Dr. Hoag is ok; however, the office staff, office manager and at least one of the PAs are a completely different story. I was referred by a friend and initially scheduled with a Christine, PA. Once my friend found out who I was scheduled with she told me to be aware because this PA has absolutely no bedside manner and she wasnt joking. I was in the room for less than 5 minutes with this woman who looked like she had been sucking lemons and completely freaked out when I told her I was there for more than a cold. I finally requested to speak with the office manager, Ronni who put on a good act of empathy but it was clear she was annoyed that someone would come in and tell her this behavior was unprofessional, needed to be addressed and if she took the time to look at some of the reviews other people have had this same experience. I rescheduled with Dr. Hoag who ordered a lot of labs but it seemed that he was concerned. Unfortunately this is where it goes downhill. I received a call from the nurse regarding my labs but of course I couldnt get the results by phone, I had to go in. I called and after being placed on hold at least 3 times I was told it would be well over a month for a follow-up. Prior to the follow up I get another call that they have to change the appointment, I call and literally get put on hold 6 times just to be asked to come in 15 minutes earlier. Ok, that could have been left in a message. The results werent anything that necessitated a follow-up, only 1 abnormal result out of literally 10+ tests. At that time I was also told that a medication he started me on "must be working" because other labs were normal. The problem with that was I hadnt started taking the medication when the labs were drawn, initially Dr. Hoag looked confused but said "Well I guess continue the medicine" and rushed through the visit before I could question that. Needless to say Im not going to continue something that obviously isnt necessary. Dr. Hoag also wanted tests done but his office wouldnt schedule them. The facility he wanted them done at didnt have time fast enough for him but again when I try to get the office to step in an help, nothing. Finally the last straw, I had tried to have him address constant pain/swelling I had been having but he kept brushing it off. My husband had an appointment coming up, so I called to see if they could squeeze me in for a quick visit versus me slipping this in during my husbands visit. Once again a call where you automatically get put on hold then again at least 2 to 3 times only to hear "No, were full". Well at this point I talk to the office manager again and initially Im trying to be nice but after again an again hearing how "wonderful" the front staff is Im done. Seriously why am I going to go to a doctor whose office cant schedule and I spend more time hold for, especially when they arent doing what theyre supposed to be doing? Instead of being professional and taking this seriously I am told "Well I guess you better find another office". Be very careful with office, theyre happy to schedule you and bill the insurance but once theyre expected to work, youre basically told to hit the road.

So I saw a NP Tanya in office for my first patient appointment. I went in for a Womans wellness visit. After about 5 minutes of explaining that I had no issues, pain or concerns and feeling my neck, head and abdomen, she begins to conclude the appointment. I asked about the pelvic exam and she states that you are not scheduled for that and this room isnt even equipped for it. She tells me that I need to reschedule the appointment for only the pelvic exam--which would then not be covered by my insurance as it would a second appointment. After leaving the room and speaking to an office manager, she arrives back into the room to tell me (a lot of attitude) that they would be able to do it today. When she completed the pelvic exam she continued to ask, "if I was better?" She stated that everything looked fine and she was ordering blood work (ridiculous amount) and a urine analysis... This office tries to find anything they can bill for to create diagnosis to bill under along with carefully calculated questions to slip you up to change the visit from a wellness visit to a sick visit. I went in with no issues and came out with a lists of lab tests ordered being told all of these "should be covered by insurance". Lets be real.... stabbing in the dark for any general lab test possible isnt prevention which is covered it is inquisitive and indicative of a problem which isnt covered. By the way any form needing a signature from the Dr/PA/NP is $75 at the time of visit!!! Do yourself a favor find someone else!!

My appointment that was supposed to be scheduled as a yearly physical was scheduled as a "medication refill" appointment which my insurance does not pay for. I have been billed an unreasonably high amount for that office visit. I received a voice mail 3 days after the appointment that I needed to make an appointment to discuss my labs. I left a message stating that my insurance did not pay for that type of visit & requested that the PA discuss them over the phone with me. 10 days later I received a call from someone other then the PA to tell me that my labs were abnormal & that my medication needed to be adjusted. She said that she would call the new dosage in. I called & left a message one week after that asking why it hadnt been called in yet. 4 days have passed & I still have not had my call returned. This office does not care about their patients well being!

Most impersonal place I have gone to in healthcare services in my life. Every year it is a different PA - Ive been going there for 17 years and have only seen the doctor once. Every time I visit I have to show them my ID and insurance card, why? They scan the documents to their computer system, however, they still ask for it every single time I make an appointment. They nickel and dime you if you ask them to look at something else that might concern you and you get a big surprise on your next Doctor bill. Customer service skills from a scale of 1 to 10 and 1 being worse, I give them a 3. Overall, I would not recommend going to this Doctor. No personal interaction and no long investment in your overall health strategy.

If there was a lower rating i would give it no stars. Front office gal was a space cadet. My husband signed in and waited an hour then went up to the desk and asked how much longer it would be. She said you didnt sign in. Then she couldnt find his appt and gave him lip. This is the third time similar things have happened in a row to him. I could go on and on, but they found that he had the appt yesterday booked. Thats is impossible as I booked it late afternoon yesterday for the next day, The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing at least at the front desk. On a positive note. The medical staff Docs are great !!!!!!!!!!!!I give them 10 stars.
