Im mad. We overpaid for a spay at this clinic because the reputation of Dr. Birchmeier is top notch. Each time we called to schedule our spay it was like the previous call never happened. Reception has: Poor listening skills. Poor record keeping. Poor information sharing. I called the day before our thrice scheduled appointment and we werent on the calendar. They "did me a favor" and "squeezed me in". The following day I was to told to drop off the dog at 8. It waited 45 minutes for a person to take my dog. I was told I would be called when surgery was completed and that the office closed at six. I showed up at six after no phone call all day. My puppy had been out of surgery for hours and was heavily drugged/disoriented/distressed. I was disappointed in not being called, and I was anxious to get my dog when I finally just went to the office. At that time, I was informed that another doctor performed the surgery. We were told the other doctor "didnt have many dew claw removal surgeries, so she performed the spay and dew claw surgery". We requested a specific, experienced doctor, so that we didnt get a hack job. When I removed the plaster bandages several days later, I saw that we in fact paid extra for a hack job. At the time of checkout, I was asked if I wanted an e-collar, and I said no. The girl handed me a credit card slip -first- ... and only after I asked did she provide the itemized list of prices. The e-collar that I just seconds before declined had been charged. Its just plain incompetence. We paid over 400 dollars for a spay and dew claw removal by the wrong doctor and with every possible inconvenience, mistake, and not even an apology. We were visibly upset (not rude, concerned) and the doctor didnt have the decency to come out and even talk to us, neither the one who we had specifically scheduled nor the incorrect one. I should have declined to pay, but apparently Im just a sucker for punishment. You can get free spays and cheap spays all over the city, the only reason you pay more is for experience and exemplary care. My dog received neither. Bring your enemies pets here not your family members.

Great Vet Clinic, where can I start? I called for a basic feline exam and vaccination and was greeted on the other line with a friendly voice. The receptionist helped me with accurate directions and they have free parking for their patients. They saw me quickly and did an initial exam on my cat, weight, temp, etc. I was asked to wait (only a couple extra minutes) because an emergency case had come through the door. I appreciate this as I had come in for a basic exam, and had heard the woman up front on the phone earlier about an emergency that was coming in. Dr. Birchmeier is very friendly and calmed my cat down quickly. I was given a full review of check up and printed list of vaccines administered. (they had also asked if I wanted to be present during vaccination. I stayed, but appreciate them asking). As I was paying and leaving, I asked them about follow ups and medication. They did not try to upsell me and their cost is quite reasonable. I did end up asking to buy frontline since I wanted some to take home with. Overall, friendly, fast, reasonable price, attentive. Great Vet. Highly recommend. 5 stars

I do recommend this vet if you live near. The cost per visit is very reasonable and the doctor I had and medical staff members were friendly toward both the pet and the owner. I cannot say enough about the doctor; my dog loves her! She is always gentle and compassionate toward my dog, and I can say that she is knowledgeable and reliable. Granted, the wait time is pretty long, but Id say thats expected at any type of vet clinic. Everything is very well organized and neat. The only reason I gave four stars is that the receptionist came off rude from time to time. I understand that there are variety of customers and dealing with them one by one isnt easy, but it is hard to communicate with the vet if the person in charge of the mid-ground between customers and medical staff members are not interested in communicating with the customer. When I got my dog neutered, I was told that I would get a call once it was done. I waited until an hr before closing time, and called in to check, and turns out my dog was already out in the kennel hrs ago, distressed. I wish theyd have actually called me beforehand as they told me so.

My senior dog came down with a stomach bug and didnt eat for 7 days. During which we took him to Companion to get checked up on. Dr. B was so amazing and helped my dog recover throughout the process. They also were so friendly when I called in just to check in if his symptoms were ok. I can tell the vet and her staff really care about pets. If I were to take him to the emergency room I would have had to pay 80% more for all the testing they would have made me do when he just needed some rest. I am glad there is a place in Seattle with affordable care for pets that really cares about its patients. I did have to wait a little, but I realize this is a walk in clinic and they were very nice about letting me know when I would be seen. One thing I really enjoyed about companion was they sit down with you to talk about pricing. At a lot of other vets I am given a bill without explanation. The receptionist were also amazing and very friendly. I will be a continue customer with companion!

Moving away from Seattle was only difficult in knowing that I had to leave companion pet clinic behind. The staff here is so great. They are compassionate people that work very hard. Be forewarned they do not take appointments wait times can be anywhere from 0 to you name it. You can call to check what wait times are like. They do take appointments for things like dental cleanings and scheduled surgeries which are usually performed on Saturdays unless its changed. Their services are very reliable and affordable they also do not up sell services. The last time I checked visits are 30 dollars and if it is a problem visit, rechecks are FREE. I have been taking my cat and my boyfriends cat here for a few years. Companion Pet Clinic has kept my cats happy and healthy. Would recommend this place to anyone especially those who value good affordable service thats worth a wait.

Very convenient location and the "drop-in" appointment type is nice. They fixed my 6 month old kitten back in July 2013 and I paid extra for the pain killers. She came home crazed, high, and confused. It was kind of entertaining but also sad that they gave such a tiny kitten the completely wrong dose of pain meds. Then a few weeks late I noticed my indoor kitten had fleas... everywhere. Ive been battling with them since. When I dropped her off another person dropped off two dogs completely infested with fleas and despite signing a form saying that if they found fleas, they would treat my pet, they obviously didnt and never warned me that it was a possibility. Overall, they did a fine job spaying my kitten, but they over-drugged her and gave her fleas. The price was right, but $80 on flea meds later Im not so sure of my decision.
