I received a call from the lady at the front desk letting me know I was behind on my cleanings and exams. She took it upon herself to schedule my appointment and it just so happened to work for me. I went in for the exam and Dr. Nielson had already had a game plan set a side. I came out of the exam...and low and behold the lady at the front desk had already arranged for my cleaning with Mary Ellen...right then!! I was a little nervous...but Mary Ellen took control of the situation ( banned the lady at the front desk from coming into her room) and proceeded to clean my teeth like no other!! We jammed the tunes cranked up the nitrous and before I knew it...we were done!! She was so caring and is very good at her job! When I left the lady at the front desk said she would let me know when my next appointment would be. I have to admit that lady was on top of things she informed me later that day she had scheduled my next appointment with Dr. Nielson for some fillings and some cosmetic work..Again I was a little nervous...so they cranked up the nitrous, numbed me (which I never felt the shot) and off to work they went.( I had found out later from the lady at the front desk some of these people came in on there day off to work on me!)All went well with this appointment...I survived and left there with some temporarys and was feeling a little better about this dental stuff. One thing I did notice was how much of a perfectionist Dr. Nielson is, we had some labs come back that were not suitable to him and he sent them back. On my last visit I was a little skeptical because the lady at the front desk ( who happens to be my wife!) made a judgment call I wasnt sure about...but I have to say, it all turned out great and would not change a thing! I could not be happier with the smile and confidence of just how much better I feel. Laurie at the front desk has been in this business 25 plus years and within this time I have not seen an office that is so in tune with one another, this is a true team. I owe them ALL a big Thank You and would highly recommend them!!

Prior to coming in for my first consultation with Dr.Schmidt, I was very nervous and I had a lot of anxiety due to previous dental services/history. Even after making the consultation appointment, I debated whether I should come in even though most of my molars were in various states of dental decay as a result of not seeing a dentist in years (10). As Dr.Schmidt phrased it, I was very comfortable with my diseased mouth, but in all seriousness I was 10 years past due for a visit. When I came in for my appointment, I was first introduced to Myra, who was very gentle and put me at ease. She took my ex-rays and was great at accommodating me even though I had a difficult time opening my mouth wide and as a result made her job much harder. She was patient and kind throughout the whole process and continued to be for every visit thereafter. My experience with Dr.Schmidt was awesome. From my very first visit, he listened to my concerns patiently and explained what the restoration process would require. After wax up or two, Dr.Schmidt gave me several different options, which I really appreciated for what could be done to restore my mouth and we went from there. My most nerve racking appointment involved 8 or 9 extractions and I was ready to bolt from the chair at one point, but throughout it all, Dr.Schmidt and Myra remained calm and did everything that they could to keep me comfortable. I survived that appointment and came back for the rest because they are a wonderful team and I knew I was in good hands. I will continue coming to Life Smiles Dental because Dr.Schmidt is a knowledgeable dentist and has a good eye for detail (I really liked the shape of the crowns of my upper canine teeth-they complement the rest of my teeth very well) and because Myra is the world’s most patient dental assistant and gave great advice about what I needed to do for maintenance after every appointment. Overall, my experience has been great so far.

Your Review (to share your review copy the review text below): Well, let me begin by saying that this was my first visit to a dentists office in 27 years. That was only because I had to. I was a soldier in the US Army, for a small time anyway, and it was mandatory that along with regular physical health, you had to have dental work too. That was it for me. No more dentists. Fast forward 27 years, to Jan. 8th, 2015. Even though I have a debilitating fear of clowns, and dentists, I allowed my wife to make an appointment with Life Smiles. Thank god, there were no clowns in the office. Now I could focus on my nightmarish fear of dentists. After some ex-rays taken by a nice young lady, (Whos name escapes me, maybe Mayrna?), who treated me with the utmost professional care, I met Dr. Schmidt. He immediately told me that if I didnt quit sniveling like an eight year old girl, he would have me tied down to the chair and then proceed to drill deep holes into my teeth, with no numbing! (Now, you do know Im kidding, right?) Dr. Schmidt was very nice, with an outstanding chair side manner. He comforted me with his extremely cool disposition and professionalism. After an exam that included a large set of numbers, he advised me of some work that needed to be done. Strangely, I was in agreement. Next I met Kelli. She also was a sweet, kind, caring person, (And pretty easy on the eyes as well). She did a small, first cleaning on my teeth, that also involved a lot of numbers, with little to no pain. She too, apart from being a cutie patootie, had a wonderful chair side manner. In closing, I would like to say that everyone from the front office staff, to the Dr. and Kelli, treated me very well. I was very much pleased with my visit. Ill be back soon for another appointment with Kelli. I look forward to the personal and professional care Ill receive while there. Thank you very much, Life Smiles! Buenos dias!!!

I had a root canal at Life Smiles a couple weeks ago, and it was the least painful dental experience of my life. This was my first root canal, and I had heard terrible things about how painful a root canal was suppose to be during and after the procedure. On the contrary, I would say it was only as uncomfortable getting a filling done; if I hadn’t had to keep my mouth open, I probably would have fallen asleep during the procedure. The wonderful experience started right away with the dental assistant literally standing there and rubbing the roof of my mouth and gums, where my lip couldn’t keep the q-tip held into place, with topical anaesthetic. It resulted in the least painful novacaine injection I’ve ever had. One of the things I hate most about dental procedures is the shrill sound of the drill, right inside of my mouth where it echoes through my head. I didn’t have to worry about that at Life Smiles because I was given a pair of noise-cancelling head phones plugged straight into a flat-screen TV. I was given a remote control and a TV guide, and the rest of the procedure was as relaxing as watching TV at home. The procedure itself was completely painless, especially because Dr. Nielson gave me an extra injection of novacaine every time I became paranoid that the anaesthetic might be wearing off. Afterwards, I expected the pain of the procedure to settle in as the anaesthetic wore off, but the anticipated pain never came. I was chewing on grilled chicken a few hours later and felt no sign of the sharp pain that compelled me to see Dr. Nielson in the first place. My gums were slightly sore for the next day or so, but that was the extent of my discomfort throughout the whole experience Thank you Life Smiles!!
