My husband just ended a 3-week stay at Carriage Hill. He was there for rehab after a hip fracture. We had a very good experience with the facility. The nursing and therapy staff are very caring and supportive. Everyone that worked there were pleasant and always had a smile for you. It didnt matter if it was the director or the housekeeping staff - you always received a hello and a smile when you saw them. This facility didnt have the gloomy feeling you normally find when you walk into a nursing home/rehab center. It is clean, well laid out and more than adequate when it came to recreation areas for the patients. There is a lovely garden to walk and a screened in dining area for when the weather is nice. My husband said the food was better than you would expect. I know the lunch I had with him was really good. More impressive than the food was the fact that the dining room staff made sure they knew everyones name and greeted you by name when you arrived. You felt good vibes thru out the halls and rooms. If I was pleased with the facility why only 4 stars? Because there is always room for improvement - Im sure Carriage Hill wasnt perfect but we were pleased with the care they gave my husband.

based on the three care centers I have had experience this facility is about average. Appears to be a little understaffed, rooms are a little small and crowded, lack of care like ice water to patients, communication between therapists and nursing care is a little lacking, About 1/2 the staff is pleasant and knowledgeable and the other half is not. Nurse call buttons either dont work or are possibly ignored. Facility Administrator appears to be very proactive and dedicated to making the facility better. I have seen worse.

Patients requests routinely ignored. When I was visiting my father-in-law, my requests were routinely ignored. On the positive side the physical facility is old but reasonable.
