Did you know that condoms are only 60% effective at preventing AIDS transmission? Thats not really true, but thats what the doctor told me today. He also asked me about my relationship with Jesus was, invited me to his church, New Life in Bremerton. Apparently new life is really accepting of people like me, they even have a transgendered woman their (But shes not really trans yet because she still has her boy parts). He told me that people should only have one sexual partner in their life. He printed out a copy of a twenty-two-year-old study to show me to prove to me that condoms are ineffective. I had it in my bag for a week. He told me an extremely personal story about a gay friend of his who, despite being warned by the good doctor not to be gay or something, still contracted AIDS. HIV is one of my biggest fears. Not because HIV is all that bad. I know people with HIV. From the purely medical standpoint, Id take HIV over breast cancer or T2 diabetes in a heartbeat. You take antivirals, you lead a normal life. But honestly if I got HIV I would probably blow my brains out because of the stigma perpetuated by the inscience of idiots like this doctor. Im confused. Part of my is proud that my sex life merits a prescription of "YOU NEED JESUS". Another half of me is just consumed with fear, fear that Ive never been able to control. Fear that stems from the entirely factual knowledge that anyone can get AIDS- from a blood transfusion, from a rape.... hell, there have been people whove gotten AIDS from trying to help someone having a seizure and getting bitten. I will never be able to control those contingencies. There are contingencies I can control. I could never have sex. I could never go to a hospital. But that chance is still there. I got treated like an animal anyway. Im in great health, and I was shown such disrespect, such a lack of compassion, and such cruelty, it brought me to tears. I feel like if Im already treated like a leper, it would almost be easier if I had leprosy, because it would make sense. If I ate a pint of ice cream and a bucket of KFC everyday for the next 10 years, gave myself type 2 diabetes, and was going in to have my second or third limb amputated, I would be treated like a victim and shown professional decorum. This all happened almost a year ago now, It just took me enough time to be calm enough to compose a review. Unbeleivably unprofessional that this Dr would abuse his power, and my vulnerability (lying half naked on a table), to try and shove his religion down my throat.

I have been coming to this urgent care since I was a very young, and have always had a great experience. However in the last year or so I have been extremely disappointed in what seems to be some mis-management and/or understaffing issues. My family and I have come in for various sicknesses and injuries, and where in the past we would have been in, treated and on our way in an hour, perhaps two if they were backed up, our times have stretched to three to four hours even when there is only one other person in the lobby. An hour at least in the main waiting room, and another hour once you are finally in the patient room. Almost every time we have a nurse or assistant that pops their head in to let us know that we havent been forgotten about, they are just running behind. These are most often weekday times. Why does there seem to be only one doctor for the entire urgent care? The staff is always lovely, helpful and competent, so there are absolutely no complaints there, but they seem extremely understaffed and by the time we are seen everyone is hurting, tired and fed up. These visits are not for basic check ups or sniffles, these are broken bones and pain levels that Vicodin is then prescribed for. There also seem to be communication issues. Doctor tells you that you need to schedule a follow up appointment for specific day, so you go up to the appointment desk and they tell you they dont take appointments on that day so just come in and get on the wait list, but upon checking out with the front desk they can put your name in the system so you are on the list and get in faster at the time of your appointment... Frankly, we have been so disappointed recently in how things are going that the hospital or urgent cares at further distances seem like where we are going to have to go in the future. This is quite unfortunate given how excellent I find the majority of the staff.

Avoid this place; unprofessional, unhelpful, rude, worthless. We were turned away and we have insurance. Go to Doctors Clinic instead. Read on for full review of this wretched facility Please note this is the very first review I have ever written, and am taking the time to write this based on the extremely unprofessional manner in which this place operates. My family has been here twice: once for my infant daughter who was running a very high fever, and yesterday my wife went here because of an eye injury. Both instances were absolutely horrible. My daughter was TURNED AWAY because it was too close to closing time. Fever of 104, and we were told to go to Harrison, the only ER in this area, yet my insurance does not cover ER visits. All we wanted was a second opinion, and for her to be monitored while her fever reduced. We as parents understand that there is not much to do for a fever, yet we live 20 mins away, so we were erring on side of caution. We were turned away and essentially could not "share our worry" with professionals on hand, so to speak. Just yesterday, my wife went here for a severely scratched cornea. Much tougher than I am, my wife rarely goes to see a doctor, so I know this injury is painful and life altering. I am out of country and can lend no assistance. Our awesome neighbor came through in our time of need. It was our neighbors decision to go to this facility, as my wife never would have returned. Scratch was visible without the aid of light; pain was a 8 or 9 out of 10; eye could not be held open. They gave no pain meds, no eye drops, nothing. My wife is going to Doctors Clinic today to receive adequate care. Avoid this place, do not go here. Go to Doctors Clinic.

I have never had a problem with these guys, they are very nice and always willing to accommodate me wether i have an appointment or I just happen to randomly walk in one day. I have always had issues with my toenails becoming ingrown. I usually cut them myself so its no problem, but unfortunately a couple months back, I ended up cutting too close and the toe started to slowly become infected. This has happened to me before and the end result last time was having half of my toenail removed and the cuticle burnt so it would no longer grow back, while yes this fixed the problem, I ended up off of my feet for 2 weeks, slowly becoming behind in my studies and throwing off my workplaces schedule. I did not want this to happen again, so i rushed down to the clinic as soon as i could. I wish i could remember the name nice doctor that was on staff that day. Instead of taking the drastic route and surgically removing my other toenail, he just suggested some daily soaking, gentle cleaning with a soft tipped toothbrush, antibiotics, and open toed shoes (or closed toed shoes with ample room for toes) I didnt have to miss classes or work, and my toe healed relatively quickly. Needless to say, this is my go to clinic around here and i would recommend it to anyone that either has an emergency, or maybe just a funny bump on your elbow you want to get checked out.
