No matter what anyone says negatively about this vet they are WRONG! The Doc and his staff has helped me in times of great urgency and sorrow with my animals. Today especially. We had to put down our 14 yr old yellow lab, Jake. He was unable to walk due to hip and joint problems & was only able to crawl. I called this morning at 8:30am & got an appt at 11am! As always, Mary and Theresa were so kind. Once we got there the doc came out to help us get Jake from the car to the exam room. Without any hesitation he lifted Jake who weighed 100+ pounds onto a stretcher and helped carry him!! The fees are so reasonable $79.50-covered it all. I had spent several days trying to find a vet who made house calls, all the vets offices I called were rude & didnt want to help not to mention the unreasonable fees they wanted. If you want a good vet who really cares & isnt out for the almighty buck, a doc who truly cares about your pet call them. Every single time Ive needed them they were there. God Bless them for caring about the pet owner & their pets. I can never thank them enough!

The negative comments that i see on here are incredibly unreasonable. This vet is the only person i would rely on with my pets. I have never taken my pets anywhere besides this clinic. I have had this veterinarian for about 12 years. He has always been straight forward to me about my pets condition and i have always accepted that fact. Even if the news is devastating its better to know the truth then sweet words that are false. He has helped me out through the good and the bad. When this year my family and i had to put down our first dog. The clinic was very nice and understanding they knew that we cared deeply for our animals. The staff are very sweet and you can tell that they care for your animal. Everytime i walk in they always greet me and my pets. I dont know how people can say that they are rude because they are completely the opposite. I will always continue to come here no matter what because i only trust this veterinarian and so should you. I highly recommend this clinic.

I havent even taken my pet to this clinic because the front desk staff was so incredibly rude on the phone. I called to ask a few simple questions and was interrupted several times by the receptionist telling me that the only pricing she could give me was for the exam fee. Ive worked as a veterinary technician, receptionist, and office manager for 7 years and Im not an idiot; I dont appreciate being treated like one as a potential paying client. I understand that you cant give me an exact quote before even seeing my pet, but you can tell me the cost of some basic tests, like every other clinic in town was willing to do. Myself and my 10 pets will take our business elsewhere.

Dr. Gates is very reasonable and hes an AGGIE! We had a rescue dachshund who had a very tough previous life. She came with lots of teeth problems, tumors and needed to be fixed. Dr. Gates was always very honest and forthright with us, but caring and kind. His prices are very reasonable considering that he does surgical work as well. We had tumors removed, had her fixed, teeth cleaning and several teeth out. We came here for teeth removal and cleaning several times (poor doggie) and everything went great. Give him a shot, I dont think youll regret it.

We are new in town and needed a quick appointment for our dog. They were able to get us an appointment pretty soon. The vet was patient and explained to us what was needed. He was very compassionate. We will definitely bring our dogs back. While waiting, we talked to a lady who has been bringing her dogs to this vet for 23 years!

I went there to get my boys fixed (cats). Now Im really glad I did. The vet and his assistant were very nice, professional and caring. In the past Ive always gone to the one off Pleasanton but I like this one much better. The office has a relaxed, quite atmosphere and for someone who suffers from PTSD I really like that.

I will never go back he said my dog was going to die and that she had a fever needed antibiotics but it wouldnt help much.I was devastated. I then got a second opinion, ,she is not dying only having babies. He was wrong.

Best Doctor hands down. I was told my Tequila was very ill by some over priced clinic on Vance Jackson and I10. I decided to go back to my regular vet he said it was a tummy ache.
