My husband and I found this place on a whim we had been to many other animal clinics each experience seemed to get worse and worse. My first visit at sugar loaf did not feel like that, it was completely opposite. There small office is decorated and feels homey and Ive met every one of the front counter/assistant ladys they are all very welcoming and treat your pets like there own. Dr rai came off very sweet as well, but not affraid to tell you the truth and best course of action for your pet. My cat is a 7 year old Siamese he is my baby and he needed a ton of dental work done 7 teeth removed to be exact. She set us up a week early on antibiotics very easy to give pills his checkups were included after the procedure. She wanted him back once a week for 2 weeks (this is what I mean when I say they treat your pets like there own) and he is due back for one more checkup 2 weeks after that. He is doing great now I dont think I would have wanted it done any other way at any other place I felt comfortable leaving him there that day and its hard to find that in a vet. There a small but amazing place & i like a small hands on place that knows what there doing. My cat coudlnt be happier I see it in his behavior everyday and I couldnt be more great full for what Dr. Rai and her team did for him. I know he can live another 7 years now and as for Dr. Rai and her team, they have 3 more furry babys that will be coming in for checkups (: my new go to vet for all our little family members. I highly reccomend this place, you wont regret it!

Not very caring! We found a 4 week stray kitten by our home. She was wandering in the street totally blind from a severe eye infection, wobbly, barley able to walk from severe dehydrated & malnutrition. We actually thought it would die on the spot she was in such bad shape, so we took it to the closest vet to our home Sugarloaf. We explained the situation and that we couldnt just leave her in that condition! They charged us a $51.00 exam fee and presented a bill for $378.00 to give it fluids under the skin, antibiotic & steroid shots, antibiotic eye drops and an HIV test ($99). They would not help us help the kitten by giving us any discount. (not even emergency fluids) The help they offered was suggesting we take her to the shelter. I was so distressed I could not afford that much and I refused to take her to a shelter! I was pretty sure in that condition they would just put her down. So I took the kitten to another vet who helped us help her and charged us $65.00 for everything the other vet was going to do, less the HIV test (shes to young to take the test). They also fed, bathed and kept her to watch her for a few hours. I had to do a couple days around the clock care, but she pulled through and is doing well now. Sugarloaf sent us a Thank you / Welcome to our family card, that is what prompted this review. You can see pictures of her on my Yelp review.

I took my little Jenna (puppy) into Sugarloaf today for the first time. This is my first puppy and my first trip to a veterinarian. I wanted to get her examined and see what else I needed for her. I was shocked when I was seeing everything that she needed and was nervous about the cost. To my surprise, they had everything wrapped up in a "puppy package" that covered everything she needed at a discounted rate including being chipped. Dr Rai was very meticulous in her exam and her staff were wonderful. They explained what everything was and why it was needed. They originally helped me plan the treatments and shot according to my budget, but then I was approved for one of their financial assistance programs and was able to get the puppy package covered. I took her in for an examination and left with medication, her first round of shots, her being microchipped and sample of some recommended puppy food. Oh, yeah, lets not forget, I also left with the next appointment scheduled. I now have the peace of mind that my little Jenna is in great hands. Thank you to Dr. Rai and her staff (sorry to the wonderful nurse who helped us too, i did not get your name) for a great job. I highly recommend Sugarloaf to anyone!

Dr. Rai and her staff are excellent. From the great care and knowledge, to the ease in which the information is communicated to us. I have been going to this clinic with my dogs for nearly 20 years. When it was time for my Sadie to be put to sleep Dr. Rai and her staff could not be more gentle or caring. They let us spend as much time with her at the end as we needed, provided some of her fur and a paw print and the procedure went quietly and painlessly. Afterwords we received a heartfelt sympathy card from the clinic. They went above and beyond. With our new puppy, we are using one of the puppy packages and it has been a relief to not have to worry about our new family edition getting the care she needs so she can be strong and healthy. I would recommend Sugarloaf to all of my friends with furkids :)

Dr Rai and her staff are wonderfully compassionate, caring and extremely competent, I know that my furry "kids" receive the highest level of preventative medicine and the most up to date medical care available. This is not a "spay and shot clinic", their fees are not the cheapest in town, but then my pets are worth more than bargain basement care. I love that the Vet calls be back to answer my questions and the technicians call and follow up as well as remind me about appointments. I've even gotten birthday calls for my pets. This is a high quality clinic with top notch staff and a stellar Dr. I'm committed to Sugarloaf!

Dr. Rai Greeted me at the door with a beautiful smile. I felt at ease immediately. She examined my baby (dog) and gave me a full evaluation of his health. She explained carefully and knowledgably in laymen terms about my dogs situation. She made some other unrelated recommendations. My dog is now on a diet. LOL I absolutely think the price for the service was very fair. I have paid so much more at other offices for so much less. I highly recommend you make her your family pet doctor. Thank you Dr. Rai for healing my baby! Your the best! Your staff rocks too!

Dr.Rai misdiagnosed 2 of my dogs..I must say...Im glad I did not listen to her diagnosis...She stated my dogs left frontal lobe was damaged...and the dog wouldnt react to everyday activities...I found our later that the conditions was from a toad. Another vet diagnosed the situation...Im sorry Dr. rai.. you should take more instruction to become a qualified veterinarian I read your response...now I consider you or your employee. Whoever is responding, a liar. I have receipts to prove my accusations....I DO NOT recommend this Vet.!

I found Sugarloaf Animal Clinic to be a top notch facility in terms of doctor and staff knowledge as well as compassion for their four-legged patients. You definitely get the care, attention and competence that you pay for. Over the long term, I have found that the preventive care provided by Dr. Amrit Rai and her caring staff was better both for my pets health as well as my pocket book.
