I had a couple of visits with Dr. Titus since I was having issues with pain. He was covered by my insurance and specialized in Rheumatology, not to mention he wasnt too far from where I lived. I thought it would be a good option, but I was proven incorrect. He diagnosed me with fibromyalgia, and prescribed me medications. By the next visit, two months later, he was looking at my chart asking me who prescribed my medications. This was off-putting to start out. I came in due to memory problems that had started after taking his recommended cocktail, that had serious drug interactions when put together, and he asked me brief questions before telling me I had a memory loss phobia, and should just take twice of my anti-depressant and stop my pain medication cold turkey. To stop it would mean I would go through a period of 7 days of withdrawal that would render me useless, and would not be being treated for the most important issue, fibromyalgia. When I brought up the issue, he did not mention tapering down on the medication first, and seemed to only care about dealing with my present symptom rather than considering the big picture. Feeling upset by the lack of consideration, and the quick judgement, I saw another doctor who gave me a real memory loss test and who took me seriously. Guess what? It wasnt a phobia, it was a very real issue of a drug interaction. He felt very detached, and I felt like the clock was ticking and they were rushing me out. I would recommend seeing someone else.

Dr Titus is the most compassionate doctor Ive ever had, and has served as my primary care provider when Ive been without one as well as my rheumatologist for many years. I currently live in Norfolk but will happily drive to Richmond several times a year to see him. He believes you when you tell him you hurt, and doesnt force you to jump through useless hoops to get some relief. I hope he lives to be 100 years old and remains in practice until he keels over in his clean white jacket.

I highly recommend Dr. Titus. He is a wonderful doctor and a superb diagnostician. He calls you himself with information about your treatment and, if you need to speak with him, he returns your call promptly. His office staff is courteous. You can get a timely appointment whenever you call. Once you arrive at the office you never wait long. He has his own lab so you dont have to go elsewhere and wait for results.

Went in for an infection and he refused to listen to all of my symptoms. prescribed multiple different antibiotics that are questionable at best when it comes to their safety.
