I have to say I am really taken aback by Rocky Ws review of Animal Clinic of Benson. My experience with Dr. Raja spanning several years, another clinic location and many animals has been nothing less than superior and quite a contrast to Rocky Ws description. Dr. Raja has been the ultimate among veterinary doctors with an incredibly warm, kind and compassionate approach to the animals and their people. This applies across the board to all of my animals (7 total over the years). In addition I have had the honor of witnessing Dr. Raja extend the same to other animals and their human companions. While I am not a veterinarian, as a health care provider I am familiar with some of the terms and approaches to veterinary care which occasionally overlap between certain animals and humans. I have taken my animals to many different veterinarians searching for just the right DVM with the perfect blend of professional and technical expertise, respect for my animals and our relationship, conscientiousness, thoroughness, and respect for me as a fellow human being. Dr. Raja is all that and more. My contact with him occurred quite by accident when I was seeking evaluation and treatment of my dog with a pronounced limp. She received a neurologic consultation and was diagnosed with cervical stenosis (narrowing of the cervical spine). The neurologist who was excellent referred me and my dog to Dr. Raja. It was our good fortune!! He provided acupuncture which gave her instant and long-lasting quality of life with repeated treatments. My dog adored Dr. Raja and would barely wait until the car was parked to get out and get into the clinic to see him. Dr. Rajas care of her was unequivocally superb. He also provided end of life care for her that was so kind, tender and humane--I will always remember an extremely difficult time made more bearable through Dr. Rajas actions. I could continue to list numerous details about the experiences I have had with Dr. Raja caring for my beloved animals. His veterinary care has been very, very consistent AND very high caliber. Thus it is very hard for me to believe that he would be anything less than excellent. Yes, we all have "off days", but RW is not describing an off day. And it is very hard to believe that RW is describing Dr. Raja or his veterinary practice in any way. I would very soundly and without reservation recommend Dr. Raja to anyone--and I do.

My mom and I both LOVE this clinic. My first experience with them was about a year and a half ago with my hedgehog, who just needed a routine checkup. Our regular vet was the Value Clinic by Reber Ranch, but they are only cats and dogs. Dr Lee was very knowledgeable, even with exotic pets. This being our first visit, I was not charged a dime. Then, in October of 2014, I noticed that my 12 year old miniature poodle had a rotten tooth. She has had a couple before, which we were easily able to pull ourselves, however this was a large molar in the back and she needed minor surgery to remove the root (though it was barely hanging on). We went to Value Clinic for a quote, explaining that we didnt need pain medication or antibiotics since we had some leftovers at home. For the simple 15 minute surgery they wanted $486 (not including the 50 for the initial exam). ABSURD!! We left and took their quote to Dr Lee, telling him she has already been examined and had not eaten that morning in preparation for the sugery. He told he could do it right then for just $100! As if that were not wonderful enough, we got a call about 30 minutes later saying they were finished but had noticed another tooths root poking out the bottom of her gums and wanted to know if I wanted them to fix it while she was already down. How much? $35. My mother has a 3 year old miniature poodle who has a ridiculously dense coat. Because of this, she had hairs growing on her eyelids in toward her eyed and she was extra teary eyed. Dr Lee performed a cosmetic surgery on here eyelids to remove the hair (at a very reasonable rate) and since then she has been so much better! Now, for the past few months my dog has been chewing more than normal and has recently developed sores and flaky skin. I took her in and he gave her a shot to get rid of allergens in her blood stream and an oral medication as well, along with some oil capsules for the dry skin. Within two weeks her skin is completely healed and theres no more itching. Dr Lee and his daughter are both friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They genuinely care for every critter and make it affordable to get the best care for your pet. I couldnt be more pleased with this Clinic!

Horrible experience!! Brought my dog in for puncture wounds (someones pitbull bit my senior dog) and vet didnt even tell me his name, ask mine, or ask for my dogs upon arrival. Performed surgery on the one bite wound I found, since it had abscessed in 3 days time unbeknownst to me, only to find a second bite wound hours later at home!! Why was this not found by the vet?? Dont bite wounds always come in twos?? This makes me believe that my animal wasnt even checked out fully. My dog was frightened as hell and didnt even want to walk in the front door when I brought him there. Vet left him with a 4" incision, stitches, and 2 drainage tubes and NO CONE. I even asked him for a cone and he said no!! How do you say no to a cone with a dog that has 15+ stitches on his face/ear and just was put under from anesthesia?? Then told me to bring my dog back in two weeks to get everything removed and I had to ask him multiple questions about aftercare...didnt explain anything to me without me asking (surgery, aftercare, anything) and even when I did ask it was a short few words or a yes/no answer. I left that place with a bad taste in my mouth. Also, it looks like a hole in the wall both inside and out. Ended up taking my dog to a 24 hr emergency clinic at 1:30AM after finding the second wound and gave them the whole run down of the experience. My poor baby had to endure two vet offices in less than 12 hours time. They were HORRIFIED that the Vet from Animal Clinic of Benson said to leave the the drain tubes in for 2 weeks - the norm is 3-4 DAYS - and that he didnt even give my dog a cone. The difference was night and day - staff at the 24 hr place was very kind and my dog wasnt scared at all. Needless to say, he now has a cone and has everything cleaned up properly. Without saying, I wont ever be going back to this place or even recommending it even to my worst enemy. Save your time, your money, your sanity and your pet the hassle and avoid this place like the plague. I would give it 0 out of 5 stars if I could.

I recently visited this facility and was not impressed at all. They had dogs running around freely (which is not a problem) but there was also pee all over the waiting room as well as pee in the examination room. I had to get a blood test done and was originally told $150 and after the test was done and we were leaving it all of a sudden was bumped up to $215 as well as a sedation fee (which I was not aware of at all). My total bill ended up being ridiculous for what was done and a regular examination was not completed at all. I was talked down to the entire time and the results of the test took 2 days longer than they had said it would take. I went to another vet about 2 and a half weeks later and upon them doing a normal examination (weighing, temperature, feeling of the abdominal area, etc.) was told that it was too late. After having an X-ray done it turned out not to be just adrenal disease like the previous vet had said and was actually also a tumor (the size of a lime in a ferret!) and it was blocking his bladder as well as his bowels (he was not using the restroom anymore and you could visibly see that he was straining with this) and had to put him down. The previous vet should of been able to feel this and tell me about this but instead was trying to rush me in to get the shots (that he supposedly needed to cure him) as well as not answering me when I asked how much the price would be. I have never met such an uncaring person in this field and I would never recommend this vet to anybody.
