I took in two stray kittens that were badly undernourished and I wanted to get them checked out today, as they were pretty sick. The only option as far as I knew, in Elkhorn, was this clinic. I called in advance to check on their prices and planned to get them vaccinated for about $55 each - which was fine for me. I took them there and a woman did an exam, then the doctor entered for just 2-3 minutes and he told me the sex of the kittens and that they had ear mites (which I knew). As I left, I was given a bill for $250!!! I was there for probably less than 20 minutes total - and the doctor charged me $51.50 per kitten that he "examined." With him being in the room for just over 2 minutes, I practically paid him $50 per Minute of his time! That is way more expensive than for me to see a doctor, as a human. When I left, I was pretty upset about it all - considering the $250 did not even include the vaccinations. I was told to come back for them - probably for a series of other charges to be tacked on. I also saw that the doctor charged me an extra $20 for telling me that my cat had ear mites - which I already knew. They said he did an exam, which I was not aware of somehow. Plus, come to think of it, I didnt ask him to do a special ear cytology exam - without telling me and informing me of the charges in advance. If the doc had spent a good deal of time examining them, I suppose Id understand the outrageous charges - but with just a few moments of his time - its just ridiculous. After I left the clinic, I called there to ask about the charges and to explain my feelings on it. I also told them to throw away my files as Id find another place to go to. I was just trying to care for the strays, who would have most likely died. I was in and out so quickly, with a $250 bill - it just isnt right. If you are thinking of going to Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic, you may want to think twice. I used to volunteer at a humane society and I know the standard costs - I should have gone to one rather than going to this vet clinic. For me, it is too expensive. On a positive note - the people there were friendly. If you do go there, just be sure to ask many questions and verify every single thing they are doing and they are charging you for - before they do it.

This veterinary clinic is extremely expensive, and did not give compassionate care to my pet. Some of the vets who work here are good, but the business itself is sub-par. The vets make you feel at fault for your pets problems--i.e., if your dog gets into the trash, it is your fault for having trash (even behind a closed cabinet door). My pet had eye problems, and my first appointment was perfunctory. I waited for longer than the actual appointment took, and the vet didnt consider all the options before diagnosing infection and giving me antibiotics. This turned out to be a mis-diagnosis--the problem was pollen allergies, and was solved with a simple eye wash. I spent more $$ on the mis-diagnosis and medication at Elkhorn Vet Clinic than I did to get the problem solved by a different vet. I also felt that the staff was rude and not willing to work with me on solving the problem.

We have been very pleased with Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic for 20 years. Whether taking our dogs in for medical care, emergency visits, immunizations or surgery, we have had positive experiences with the doctors and the staff, especially a tech who likes to nuzzle with our 106# lab, Kip. Dr. Korasecs care is first rate and has helped through some difficult times. Elkhorn is also a superb clinic for our farm animals, Dr. Tullys truck, coming for a farm call, is always a welcome sight when we have a sick or wounded horse or donkey. Whether for spring checks and shots, or for the sad times when a sick horse or goat has to be put down, his warmth, humor and expertise make the visit a good one. We recommend Elkhorn without hesitation. Jim and Sally Downey

Have used this clinic for over twenty years. Our most recent experience (Sept 2015) has motivated us to change vets. The vet they sent out was rude, arrogant and insulting with family and friends present. Rather than ask questions and get a history, he made inaccurate accusations( only to retract them later). He also recommended a course of action that was not in the animals best interest. It was only after carefully correcting his accusations that he concurred with our family decision that putting the horse down was best. Funny, his clinical report doesnt mention any of that. Then he slapped us with a bill close to $400.00. Really? What happened to the good service we had come to experience and expect? Time to move on.

Best Vet clinic in the area. All the vets are great, you cant go wrong with any of them. Although recently Ive seen their newest vet and Dr. Tucker and both have been fantastic. I have three dogs that are seen there, one was taken in during an emergency when he and my brother were hit by a car. They took such amazing care of Trigger and went above and beyond for him. I also have 2 small dogs, and they do an amazing job with them too. The vet techs are great, and everyone at the front is so nice as well. I would never even things about taking my dogs anywhere else. I recommend Elkhorn Vet to everyone I know that has animals! Thank you to the best vet clinic!

Bought a little piggy a week ago & he is extremely sick with scabies & a secondary infection. Called this vet for the first time as none of the Vets in my area deal with farm animals. They had me in with Dr. Greg within 45 minutes. He answered all my questions and set me out with meds. He also asked me to call him in a couple days just to let him know how hes doing. I couldnt have been happier with the experience. I honestly was surprised by the bill... thought it would have been more. Now I have a place to bring all my animals to.. cats dogs chickens goats & pigs. Thank you!!

Doc Tully has been caring for my horses for 30 years. He is the absolute best in the business, and I trust him wholeheartedly. Dr Burns is also one of my fave horse vets. I take my dogs to Elkhorn as well. When we discovered my dog had Lymphoma and not much time left, they were extremely compassionate and accommodating. Elkhorn has earned my lifetime loyalty, and I recommend them to everyone I talk to.

I am so pleased with the care my animals receive at this clinic. The vets and techs always answer my questions, they are gentle with my animals, and they follow up on the care they provide. I have dogs, cats, and horses. I wouldnt dream of taking them someplace else. There is some expense involved, but you get what you pay for.

Love the people and service at this vet clinic! The front desk staff is very nice, do a great job and are helpful. The vet techs and vets do a great job and take wonderful care of my dog. Im one of those people who sees my dog as part of the family and wouldnt trust his care to just anyone. I trust the people here.
