upset me because I think of all of my animals as family. Catalina has been seen there since she was a puppy and I couldnt believe that they were not willing to help us in our time of need. I posted our quandary on Facebook and a friend recommended DeZavala Vet Clinic. My daughter in law called and was in shock when we were told how much the cost of the surgery would be for Catalina she had to ask again because the price was so low!! They had us bring her in and they did the surgery on her within the hour, they knew this was a life or death situation and also they waited on payment until when we would pick her up, everywhere else wanted the money upfront before they would even do the surgery. I learned a lesson in the last week, one that almost cost me my dog. All the other places that we took Catalina to only saw money, something to add to their bottom line. I also learned that people who are in a situation like mine and willing to do anything to save their pet put into a situation where they can easily be taken advantage of. What I mean is if one vet charges $3,500 - $6,000 for a surgery how can another charge a price that is only 1/4 of what the others wanted to charge me? It reminds me of when we lose a loved one, we want the best for that loved one, and price is no object to what we are willing to spend, the same can be said when it comes to our pets. Dr. Wilcox took excellent care of Catalina! I could tell when I walked in that the staff truly care about animals and owners. I am now making a business decision of my own, that is to move all of my animals over to this practice, sadly we will be saying goodbye to a vet that I thought cared about my pets, sadly they only cared about how good my credit card was. I needed someone desperately to help my dog and Dr. Wilcox was there every step of the way with us. This was a major surgery for our Catalina, Dr. Wilcox calmed our fears and anxieties and gave the best possible care. From now on our pets will only be coming to this practice, because my animals are not just animals they are part of our family!

This is a review about their boarding service. I sent my 5-year-old Australian shepherd there for boarding when I was away during Memorial weekend. This is the third time we used their boarding service. The first time was great. Second time, he came home with a diarrhea which lasted only a day so I didnt think its a big deal, probably stress. This time, he came back with wounds all over his chin and two patches on his feet. A friend of mine picked him up for me cause my flight arrived later in the evening. When he picked him up, he just got a bill with medication charges with ZERO EXPLANATION (I paid the boarding fee up front). He asked what happened and the stuff could not figure it out and at the end they just said he was like this when he was sent in, which is not true. AND no one called me any time during his stay. So I called them first thing in the morning and talked to the vet. She said he must have developed some kind of allergy and started scratching. They noticed when they bathe him on Tuesday (the day I was supposed to pick him up) and thats why they did not call. I will post pictures of the wounds which I apologize may be disturbing. Its obvious that he has been scratching for a while to develop wounds this bad and they had to give him shot and antibiotics. HOWEVER no one noticed his scratching and no one bothered to put a cone on him which could totally prevent him from further hurting himself!! The vet told me this is because they have over 150 boarders in their facility during the long weekend and my dog has a long fur so its not obvious to notice. I do not want say anything bad although I really want to. This is what I experienced and I just want to let people know. So here is what I learned personally , 1. do not expect them taking good care of your fur baby if they have "too many" boarders. They are just responsible to keep them alive. 2. Do not expect to get calls for what happened and just pay for whatever they did at the end without any explanation. 3. Do not expect them to notice your pet may have lesions on him if he has a long fur.

Not exactly sure how they have such high rating. I went twice and found the staff in the front to be rude and they just sit and dont greet you nor does it seem they know how to smile (except the girl who does the billing collections). When you call to book appointments they are blunt and you can tell they just want to get off the phone, that is if they dont immediately put you on hold as soon as they pick up. I just didnt get the vibe that they were animal lovers as they didnt even care for the pets who would walk in as opposed to my normal vet where they pick up your pets and hug them and they just make you feel comfortable and like your pet is really cared for. Anyway, I live really close to here now and wanted to switch to this vet since it was convenient and they had good reviews. I took my dog because she seemed to have what appeared to be an ear infection. The doctor said no, it was only a little bit of dirt and normal stuff. So they gave me expensive drops to clean out her ear. It didnt work. The weird dark gooey stuff persisted after a week so I called them back and asked if they could see her again cause it wasnt going away. The girl put me on hold and when she got back on the line said the doctor would prescribe her an antibiotic. I dont understand how you can prescribe without seeing her again if he had just said it was nothing but dirt. So basically they did not want to see her, just give me medicine and try that out. It still didnt work so I went back to my normal vet and they took care of it! I wont go back here. I really hope their customer service and the service provided by the vets improves for the sake of their patients and owners.
