DECEMBER 2016: I may have forgotten to mention how reasonable their prices are? They gave me a super-inflated possible cost pre-outline for some X-Rays, teeth extractions, and a few other procedures - stressing they gave this to me BEFORE doing the work, not after. They did mention that this would be the high end cost for what was needed. When I checked out, I was shocked that the amount was nearly half of the quoted price ... Merry Christmas, indeed! I still cannot say enough about this place! Even the girls behind the desk who check you in are all so kind, even when the phone is ringing off the hook and fur babies are pouring in and out. Really love that they usually call the day after an appointment to make sure everything is OK and to see if you have any questions. Even their Technicians are sweet and loving and treat your pet as if they were their own. My kitties might not like this place but I ♡ it! Been a client of Regner for about 11 years, having had four cats as patients there. Ive always found both the doctors and staff to be caring, kind, and courteous. I appreciate that they will give you approximate prices for the tests BEFORE actually doing the tests; no real "sticker-shock" on the fees due when you check out. Sure, the waits can be long before you and your furbaby are seen by a doctor but Ive found that is kind of the norm at most vets? Im glad they moved to a larger location as the old lobby had everyone piling into a tiny box - not the best atmosphere for the mixture of animals, sizes, personal space, and noise. If you have an emergency, just speak up and Im fairly certain they will squeeze you in somehow (see note above about long waits). No visit to the vet is pleasant, either for owner or pet, but I think that Regner has the necessary caring and concerned approach to petcare. My kitties should write their own reviews but I dont think theyd speak as highly of them? Of course, not by any fault of Regner, just by the poking and prodding and occasional needles involved in a visit to the vet.

I am giving only two stars here, because I ran into a woman (Dr Maggie Regner or another owner of this practice, I can only assume due to how she presented herself) who condescendingly spoke in a extremely snide and rude manner to me. Otherwise, I have enjoyed the rest of staff here very much. They have treated my dog nicely. Just the people skills at the top level are not so good, I guess. What happened was this... I have an elderly dog with a pretty serious heart condition and we were at the Regner Veterinary Clinic near Cheddars. She goes into extreme panic when she goes to the vet. I had to bring her in for a follow-up flu shot. The stress of such a visit causes my dog to need to poop. A not so uncommon experience, I would imagine, for some pets. Well, outside while I was looking for a place to dispose of my dogs poop bag, I met this woman who was exiting out of the employee exit. I asked her if there was a garbage can around and she took the bag from me and threw it in a dumpster behind a gate. I told her, in a very friendly tone, that I was surprised there was not a wastebasket more readily available for the clients. She responded in mock civility with a big grin saying "well, if you want to make a donation that would be great. I have a big mortgage I need to make." As if I were begging for some kind of massive discount on services or something. I nearly let it slide, but decided to ask her point blank, "Im sorry, what?" To which she replied nearly word for word with what she said before with even more condescension in her tone. She then walked to her car briskly with a real attitude. Customer service is clearly not a priority. Well, lady I met in the parking lot, if you read this... What would you like the people paying you to care for their pets to do? Leave the dog waste on your lawn? If not, perhaps you should do a better job of budgeting your business, it might ease your stress levels and result in you being more respectful of your clientele.

Dr. Regner, My family has been taking our pets to your clinic since we moved to Illinois in October 2016. We have had a good experience up until our most recent visit, and I felt I needed to share my disappointment in how your clinic fell short for our bullmastiff, Tyson. Tyson was almost 13 years old, and we had a feeling something was wrong due to recent behavior. We took him in for your expertise, and your team talked us into a battery of blood tests, senior panel, heartworm tests, etc. The results came back that everything was great, yet Tyson died a week later. Tyson’s last day was terrible. He was home alone suffering for several hours while his body and organs shut down - we had no idea anything was wrong when we left him home that morning. How would we know? Your staff told us everything looked great ONE WEEK EARLIER. By the time we found him and got him to emergency care, the tumor in his heart had burst and cut off oxygen to his body. His prognosis was poor and we had less than an hour to say our goodbyes. If Tyson were given the attention he needed when we brought him to your clinic, we would have found out about the tumor earlier. There would have been surgical options, or we could make sure he was comfortable in his final days while we said goodbye. I’m extremely saddened that your team failed to do its due diligence with our senior dog. The emergency vet informed us that blood tests wouldn’t have shown this tumor – one of the most common tumors in dogs. Yet we were recommended all those blood tests, and not an ultrasound? I know I can’t change what happened to Tyson. All I can do is advocate for my other pets when they need someone to really care, and go that extra mile for their health. The next time someone brings you a senior animal and tells you that something is wrong, I hope you dig a little deeper for them and get to the root of the problem so their pet has a better end of life experience than mine suffered.

I became a patient of dr. maggie in Jan . we were actually patients of another clinic but they refused to see our cat ,although he was dying in my arms . I called Regner vet and they took him in without hesitation . I wasnt even an established patient. At that moment she only cared about Bernie and keeping him alive . She was even willing to work with me on a payment plan ... Bernie unfortunately didnt make it through the night , but the staff was so supportive even cried for him and us . They took his paw prints for us and even had a little stuffed toy with him so he wouldnt be alone . they took amazing care of him . Today we are now established patients with our pittbull and our two cats. Jaxson and Bruce we neutered earlier today . Dr. Regners staff has been the best . they explained everything answered all my questioned . The make you feel at ease and called me right away once my boys woke up . They treat all their patients like family . I no longer live in Wisconsin but i travel over half and hour to come see her !!! Absolutely amazing Doctors and staff !! 5 stars from this family . A must if you want top notch care for your four legged children
