I dont write reviews but this place is a joke! Yesterday while driving 60mph on a HWY, I glanced in my drivers side mirror, just as my 16lb dog falls out the window of my truck, he hit the pavement and rolled multiple times on the road. The most unreal thing Ive ever seen happen. This was the closest vet we could find. My dog is bleeding from his face n eye and bleeding from his butt. Who knows what else is wrong with him. The sense of urgency here was non existent! Unbelievable! So because they werent doing surgerys, they were quick to send us elsewhere but didnt say where we should go...we had to ask them where we should go. As this is going on, the girl says well we could do an X-ray to see if there is internal damage but it costs $100. Seriously chick!! I dont care how much it is! Please help my dog! I take him to a room and wait. I ask the lady if the X-ray will also look at his head? No, just the body. Why not? He has an obvious head injury. Because It only does the body. Whatever... so they take him for an X-ray. He wasnt gone long and as a lady is telling me what the X-ray showed, shes looking at the ceiling...thinking..uhh...like she was making it up. Did you not just look at it? Uhhhh....did you even take an X-ray? Is my dog seriously injured? She says well we can give him fluids and pain meds. Nope! Im taking my dog somewhere else! I dont trust you one bit. So Im holding my still bleeding dog trying to pay them so I can get my dog to a real vet and the lady cashing us out is just looking at the computer not even acknowledging us standing there. She had to be asked to cash us out n she looks up at my dog n says awe poor puppy. Who are these people? I was seriously in the twilight zone! And $140 for absolutely nothing! Im thinking I got ripped off. Take your animals to the Columbia River Veterinary Services in an emergency.

If you want to be talked to like a small child this is the place to go. We brought in two kittens we rescued from an over populated area and have had and bottle feed since they were about 4 weeks old. Weve given them all of their vaccines so far and took ten in specifically for an ear mite treatment and rabies vaccine. When we arrived everything went normal until the vet came in and promptly told us they werent old enough for the vaccine, even though they knew the age of the kittens when we made the appointment. We brought in every over the counter medication we had used with the kittens and they told us the Advantage medication we got was garbage and that we needed to use their preferred brand. We ended up only letting them clean one of the kittens ears because they took it out of the exam room to clean her ears and then must have literally put her on a desk right outside the door because we could over hear nothing but rude comments about how bad her ears were. Obviously we wouldnt have brought her in if their wasnt a problem. But theres only so much can you can do medication wise with young kittens. The experience was so overly rude we ended up leaving and not letting them clean out the other kittens ears who hadnt shown signs of ear mites yet but we were worried since it can be transferred from one cat to another easily. Overall the experience would have been fine if anything they had said to us had come from one adult to another. But quite frankly everyone we spoke with their from checking in the payment on the way out was short with us, rude, or condescendingly talking to us as if they were talking to a toddler. We wont be returning, and I wont be recommending the place.

I am so sad to write this review! Our dog is at another vet right now as I write this. I called Camas-Washougal Animal Hospital 2 days ago with concerns about my dog. They told me they didnt think it was an emergency and to wait it out. We did. Our dog became extremely uncomfortable late this afternoon and we could tell he was in a lot of pain. When I called again, they told me it was too late today to bring him in (they were closing in 45 minutes) and I could bring him in tomorrow, but I would have to be prepared to wait a long time because they were squeezing me in. I told them Id rather come in right now and wait so my dog wouldnt have to suffer all night, but they wouldnt budge. When we told them we were taking our business elsewhere since we obviously arent that important to them, (we have 3 dogs), they didnt care. They didnt give me any advice to keep him comfortable, or give me any other options. So I called Summit Animal Hospital, who also couldnt get me in today, but told me that I could take my dog to Columbia River Veterinary Specialists. We dont know the outcome yet, but we do know that we wont be back to Camas-Washougal Animal Hospital. As business owners, we know how important it is to value your customers. We certainly didnt feel valued or appreciated there. And there was absolutely no compassion for what our dog was enduring. Not what we expect from an animal hospital. They may be less expensive than others, but the old saying rings true: You get what you pay for.

Our dog has been coming here for many years - and its hit or miss depending on the doctor you get. However, recently with one of the new doctors its been a few serious misses followed by a horrible experience for our family. I understand a doctors choice not to euthanize, however they shouldnt make that choice after an appointment is made for a dog that is terminally ill and in pain. We spoke to the clinic at length about the situation before we came in because we were so scared and sad. They assured us the process would be done with care and dignity. Dr. Cleveland however decided to shame my husband when he arrived and refused the euthanization. Shes the same doctor who refused to help my dog the last time we were there asking about her debilitating anxiety. I brought her there hoping they might be able to make her more comfortable in her final days, but they didnt offer any solutions. Only a surgery for her tumor - and for a dog with a two-year-old congestive heart diagnosis and fluid in her lungs - a surgery doesnt seem like a good solution. Im so upset that they put us through this emotionally, and sent my bleeding, nervous, sick dog back home with a quote and nothing more. I wish they had read her full chart before dismissing her like this.

We really loved taking our 2 dogs here, they were great. But that all changed the day that we REALLY needed them. One of our dogs started having seizures one evening. He was disoriented, unresponsive, staring blankly into corners, convulsing, and crying. He had about 14 throughout the night. I called this office first thing in the morning so I could get my dog in there ASAP. I explained what was going on, and they said they were too busy to see him that day, but had an appointment available in 2 days. I reiterated how serious his condition was, and still, too busy that day. I explained how concerned I was that he may not make it through this, and that I was worried I may have to put him down. And believe it or not, she said that they had time to euthanize my dog that day! Are you serious?! Youre too busy to HELP your patient, but not to busy to kill him? Im sorry, but thats not right. I want a vet that can make time for an emergency. Obviously, we took our dog elsewhere, where he was seen immediately and got the help he needed. Ironically, it was one of the worst rated vets in our area, but at least they made the time to be there for Hogan.
