We recently visited this office to get an eye test and glasses for my daughter. The service was fair, though we had to wait a bit longer than I would hope. We werent treated rudely, though the atmosphere wasnt as child friendly as one would hope. Im sure anybody with-out children would have no problem with this office, but I like to know my children are accepted with open arms (as all children should be). Little information was offered to me through-out and after our exam, and being inexperienced with getting glasses I am still coming up with questions that I need to call and ask where I feel that most of these ponderings would be considered common sense information to share with a patient in the first place. I think it may have also been nice for a consultant to have sat down with us and explained not only results, but proper care for our new glasses, and possibly sharing tips and tricks for children and eyewear.

This is in response to the negative review posted on this site. The person who posted this spoke with Sherri, who is no longer with EyeCare of South Hill, on numerous occasions without any results. She then came into the office and Becky & Brenda were both at the front desk. She asked for her daughters prescription and unforunately the doctor was out of the office and they were unable to fulfill the request at that time. (Due to state law requires a doctors signature on all prescriptions) They sent her prescription in the mail to her the next day. Neither, Becky or Brenda were rude, unforuately by that time, the patient was very frustrated and the only names that she got were Becky & Brendas. Sherri never identified herself to this patient. The staff at EyeCare of South Hill provides the highest level of Customer Service and tries to accommodate patients needs.

This doctor is amazing. A few years ago my son was experiencing double vision and he caught the problem and referred us to get it checked on a higher level. My son ended up in the hospital with a very complicated situation, but could have been worse if Dr. Johnson hadnt caught it. We also have had very positive interactions with the staff, including front desk personnel. They are always welcoming to our very active kids. Yes, the office isnt huge so there isnt a lot of kid space, but I never found it to be an issue, we just had to come prepared with "distractions" so the kids wouldnt run around and try to take all the glasses off the wall. Thats just life however, and we completely recommend this office.

i must honestly say that this "dr"s office is the absolute worst place that i have ever encountered, i have repeadelty have called and asked for information concerning my daughters dr visit, and have been treated so very poorly, from brenda at the front desk to becky i m also assuming front desk..THE RUDEST people i have ever dealt with, i paid almost 800 out of my own pocket for an eye exam and glasses for my daughter, and simply requested a copy of the prescribtion to be mailed, nothi ng i call and asked it to be faxed...still...nothing ..then brenda becomes irriate....never again...buyer beware

This is absolutely the worst eye care place I have ever been to. The staff is so unprofessional and rude I couldnt believe it. Not only did they make me come back for a "contact exam" when I have been wearing contacts for almost 30 years, but they billed my insurance and then billed me for over $100. My insurance company looked at their fees and said they were unusually high. Stay away from this place!!!

Great care! My husband is really picky about where he goes and after trying somewhere else, he came right back to Eye Care of South Hill for his eye care. His first pair of glasses is ready only 4 days after his appointment, far earlier than they estimated. Thanks for the great service!

The doctor is just fine, but besides the doctor, this place has the absolute worst customer service. Both my husband and I will not be back. Ever since Rene left, the service went extremely downhill.
